Knowing Pokemon the contest is probably judged on something really obscure like EV points or nature or something. If it’s giving you trouble I would just go on one of the many wikis and work out how to game the system.

Either that or get a Scyther. Fucker always wins.

Shrykull43 02-21-2015 10:09 AM

Recently I've been playing New n' Tasty, Abe's Exodus, Diablo III, and FarCry3. And I just finished a 42hr game of Final Fantasy IX, my favorite game of all time, and just started another.

Varrok 02-21-2015 02:43 PM

I've bought and completed Star Trek: The Video Game. It was beautiful. I recommend it to nobody.

MeechMunchie 02-22-2015 03:22 PM

I just completed Bit.Trip Runner.

(Not me)

I'm still alive.

Mostly.

Varrok 02-22-2015 08:39 PM

I gave up on BIT.TRIP RUNNER when I couldn't beat the first boss level on Perfect because of my slight input lag

Mr. Bungle 02-25-2015 05:53 AM

I'm about to play a game called Catherine. I'm not quite sure to expect, but it's advertised as a puzzle-platform adventure game so I'm pretty hyped.

Oh and cleavage.

Shade667 02-25-2015 06:08 AM

Catherines a really cool game. Its really weird though.

Job McYossie 02-25-2015 10:10 AM

I still haven't played that but I know the characters 'n' the basic plot, seems great. I still remember seeing the main character in Persona 3 and being blown away when he's all like "Keep your eye out for me in a future game"

Oh and cleavage.

I know so many people who felt weird buying the physical version of this game, because the people on the counter inevitably thought that they were just huge perverts.

MeechMunchie 02-25-2015 05:00 PM

I played some of this indie platformer called New 'n' Tasty.

It was OK.

Job McYossie 02-25-2015 07:31 PM

Why talk about Oddworld games in the "Non-Oddworld Gaming" section?

Phylum 02-25-2015 07:56 PM

That's the JOKE

Nate 02-25-2015 09:19 PM

I thought the joke was meant to be the 'It was OK' part.

Yeah, I could see that. Thankfully at this point it's pretty much been accepted into the pantheon of cult/classic/really-good-but-kinda-underappreciated titles of the 7th generation, so the cashier at EB just seemed to dig the fact that I actually wanted to go out of my comfort zone for a more bizarre experience. Which is good considering how the Xbox version's cover art features the main character along with a bunch of sheep seemingly crawling out of Katherine (not to be confused with Catherine's) butthole. That even weirded me out.

But yeah, I'm really enjoying Catherine so far. The puzzle's are just mind-bending enough to feel challenging but not too frustrating. The real meat of the game seems to lie in the story and how you shape it. It almost reminds me of Heavy Rain in a way, only much less stressful.

In fact I'm enjoying it so much I'm probably gonna pick up another Atlus game as soon as I'm done (Persona 3 most likely). Great developers, from what I hear.

Crashpunk 02-28-2015 04:26 AM

It could of been worse, you could of bought this at the counter.

Varrok 02-28-2015 04:43 AM

Let me guess, it's a game about putting letters (?) inside girls' cleavages

Crashpunk 02-28-2015 06:22 AM

Actually it's a action, side-scroller with anime boobs everywhere.

Mr. Bungle 02-28-2015 06:49 AM

So it's Catherine?

Wings of Fire 02-28-2015 09:17 AM

I bought Senran Kagura for my brithday last year and was physically unable to play it within two hours because my poor RSI ridden wrists couldn't keep up with the absurd button mashing requirements of the beat em up aspect.

Tits aside, it' a really solid game with fun characters and a great story.

I've currently been playing the Majora's Mask remake. I have a laundry list of problems I don't remember existing a decade ago but it's still a very good game.

Same here, I'm most glad they managed to nail the creepy tone honestly.

I've been neglecting Majora for Monster Hunter 4 U recently, however. If anyone's up for hunting let me know.

I promised a friend that Id play velocity 2x (and that Id at least attempt to speedrun it) a few months ago, and im finally getting round to it. Its a fun, challenging Fast paced half top down shoot em up Half 2d action platformer. I dont remember any game in recent years requiring as much APM as this game demands if u want to be good.

Theres times in these videos where my brain forgets all the controls. Because your doing like 4 things at once. And the controls are different between the 2d and top down sections, and future levels have u switching between the two 3 or 4 times per level. And then theres the boost mechanic. U want to go fast, but going fast means youll miss alot. A game that lets u dictate ur speed, rewards u for going fast, but makes objectives harder to complete for doing so. Im gonna tear my hair out with this one, while loving every second of it.

MeechMunchie 03-29-2015 04:19 PM

About a year after I started it, I finally finished Pokemon Platinum.

https://i.imgur.com/F5stadq.jpg

It was OK.

Varrok 03-29-2015 09:58 PM

Shade would do it in, like, 10 hours minutes

Shade667 03-29-2015 10:54 PM

The current record is 3 hours 59 minutes, so i doubt that.

Varrok 03-30-2015 03:54 AM

Don't be so hard on yourself

MeechMunchie 04-02-2015 05:19 PM

I played Pokemon Colluseum Colosseum. It was pretty good.

The difficulty curve is a lot steeper than the main series, so grinding is pretty much mandatory if you want to beat the whole thing. It doesn't really help that the AI cheats and reads your moves before picking its own. The graphics aren't great in the light of the modern day, but passable. And to my surprise, the aesthetic direction and writing was stronger than in the handheld games; some of the environments are quite pretty, and I actually laughed at a couple of the gags.

Of course, it's mainly just about seeing your 'mon to scale, which I'll admit is pretty entertaining.

Sadly there's no lineup screen at the end, so here's my team.

Oh, and for the benefit of Bullet Magnet here's a .gif of an owl firing a laser beam.

Pokemon Stadium 3.

Shade667 04-02-2015 06:19 PM

Why is hedwig switching between lvl 47-49 during hyper beam?

MeechMunchie 04-02-2015 08:32 PM

Because some of those screenshots were taken when he was at Level 47, while others were taken while he was at Level 49.

EVP_Glukkon 04-02-2015 10:33 PM

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

I can't play it too often, but in moderation I find it an enjoyable game.
