At the moment I’m kinda just fumbling through my Steam library. Got a Windows 7 partition on my Mac and it makes a pretty serviceable gaming PC. Saints Row 3, Far Cry 2, Stranger HD, Oblivion - it handles everything I’ve put to it so far, some even at native res (2560x1440).
I’m trying to justify buying PC versions of games I already own on console just because they’re cheap and they look better on PC than on my shitty TV. Like Sonic Generations! |
Generations must look beautiful on a competent PC.

After getting the Humble THQ Bundle, I finally got the opportunity to play Darksiders. Until now, I've only played the PS3 demo and was eager for more.
|
playstation all-stars: it's awesome. way better than SSB because of the roster and well pretty much everything else
|
I dunno, man. Brawl has a pretty kickass roster, but that's coming from a Nintendo fanboy.
How are the actual game mechanics? I found Brawl's biggest drawback was how damn spazzy the controls were. |
Well, it's not that I don't like Nintendo's characters as much it's just that I'm kind of sick of them, I really miss the Playstation mascots like: Sir Dan, Sly, Jak and Daxter. And they really are great characters as good as any of Nintendo's.
I honestly think the game is fun, I like how you K.O. your enemies by filling bars rather than knocking them over the edge, it really reminds me of Power Stone. The only problem I have with the game is some characters (Kratos, Radec, Raiden) are obscenely overpowered. I think it has a good amount of content too, the cutscenes are low budget as hell but they have heart. Sir Dan's cutscenes are particularly poppin: the opening cutscenes has him sitting in the Hall of Heroes and the ending cutscene concludes with "Although he hopes this will be his final adventure, he knows in his gallant heart that it will not." SQUEEE!! |
What's the single player like? Is it just arcade mode, or are there events and trials akin to Street Fighter or Smash Bros?
If I do get this game I'll probably play it online for the most part, but I do enjoy playing fighting games on my own as well. |

Compare that to running 1080p on a 27" monitor. Apple really knows how to make a good display, the pixel density is absurd and colors are so much brighter. And I swear the framerate is higher. |
Yeah, I've got XP running on my (well, my Dad's) Mac from 2008 and somewhat recent games still look really nice on it.
|
I remember hating on All-Stars because it looked like just a shameless copy of Smash Bros but I'm kinda wanting to play it and see for myself. How is Ratchet? I think I would play as him.
:
Yes I know most of them are owned by different companies and that's probably the reason why the characters aren't in the game. But still, if you knew that a franchise you now own used to be a classic Playstation era game, why wouldn't you let Sony put them in a fighting game? I think I'm missing something. And this is just coming from a self confessed Crash Bandicoot fanboy but Crash really should be in the game no matter what. He was the mascot for Sony back in the PS1 days. Same applies for Spyro. |
You gotta remember that this is the first in what will likely be a series (well, maybe) of fighting games. Remember Smash Bros on the N64? It didn't even have Wario!
And a lot of those characters are owned by companies other than Sony, I don't think they could get the rights if they wanted to at this point. |

But then Brawl came out and everything was great. :) |
I'm more irked that Raiden and Heihachi feature over Snake and Kazuya. Also, they used new Dante.
|
Ew. They did? Gross. Fucking Capcom, always trying to shove their new crap down our throats.
|
I finished Far Cry 3's story missions, didn't really expect it to be that good but it is actually really enjoyable, if a bit linear at times. I don't really want to spoil it since some of you might play it, but be warned: if you're waiting for Vaas (the villain in the cover art and in most of the trailers) to be a huge part of the story, prepare to be massively disappointed. At least I was.
I have still like 75% of the islands to explore, trying to collect a few rare animal hides and recover some of the lost letters. The letters are especially cool, they're basically small stories that reveal bits and pieces of what was going on in the islands during World War II. |

I completely forgot snake was in Brawl. That makes sense now.
You're right about Heihachi, but I still think Kazuya is more recognisable to people with little experience in the franchise, ie me. |
Wrote this post four times but it didn't take.
Playing Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi. The first Budokai Tenkaichi, for PS2. It's a solid, very fun, occasionally buggy fighter with a huge character roster and no plot. Ehh. |
Halo 4 multiplayer, I'm getting tired of the lag though.

VVVVVV question.
I've finished the game, but the map is not entirely explored. I read somewhere online that the aqua/teal section on the right can only be accessed if you find all the shinies. Is that correct? And what about the grey area at the top left? http://www.oddworldforums.net/attach...1&d=1354936274 |
The teal section is the bonus bit you unlock after getting all 20 trinkets.
I don't remember how the top-left bit works, but if you fill the rest of the map out and find all of the trinkets it will find itself. |

Most of them are fairly straightforward. Spend 10 minutes a day for a week on Veni Vidi Vici and you'll be surprised how close you can get. None of the others should take more than an hour to get into your muscle memory.
|
My time is more valuable than that.
|
Just played about two and a half hours of Star Wars: Battlefront 2 with my brother. Such a fun game, I don't understand why they never made a version for the 360. One of the best multiplayer games on the orginal xbox.

Playing a couple of different games, just got started on I Am Alive and started a new world on Terraria. Also been playing Gods Eater Burst on my PSP and Professor Layton: Curious Village on the DS. Budokai Tenkaichi 3 is one of my favourite ever fighters, great series. |

Fucking right they were. I loved piloting the different vehicles, and they had so many different ones.
It was also mad fun infiltrating enemy Star Destroyers and completely destroying everything from the inside. |
