I didn't even know that. :(

Yeah you could be a vampire in all the elder scrolls games, but there were certainly consequences for it. In morrowind at least, I recall no one liking you and of course you couldn't be outside when the sun was out. That mod looks super cool, can't wait to get my grubby hands on it.

Also, some games that look ridiculously bad: |
You could become a vampire in Morrowind and then get hated forever.
I hope Skyrim has stuff more in line with what Morrowind did than Oblivion, because |

The Oblivion mod looks sweet. There's another one called Nehrim, which though is a mod of Oblivion, in terms of it's canon, doesn't take place in the Elder Scrolls universe. IT EVEN HAS DWARVES MAN HAHAHAH Not to mention, the environs in game are very varied. Instead of miles of forest. |
The Batman thread died so I'll post this here:

Still looking forward to Skyrim, as well as Dungeon Siege II and Bioshock: Infinite. I think that's pretty much it. Oh, Saints Row : The Third sounds like it's going to be silly and fun.
|
I'm still looking forward to The Last Guardian because apparently I now love vaporware. Also, I no longer have a PS3, so I'm greatly looking forward to demanding it back from April if it ever does come out.

Oh, I forgot. Ms. 'Splosion Man comes out tomorrow. The reviews so far have been filled with praise, saying that it has everything that made 'Splosion Man fun but a thousand times more. I guess it's harder, longer, more fun, and has tons of new locations (as that was most people's bitch about the first game). Can't wait.

Sorry, was being a smartass.

Dunno if this has been posted yet. As someone who really wasn't interested in Bioshock, this looks pretty damn good.
|
Ha, I actually just finished watching that and had just copied the embed code. You beat me to it.
When I worked at Gamestop I pushed the hell out of Bioshock. If someone came in looking for a game with a good story, that's what I threw at them. Shooter? Same. Good length, rpg elements, or just something different? Bioshock. The sequel was pretty bad, but the first is definitely worth picking up and playing through if you never have. And Infinite? Man, that game just gets me all sorts of excited. |

I'd love to play the second one, but due to a strange glitch, I can't continue the game. The Little Sister is supposed to collect ADAM from a body and she never does that. And I can't be bothered with starting a new game anymore.
Anyways, this is getting off-topic a bit so here's a funny trailer for the upcoming Serious Sam game! |

It's weird how the Bioshock franchise relfects Halo so well.
|
Except that Halo's story has always been half-assed and stupid.
|
Yeah, but the first in both series were considered landmarks of their time. Looking back that's pretty much the only similarity, apart from online multiplayer being introduced in both sequels.

Also, I haven't watched that Bioshock Infinite video yet, but the other ones I've seen have been so clearly scripted and following a specific path that I can't imagine what the actual dynamic gameplay will be like. It just seems like it's going to be the sort of game where the designer wants to show off all his brilliant ideas, so it ends up being completely linear and the action periodically stops until you find the task you need to perform to be at the right place and the right time for the next scripted sequence to kick off. |
That was my fear at first as well, but apparently the player can go onto any available rail at any time. That could easily be bullshit though. I also don't know how that demo would play out if you could choose anything, I mean how would the player know the right ones? They could also do some bullshit like, "Oh Booker, that rail cant be used right now, its too dirty." I also don't like the fact that enemies can shoot on rails, but you can't. As far as Im aware you were hired to save this girl, so you must be trained in some sort of fashion, these people are just random rebels, yet seemingly posses more skill than you.
My biggest complaint about Infinite though is it taking many E3 awards that should have gone to Prey 2. |
Unless I'm mistaken, the character you play in Infinite is a disgraced Pinkerton agent.

The game's less pretty because hey, it's set ten years after the first. Of course it's going to be less pretty, the setting's designed from the ground up to look like things have gone to shit. And hey, at least the ending wasn't just an underwhelming boss fight and a 30-second CGI cutscene. |
