I want to ask Why is my pc version of abe exodus not working on my laptop? It is running on xp so i put it to run on win 95. It puts a error message and ask if i want to send an error report. So I decieded to put abe oddysee just to see if it is the same. Surprisingly it works! Is it just me or is other people having this problem with exodus?

And sorry, Ninjaxe, I don't know what is wrong. I only have the Playstation version. |
Ninjaxe, try to set it to Windows 98, I think the game was made to run mainly on that system, if not, I don't know, try searching about it on Google, a professional might suggest something in a random forum, you never know!
|
Search in the Oddworld Help forum - many people have had this problem in XP. Some have managed to solve it but others have had to give up.
|
I didn't have any issues with Exoddus. Lucky me. But if the switching to 95 or other things don't work, it may just be your version of XP or your computer.
|
I hope my copy of AE works on my laptop I'm getting next christmas, I'll die if it doesn't! At least when I have a laptop I can get on here a tiny bit when I'm on holiday...

MoxCo, I know that you are new, but Ninjaxe, you should know better. http://www.oddworldforums.net/forumdisplay.php?f=8 -for Ninjaxe http://www.oddworldforums.net/forumdisplay.php?f=15 -for MoxCo. Can we get back ontopic, please? Zerox, where did you get this info? I have never heard of any of this. The only time I have even seen the 'MameGame' mentioned was on the Greeter page. |
I attempted my best guess at your question on the last page, Cullen. It was pretty much all an educated guess...

Question on slogs in MO.
Slogs are in three levels in Munch's Oddysee The two slog huts and the Meep Village. By the time I got spooce in the first slog hut all the slogs were dead but in the second slog hut there is spooce in the begining so I droped some sligs in the pen and decided to kill some time. To make a long story short Abe had no problem killing the slogs in the village level but in the second slog hut he wouldn't kill them as he left their bodies. Why wont he kill the slogs in the slog hut? |
:
Second, I have no idea what you mean when you say "Abe had no problem killing the slogs in the village level but in the second slog hut he wouldn't kill them as he left their bodies. Why wont he kill the slogs in the slog hut?", seeing as you are Abe when you play the game, and have complete control over what he does. So I don't know what you mean by he had no problem killing them here, and wouldn't kill them here, as whether he kills them or not is completely up to you. |
I think he means making them pop when he depossesses them.
|
Well don't Slogies do that, too? He is saying in Meep Herder Village and there, only Slogies are appear. No Slogs.
EDIT: Nevermind, there are the giant Slogs and normal Slogs in the cave. |
-shivers- Oh, those big ones freaked me out the first time...I quickly shut the door leaving my mates in there with them. lol...
Why is that? When you leave possession of a Slig, they explode, as well as with the Glukkons. Oh wait, maybe because they are a big threat. But the wildlife is sacred. Even Slogs as well? That actually makes sense... |
They do blow into little chicken pieces. You probably just didn't notice it, but it happens.
|
Scrabs and Paramites didn't blow up. I didn't know Abe had the choice whether they did or not for a while...I just thought they were too strong to be blown up. I wished I could blow them up, so I could rid the area for easy passing through, but no.
|
Abe won’t blow them up because they’re wild creatures, but you can clear both areas. Possess Paramites and run them into mines. Possess Scrabs and get them to attack each other.
|
The problem is, that's not always possible.
You'd always be left with at least one Scrab, regardless. |
You could try and get a slig to kill it.
|
it must be that if there to strong thats why they can't be blown up. if they can be ran into mines they should be able to be blown up..i think.
|
:
And Paramites do indeed die if you walk them over land mines. |
Yeah, but I noticed the Sligs Weapons are NOT as strong as they once were. :P
|
Definitely, but that would make MO extremely hard with it being a 3-D game with tons of sligs in the same area. (more than four or five.)
Were there plans to have more Scrabs and Paramites in MO? Or was the final version of the game the only real plan for them? |
I am sure I speak for alot of game developers when I say, that they always have many ideas planned for the game, and end up doing things differently, for better of for worse. I am sure in the beginning they just wanted the game without Abe in the game. But they ended up putting him in there to keep old Abe fans alive. And also ended up putting Glukkons and the old Wildlife back into MO.
But that's just my opinion. I am sure they wanted to make the game set very differently from the first games. Like they did with Stranger. The only creatures in Stranger from old games are fuzzles. am I right? |
Fuzzles and Doc the Vyykker. It's always hard to remember him for some reason.
|
I think it's because nobody likes to use him on the crossbow, as he's not very good. Stick with the Boombats.
|
Well, I was speaking of Doc, but yes. Boombats and the upgraded Thud-slugs are the bomb. Nothing else to it.
|
Vykkers! Oh yeah! I forgot.
Fuzzles help sometimes. I just mass them onto the enemies. Boom bats are awesome! I like the Chipmunk, it says things like "you got something in your nose" lol |
:
As for whether there were plans for more scrab and paramite levels; you have to remember that MO is set in a more industrialised area than AO or AE. It's logical that there are fewer wildlife creatures. In addition, their puzzle possibilities are more limited in 3d. So I doubt that they had originally planned to see more of them. |
