Oh, challenge mode isn't too bad unless you play on 5* and everything kills you in 2 or 3 hits. Mind you, that's just 5*. The Eviscerator isn't too bad once you know what you're doing, especially when you have the endgame guns in challenge mode. If you're not doing a backflip at any point in that fight you're doing it wrong. Keep some ammo for the heavy hitters handy to take down his minions quickly. They have potential to hurt more than he does.
I thought you said that you'd taken Vox down on a fresh 5* playthrough. After many, many hours I had to give up on my dreams of a complete, fresh 5* playthrough because of him. |
I completed 24 on my PS2. It was a decent game but a little too repetitive by the end. I also played Drakengard 2, which is pretty good at what it does. It's like a mix between Lair and Dynasty Warriors. Shame it didn't get any sequels.
Need For Speed Hot Pursuit (2005) is fantastic. I love trying to get away from the police and the graphics look awesome on my PC (Nice on Xbox too). I also got to level 11 in World At War multiplayer. Amazing how much atmosphere it has, compared to the other games. For some reason I like it the most, more than MW1! |
I beat Rongo Lango in Klonoa. This game is really weird but also cute and fun.
I also got quite a few games for Christmas and one of those was Catherine for the 360 so I played a bit of it. Very quirky game, quite interesting so far. The gameplay might become repetitive later on but it is pretty fun and challenging, I started on the normal difficulty, but I did hear that even that mode can be really hard at times so I'll wait and see if I have to lower the difficulty (if that's even possible!). I did get a gold ranking for the first two levels though so I guess I'm doing okay. |
Dyna, I love Klonoa. I haven't played Door to Phantomile, but you should definitely try to find a copy of Lunateas Veil. It's noting groundbreaking, but it's lots of fun and usually cheap to pick up second hand.
I picked up a ShootMania beta key, so it tried that out last night. I was expecting Quakelike movement and was met with something that seems really counter intuitive. I spent almost 1.5 hours in the movement training map getting the feel of the gliding/sprinting mechanic. I haven't actually shot anyone yet. |
Botanicula. Well isn't that just the loveliest thing. It reminded me of Abe's Exoddus in places.
I found 114/123 interactions. I don't think this is really a game for completionists, though. |

I beat Final Fantasy VII yesterday after getting to the North Crater and basically forgetting about it for 3 months. I hit no obstacles fighting Sephiroth, though my main party seriously outclassed my other characters. I love this game and feel like I really accomplished something gamerly in beating it. Now I just need the gold chocobo and all that bullshit.
I started a new file on Final Fantasy Tactics Advance since my 40 hour save I exploited for a bunch of awesome shit got deleted under mysterious circumstances. I'm going to play the game normally with a 7 member team of a human illusionist (I lucked out on a random recruit after my 2nd or 3rd mission), a Nu Mou Black/White Mage, A juggler moogle with Black Magic, 2 Hunters/Ninjas (Marche/The Jesus being one of them) A Bangaa for melee murderating and support (somehow started with 138 speed which is very good for any class but rare for Bangaa and makes it invaluably murderous) and a Viera Sniper/Assassin because those are the only good class. I really like this game especially after absorbing so much spergtastic information about stat growth and exploits. I find the remake of the original FFT a little bit too slow for my taste (it literally slows down to like 3 FPS when you use any attack). And while not necessarily a game a friend and I got RPG Maker VX Ace which is wayyy different from the PS2 version from thousands of years ago. It's about as straightforward as MSpaint provided you understand the menus. Very easy to use but bloated with really generic anime artwork. Luckily you can import your own pictures of Gorillas, Marmosets and Weasels as placeholders for your characters. We're taking suggestions on stuff to make with it. |

My step dad got me Assassin's Creed 3, and Black Ops 2. I'm going to keep AC3, and return the other.
|
I've heard the story is banal, and the characters are unlikable.
|
The gameplay looked like a lot of fun, though. You can run through forests and tomahawk bitches in the skull. What's not to like?
|
The gameplay in AC1 looked like a lot of fun too.
I know 2 and especially Brotherhood improved it, I'm just saiyan. |
So I played AC3 the way I was supposed to up until I got to America, at which point I treated it like Grand Theft Auto, and started murdering people. It's fun, but I don't like the artificial constraint that keeps me from murdering tons of civilians.
|
You should enable your moral sense
|
I WANT TO COMMIT ATROCITIES
|
...and you should enable it fast
|
Wait. Is that like something that is actually in the menu options? If so, what does it do? Does it allow me to commit atrocities?
|
The first game let you murder with reckless abandon after completing the main storyline.
|
I have owned two Grand Theft Auto games, but have never completed a single mission in them. And I played them a lot.
|
Who plays Grand Theft Auto any more in a world where Saints Row exists?
|
Saints Row and GTA aren't even that similar to be honest.
|
One is a sandbox third-person shooter where you play as a gangster in a city.
The other is uh |
I haven't played a GTA game since Vice City.
|
I didn't find Vice City
|
I did not. But all I did in it was drive around, going on killing sprees, using the cheat codes to give myself all the weapons.
|
That's the correct way to play GTA games. There are some people who try to complete missions etc. but they don't know shit about GTA
|
I was doing it well.
|
Fly'n. Disappointingly, you spend most of the time walk'n.
You know Knuckles's gliding sections from Sonic & Knuckles? This is basically a game of that. Bounce, run, glide. Solve simple puzzles. It looks fairly nice, though all the art is quite lo-res. |

Started The Walking Dead game, finished Episode 1, great so far. You can get them all for $10 today on Xbox Live, good deal. |
I played through Castlevania: Lords of Shadow finally.
Pretty good game. |
Picked up FTL at long last on sale. Not today's sale. I bought it cheap yesterday, meager hours before it went uber-cheap.
I love it. It's everything I love about Gratuitous Space Battles rolled into a Roguelike. The crew micro-management is fantastic and fires can be stressful. Duking it out near a star is intense, especially when you don't accept a surrender request because they didn't offer any fuel. I was a bit disappointed the first time I turned down a surrender only to plunder the ship for a fraction of what they offered. The random encounters are fun and I'm worried every time I take a chance fighting some outer-space giant spider or exploring a derelict ship. This happened to me today after going through a Mantis sector, but I decided I'd sleep on it and play the rest out tomorrow. http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/3724/ftl1j.png I need a shop :( e: Nobody can appreciate my crew naming from that shot, but my third crew member was named Bexley. He was killed by a Mantis boarder a few jumps before that screen was taken. |
Been training my fighting skill with SSF4AE2012, Skullgirls, TTT2 and some other fighters.
|
I've been playing Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale on the PS Vita and it's actually pretty fun. So far, I've beaten the arcade mode with Raiden, Spike, Sir Dan and Dante. Can't really say how it compares to Super Smash Brothers because I've only played Brawl for a bit but I think they're both fun, maybe SSB is a bit better in certain aspects but PS All-Stars isn't bad by any means either.
|
I've been playing http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...centII_DOS.jpg and the music is awesome. One of my most favorite games [next to Oddworld]
|
My last GTA game was Vice City Stories on PSP but it was really fun. I liked roaming around and just listening to the 80s radio stations. Hotline Miami is crazy, I kind of like that you die almost instantly, it just really gets you thinking about how you're meant to approach certain enemies.
I've mostly been playing Skyrim. So far I'm about level 7 and have some nifty little spells. I mainly travel around the land, zapping wolves and skeevers with my flame spell. I also tend to use the Conjure Familiar spell and the Raise Zombie (nothing funnier than having a goat/elk/bandit follow you around and level up your stats too). http://25.media.tumblr.com/b6c5d9170...atjo1_1280.png Here's a picture of me zapping a mammoth (right before he sends me to meet my maker). http://24.media.tumblr.com/e963d3268...atjo3_1280.png Tried to take on a giant for the first time, with hilarious (ie painful) results. http://24.media.tumblr.com/a6c9610fd...atjo2_1280.png Managed to get a golden claw and escape from these traps and zombie things. Onward! |

It had to be done. Anyways, I've been playing MegaRace. So fun! Got to kill that last car! http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...f/Megarace.jpg |
Played a game of Halo 4 CTF and came in second place. Go me.
