The game's supposed to be out now, right? On steam?
Why isn't it giving me the download option? |
It's not out until 6pm GMT or something like that
|
Yeah, the store page tells you when it will unlock. Shame there's no pre-loading, but anyone complaining about that will forget about it once they finally have the game.
Heh, I'm actually really excited about this. :) |
:
No need for such hostility. I want a lot of things. Like to win Lotto. Doesnt mean you should be upset just because im dissapointed they didnt put something in. I just think that if theyre going to mention stuff like "advanced speedrunning techniques" then they shouldnt stop halfway. Ive put a thousand hours in the game. A few more wont kill me, even if Im not gonna like figuring this stuff out. My opinion. Yours is probably different. |

|
I still can't download it, shit....
|
The game loads levels as quick as your hard drive (or SSD) allows it to.
|
:
Now for fuck sake keep your speedrunning crap in its own topic. |
:
In the end it was just me nitpicking. There are other things they could have put in like mod support, but me requesting a feature makes me entitled. @Havoc. If you time from moment you gain control to moment you lose control, then load times DEFINATELY matter. If the PC version loads even 2 seconds faster, thats at least 2 minutes faster than the ps4 version. We cant keep that competitive if noones on a fair playing field. And this never started out on speedrunning. It was me nitpicking about load time variations. I never intended to veer into speedrunning itself. Xavier asked about IGT so I answered. |
Apparently Steam is letting some people install N'n'T (not me yet though, perhaps the servers are busy). It might be worth trying now if you're waiting for it.
|
Installing now :D omigodomigodomigod I've been waiting for this day since they announced it was "Abe HD".. hnnnnnnnnnngggg
|
I'm downloading it now...
|
Why can't I download it yet ;_;
|
Restarting Steam didn't help, I had to restart my entire computer to get it to work - Try that if you can't download it yet. 4.7 GB download. :)
Slow internet is slow. |
Ditto.
E: You think yours is bad? I bridged two connections; my 4G from my phone (broadcasting as WiFi) and my shitty Plus Net broadband via ethernet. Two connections and look at my DL speed http://puu.sh/gchPX/366b9eface.png |
That is kinda slow, but if it makes you feel better I have both router and phone line problems, so keep being disconnected every few minutes. :P
Oh well, been waiting years, so what's a few hours more? |
:
EDIT: I literally stared at it for a bit and the install button popped up suddenly before my eyes. It was kinda magical. |
40 minutes left for my download to finish, hurray!
|
Lolol my laptop is literally too shit to run it. I get about 5 fps.
Brb crying. |
downloading it now, couldn't possibly be anymore excited.
|
Can i just say, love the game.
My only problem is that i didnt know how much the death jingle meant to me until it had gone :( Also when you run sligs off ledges they lose all horizontal momentum and fall straight down instead of in an arc |
Welp i found a glitch in the pc version, it seems that when you are hanging under a slig and pull up and drop in front of him while he shoots you will not get hurt (Now the game needs to be at 60fps for it to work every time)
i recorded a little video that kinda shows how it works, the drop in fps due to Fraps makes it more likely for you to get hit. Glitch |
I miss sharpshooter sligs already. They knew how to activate flying mines correctly as well.
|
Wow it runs really smooth (apart from the FMVs) - Seems I can run it on full graphics settings with my 4 year old rig (3.2 GHz 6 core AMD CPU, Radeon 9870 1GB VRAM, 8GB RAM) as well, and it only taxes it about as much as Team Fortress 2 does, apparently (not much at all).
I spent this afternoon replaying the original AO and N'n'T handles differently of course - Not that it's a bad thing, just gotta get used to it. But it's really nice how you can rebind all the keys to the original ones. :) But yeah, I'm pleased as punch, thanks so much, JAW! :) |
I bought a new laptop to play it. You better be impressed, JAW.
|
I spent the past year upgrading my PC. Partly to play it, but mainly I want to brag about how awesome my PC is now. Feels goodman. Especially after having a 6 year old craptop for so long.
I'm debating whether or not to play it tomorrow as that's when my awesome new monitor should arrive, at the moment I'm using a massive LCD TV which is a pixelated mess when I sit this close to it. Does anybody know if NNT supports 21:9 resolutions? |
I had a friggin amazing laptop for about 11 months and then I spilt pineapple juice all over it and wrote it off. This one has 8gb ram though so if it still can't play games I'll probably go and bomb Dell.
|
The amount of RAM doesn't really have anything to do with how well it can run games, though. Poor Dell :(
|
The cutscenes run really poorly compared to the game running at 60 fps at 1920x1080 maxed out, just got past the secret of sweat, tears and pain in Paramonian Temple and I'm loving it so far.
Monsaic Lines felt so incredibly alive compared to the original and it really felt like I was trodding through a native area untouched by the industrials *even though that was the gist of it in the original too, this time it really hit me home |
:
|
Fuck I ended up going to bed before it launched and now I have to wait for it to download :(
|
|
:
|
I want translations!!!
|
:
By the way, how do shadows look to you all? I have them turned up to max, but they still look quite aliased and stuttery. It's mostly noticeable in Monsaic Lines and Paramonia, as they're quite brightly lit areas. |
My craptop seems to be a bit too shitty to run the game at 60fps so I'll probably have to wait for the Xbox One version to play. Oh well! Hopefully it's out by the end of March.
|
So I've uploaded the first part of my let's play! I had some trouble with the controls (i couldn't figure how to open the trapdoors to the secret areas at the beginning but anyway).
Once it has finished being processed by you tube, it will be published here http://youtu.be/Gt3PRqi_JRk |
I added my positive review to the huge mass of positive reviews.
@Manco - I've not noticed anything unusual with the shadows so far, they look as they should do to me but I have only got as far as Stockyard Escape. E: Also, this thread has some interesting info on the cutscene framerate issue. |
The game itself looks great to me, very nice and crisp. The cutscenes seems crappy in comparison though. Framerate seems locked at 24ish and the intro cutscene especially is insanely bright (to the point where I couldn't make out the 'Scrab Cakes' poster).
Also the game crashed after about half an hour... There's one slight disappointment for me, and that is the limitation of key customization. It's still somewhat restricted and currently not possible to make the keyboard layout identical to the original as far as I can tell. And aiming thrown objects still has to be done with either the mouse or separate keys, you can't bind the movement keys to aiming up/down for some reason. Other than that, great port which I am enjoying immensely once again. |
