I mean that I hate the NEW OWI and what Lanning became! AN EA-ist. EA Games SCREWS UP GAMES SINCE 1982.

Shut up.

I don't understand why he'd go back to EA after what they did to MO and SW. Won't believe it until I see evidence.

abe is now! 06-24-2008 11:57 AM

I think they have some good reasons for having done it. We'll miss him :(!!! I loved how he gave Abe a voice and how he created the big world of Oddworld... what he thought, characters' names, their appearance, their gamespeak, the environments, the emotions.

*crying out load*

Wings of Fire 06-24-2008 12:08 PM

In other news Oddworld Nod's Oddysee has just been announced cross console, while Squeek has been confirmed as Stranger and Citizen Siege will not only be set on Oddworld but explain once and for all why Abe really has his lips stitched up.
If BM told you people the earth was flat would you believe him, I mean seriously?

*Laughing out loud*

Wil 06-24-2008 12:15 PM

This is so worth it. :D

Nate 06-24-2008 04:36 PM

Oh, wait. One of those items mentioned in WoF will actually be confirmed in my inexorably Coming Soon interview with Lorne.

Oddsville 06-24-2008 05:38 PM

But which? The suspense kills!

horia_roks 06-24-2008 09:03 PM

Fuzzle Guy, you can't ban me! You're just a member.
Oh, and who is BM from WoF's post?

caracal 06-24-2008 09:37 PM

http://oddworldlibrary.net/archives/...=CAAO0008.jpg1 About this piece...who's that Glukkon with a mouthpiece on his face? he looks sorta tribal to me, and I LIKE IT! anybody's got any info on him?

horia_roks 06-24-2008 09:55 PM

It's an old concept for Glokkons.

Nate 06-24-2008 11:12 PM

From the version of Abe's story where he was a fisherman and...
:

In the case that he was a fisherman, the meat processing plant was more of a religious institution that was dictating policy over basic 'human rights'.

That was meant to be a Glukkon religious leader.

Oh, and who is BM from WoF's post?

You don't know who Bullet Magnet is?!

OddYouko 06-27-2008 08:15 AM

Stupid question...how old is Sam? And when she get's to what 40 years of age then what will the Glukkons do? Are they keeping her alive so she'll live past 40?

Slaveless 06-27-2008 11:56 AM

I'm not sure of her age, and I think it might be possible that Mudokon queens live past the workers life span. By the end of her life, I think she would already have a child. But when that child does come, by then they probably might want to find a way to keep Sam reproducing until the successor can do the same job.

Of course, Nate might know a thing or two about this. We will just wait and see on what his article says.

Hulaabeo 06-27-2008 04:35 PM

In SW are the Upgraded versions of the live ammo like the Rabid Fuzzle wild or are they slightly mutated versions?

Wil 06-27-2008 04:41 PM

Hmmm. I forget exactly which are found where. Some are sold in the General Store and Black Market. Some are found in crates. Some are hunted in the wild. Mostly, I think, you breed them yourself in your breeder bag.

Nate 06-27-2008 06:16 PM

From memory, once you get the updated versions, you no longer see those creatures in the wild. As Max says, you just use the breeder bag to get more ammo.

Bullet Magnet 06-28-2008 02:00 PM

You still find them in the wild, but they're not upgraded until you catch them.

40 is the life-expectancy of the worker classes. I think queens live much longer.

who is BM from WoF's post?

*hurt*

Oh, an astrozoologists have finally ascertained the sex of the great A'tuin, the world turtle. It's a girl. Nice one Max.

MeechShrykull1029 07-03-2008 02:15 PM

What are Stingrings. I've read something about them in an old thread, but no one said what they were.

Wil 07-03-2008 03:02 PM

We don’t know what the are.

OddYouko 07-05-2008 08:08 AM

I don't know if I've asked this question before but...
In Abe's Exoddus I forget which clip it was but it shows a poster of a Mudokon pop but it looks like the Japanese version..why?

Xavier 07-05-2008 08:38 AM

Probably because you have a re-release where they changed it to make it a little less gore.

OddYouko 07-05-2008 08:45 AM

Then does that mean there are some Abe's Exoddus games with the AO Mudokon pop poster?

Xavier 07-05-2008 09:01 AM

Sorry I misread and thought you were talking about AO...
Well I assume they changed the logo from one game to another to make it less gore. You wouldn't expect anyone buying that product with such a poster, would you?

Wil 07-05-2008 12:06 PM

Assuming you know why the graphic was originally changed for the Japanese release of Abe’s Oddysee, then the new Mudokon Pops poster was used in AE so that they wouldn’t need to change it when localizing the game for the Japanese market. Same reason we got the three-fingered Mudokons, although that has a little more Oddworld philosophy behind it. If you want an in-universe explanation, Xavier rightly points out that RuptureFarms would not have stuck with their gory prototype. A severed head does not good advertising make. The redesign makes it as ostensibly cartoonish and appealing as the posters for Scrab Cakes and Paramite Pies, while retaining that on-edge undertone.

MeechShrykull1029 07-08-2008 04:33 PM

What are Fleech Farms?

Nate 07-08-2008 04:40 PM

Places where people farm fleeches?

What are you talking about?

Bullet Magnet 07-09-2008 08:56 AM

My Google search yields but one hit.

Jordan 07-09-2008 09:39 AM

This is plain evidence that MS makes up things to ask about.

MeechShrykull1029 07-09-2008 02:03 PM

I found something about Fleech Farms in a thread about SoulStorm Kennels. It didn't really explain what Fleech Farms were. So stop assuming, Jordan. Here's the link:
http://www.oddworldforums.net/showthread.php?t=12366

Wil 07-09-2008 02:28 PM

It explains in that very thread. It’s just a term someone made up to refer to Scraborama. Which isn’t a Fleech farm, so it doesn’t even make sense.

Nate 07-09-2008 05:22 PM

At Necrum, when you first see the slap trap, you put your hand on the rune stone it says something about Fleech farms. Sounds cool. :)

I suspect he's getting confused about the Monsaic Lines story stone:

:

Single blue hands
Shall bear the brands
And unleash the power
To destroy false lands.
Glukkon ministers will fume in alarm
As the Shrykull awakened
Halts the flesh farm.

If Interns mouths are stitched up how can they eat?

used:) 07-10-2008 07:48 AM

They can still open their mouths. Their lips are stitched just to keep them from whistling. It probably hurts to open their mouths, but they aren't going to stop eating and breathing. They might get their nourishment from the pills the Vykkers give them. I'm not sure.

Wil 07-10-2008 12:46 PM

I’m guessing they can slip in straws, tubes, and pills in between the stitches.

Nate 07-10-2008 05:23 PM

Or just have a feeding tube direct to the stomach, as is done to hospital patients who have limited ability to chew or swallow.

Oddsville 07-10-2008 05:42 PM

Im sure the Vykkers just give them some type of cholesterol packed pill, injection, or something of the sort. The Vykkers have to keep their cheap labor alive somehow.

Bullet Magnet 07-10-2008 06:29 PM

Interns are not born naturally, but are meat slaves manufactured by Vykkerz for low-brow, ethically questionable work. Inanimate by themselves, the true slave is unique lifeform that exists entirely as sound. It's entire structure is appropriated as waves through a medium, generating a rudimentary intelligence and, when listened to, can animate a body whether its owner likes it or not. These little-known, nameless "organisms" have been captured by the Vykkerz and imprisoned by converting them into silent data recorded on disc, their once beautiful analogue composition twisted an distorted into a crude, digital mockery. By playing these discs on the Intern's walkmans, the meat is animated and performs the required labour, the sound creature is controlled by a heavy-bass and high tempo backtrack superimposed upon its data.

You should really be a science fiction writer, you know that?

Bullet Magnet 07-12-2008 05:34 AM

It's a stream-of-consciousness thing.

Note to future readers: my previous post was bullshit.

OddYouko 07-14-2008 06:02 PM

Is there a FMV in Munch's Oddysee that shows a Mudokon child? If so which one is it?
