Frozen cloning, eh...Meeches, anyone? Good concept for the RPs...
|
yes, sounds cool, but how would you get it to continue with a story line?
|
:
My other feeling is that this particular area is where the Gabbit eggs were suppose to be stored. Sort of like silk worms, where they are placed under machines (I can't remember the name) that either slow down their growth rate or speed it up. In this case, the eggs were stored in a freezing chamber to make sure they don't go bad. (The orginal plot had that Vykkers preserved the eggs and tried to get Munch to fertilize them in their big scheme of saving technology, and making a Gabbit race that serves them. Sort of like domestic chickens.) Of course, that was cut out. At least that's what I feel like... |

Oh that makes sense, thanks heaps for the answers everyone.
I never knew there was a scene like that planned, it seems rather interesting. I'm quite upset MO couldn't be everything that was planned, but maybe OI will make it up some day. I have another question however: I've always wondered what are those orange lightsaber things the sligs and expecially big bro have. They are used to direct the blimps when Lulu arrives, but since to my memory, in MO most of them seem to have it, and it is in the concept art of the big bro sligs aswell, so what are they, and what is there purpose? I would of thought weapon but they're never used as one. |
I always thought those orange things were just lights, like a lamp but in stick form.
|
Hey all, quick question: Do the PSX versions of Abe's games have downgraded graphics?
thanks! |

|
I have a question, its just something I've been wondering lately
In Munch's oddysee, when Abe and Munch get to the Almighty Raisin at one point Munch says "No no no no im not going back there" and (I think) the Raisin replys "Listen to me gadget top, and you listen good" Im not too sure if he calls Munch a gadget top or if im mishearing it cause he could be saying something like "Gabbit" not gadget. Im just assuming he says gadget top because he has the sonar in his head (so he has a Gadget on the top of his head - Gadget top, get it?). Another reason is because he has a nickname for Abe (stitch lips) so he gave Munch one aswell I know this is proberly a really easy queston to answer but everytime I see that scene it always makes me think about it and it's driving me insane, please help me |
That's a good question. I've never been sure what he said there.

Another thing about the dialogue. In the Good Ending movie, when Abe and Munch are on the blimp, Abe says "Y'know, most o' the time, when I leave a mean place like that... It blows up." then Munch says something that sounds like; "Well, 'dot fussals' got their own plan."
I don't think he actually says dot fassals, but this is what I'm trying to work out. What DOES he say? |
:pI think he said "Well, dat fuzzles' got their own plan", :Das in they set the bomb that killed Irwin and Humphrey.......Wait a minute, they have no limbs or hands, how could they set a bomb?!
|
The Raisin calls Munch ‘Gadget Top’.
Munch says ‘Da Fuzzles got deir own plan.’ One would presume he helped the Fuzzles to loot the armoury. As the Shaman tells Abe, Munch has some ‘personal business to attend to,’ i.e. revenge. |
Ya and I love the fact you don't play that part but instead play the section as Abe, even though the game is called Munch's Oddysee!!!... Anyway do any of you wiser Oddworld fans know why in MO they decided to dumb down the gamespeak? I hate it, maybe something about it beind 3D? I know it's been stated a millions times but god MO sucks.
|
Here's a question, Why are Munch's Oddysee and Stranger's Wrath restricted to xBox?
|
Munch's Oddysee: because the XBox was deemed the only platform at the time capable of delivering their vision (which didn't actually happen) and a deal was made with Microsoft that it would be a launch title and that the next several Oddysee titles would be XBox exclusive.
Stranger's Wrath: because EA wouldn't complete its PS2 port. |
Thanks.
:
Correct me if I'm wrong, but what does xBox have that PS2 doesn't? I guess what I'm trying to say is, "why couldn't the PS2 of delivered their vision"? |
The PS2 had less memory, no hard drive, less powerful processor and worse graphics.
|
Oh, I thought it would be something like that. But I still choose PS over xBox any day..
Thanks. :D |
:
Xbox will always win over the Playstation. |
In terms of "look" and "style", the Playstation wins no doubt.
Plus, I've grown up using anything PS (started on a PS1), and that isn't about to change. |
:
Unfortunately, the deal OWI struck with Microsoft required them to deliver a launch title, and this deadline didn’t provide enough time to turn these ideas into workable gameplay. |
I gots another queston, this one I don't think has a proper answer,
How do Abe & Munch survive the fall from the poop shoot (Or at the very least the botton on viker's labs)? Same thing in Abe's Oddysee when he sees the moon and falls, AND AGAIN at the begining of Abe's Exoddus when he doesn't quite keep his blanance and falls, then the game starts and hes perfectly ok. Only 1 way could he survive all those times.... Cut scene powers |
If you squint really hard, you can see that their fall was broken by a passing flock of really soft birds.
|
:
|
If you watch the FMV from AO, you'll remember that Abe didn't survive his fall. He died and Bigface resurrected him. Perhaps he now has some Captain Jack Harkness-style resistance to falling death.
|
Hmm, but how did Munch survive?
And Abe would die at several times from AE I assume, from high ledges, so how comes his resistance wears off in those times? The answer, it's a video game, and it's oddworld, it doesn't have to make sence. That answer realy pissed me off when I was listening to Aux Chant Elyse in French class, and it goes I have a meeting with the crazy people in my basement, so sorry for having to use that answer, but it's true. *Edit* Another question, why are the Interns so loyal to the vykers if they seem to abuse them more than the muds, with sewing up there lips properly, making them work in dangerous positions, and dismembering their legs, and why does abe and the muds make no efforts to save them, or at least relate to them, and in fact kill them. I've always kinda like the interns and felt sorry for them, but I heard somewhere they are releated to the Vykers, and that could explain things, but raised questions such as how and why did the Vykers take leadership to the interns, and why or have the Interns excepted this slavery? To me they represent a link between Mudokons and Sligs, so maybe they have some of the privelleges that Sligs and industrialists have, but then again, didn't the muds? Also, there has been the question of good industrialists, but what about fundimetally bad or evil natives? Have they ever been explored or thought of? Then again, is the octigi technically native? *Spoiler* Secto didn't seem to industralistic swimming in the water and all. |
Just as being loyal to the Magog Cartel gives Sligs access to the weaponry, mobility, and power they love, upholding the principles of the Vykkers gives Interns access to the designer pharmaceuticals and animal cruelty they crave. I’m sure Abe would take the time to feel sorry for the state of their race if they weren’t all trying to kill him on sight.
|
Yeah, you're right, thanks.
But why are they loyal? Ofr the rewards no doupt. Are there any natives known to be in the same situation as interns, like muds who are loyal to their glockon masters or something? |
Re-education of slaves makes them believe that their life is the way it should be, and that it is a good thing. Happy, accepting slaves are less likely to rebel. Unfortunately, this persuadable nature works both ways.
|
So you mean that the interns could be persuaded to dissobey?
So if another creature co worked in rapture farms, and tried to escape, mudokons would be the enemy, hypothetically? |
If they believed that there was more to life, then yeah, they would escape.
Mudokons are the enemy. They have started a full out attack on the Magog Cartel. Yet just because Abe escaped, doesn't mean others haven't. In the Stockyards, you see many dead Mudokon bodies on a stick. Which are probably Mudokon who tried to escape. That doesn't make Mudokons the enemy if they escape. If masses of them escape successfully and destroy facilities, then yes, they are the enemy. |
I always thought those bodies were simply executed mudokons put up on display for would-be escapees. "Abandon hope" sort of thing.
Oh, and by "slaves" I meant mudokons. I firmly believe that Interns are not slaves. |
Oh ok.
But what I meant before was if say there was a speacies called bob working in rapture farms that found out that they would become killed off, would the mudokons, like the interns, stand in their way? I can see all of your logic though, and I'm aware that since my above question hasn't happened and probably won't, it doesn't matter too much. |
No. The Interns are the Vykkers' equivalent of sligs, not mudokons. Vykkers keep mudokon slaves too, you know.
|
You're all right, lol.
I was just interested by the interns stickhed lips and limbs, but that has all been explained. thanks. :) Another question, out of curriosity, was there a last minute change in the bolomites design. And I heard there was a plan for a dragonfly looking creature, in MO, is that true? Sorry for my pointless questions lol. |
the hell im back to answer some questions. only AE and AO gameplay o_O
AO: 1. Do I need to kill around 70 mudokons or exactly 98 mudokons in order to get inf grenades? (HINT: When you load a save file WITH THE BONUS, and if you go to a place that has contained rocks or meat or grenades, you will get infinite of one of those depending on the place! ) 2. Wasn't there a glitch in Paramonia, where you need to mimick mudokons, and then when they get real angry, you immediatly run and then they don't shoot. Ye, how do I do the right timing for the glitch? If you don't understand this question, just put "What?" as an answer for this question. xD 3. How was the mudokon handprint made in the Moon? (if this was answered, it's because i dont read entire EXTREMELY POPULAR topics that has so many posts. lol) 4. In the first-second fmv in the game, after the Abe passed by, was the poster actually hologramed or a technology? 'Cause I thought it was only a poster o_O Or if it was just a screen beam from the camera, if you know what i mean. AE: 1. With the invincible cheat code, how come I still die after from long falls (BUT WE DO KNOW PITS KILL US ALWAYS!) 2. In the necrum mines of the boiler room, what hazards will appear after all wheels are turned and the time is up? o_o I'm too afraid to check it out. xD 3. When abe escaped from the FIRSTEST boiler room, how come he became black, and then went back to his original self (except that his nuts got cracked x.x)? 4. (halfy MO and AE) Did soulstorm brew continued into the Munch's Oddysee? these are my 8 questions. I made corrections this time. |

let me explain to you in question #1 of AO.
If you meant to impossible kill all mudokons in the First Area of the game, IT'S POSSIBLE If you leave the stage, they DIE...how though? o_O and some more corrections. i mistaken on saying paramonia in question #2 and also, what about the FIRST mimick mudokon after two screens of Monsanic Lines? and the other mimickers that doesn't have a gap between them? because only gaps solve my problem to the glitch :fuzmad: |
:
For example the secret where you're chased by a Scrab and Muds are above you. There's nothing that can kill them. |
