So he still breaks into R.Farms

In OA1 no.

STM 11-23-2010 08:07 AM

Still, I enjoy playing the game...I can't post the link for where I play it but online there is a site.

Crashpunk 11-23-2010 12:27 PM

I use an Game Boy Emulator however i'm not allowed to post a link because its the rules.

Xavier 11-23-2010 09:50 PM

Just for the record:

:

Do not share, link to, or explain or suggest how to obtain illegal copies of Oddworld games [...]

Asmoden 11-24-2010 05:07 AM

Got your point Xavier, but considering how much money we have spent for oddworld merchandise (just bought the whallet killing folio edition), maybe we deserve a little bonus especially if you keep in account we didn't intend to buy the game to being with and, that it's an outdated one.

Xavier 11-24-2010 05:27 AM

Just don't speak about it publicly...

STM 11-24-2010 07:46 AM

Yeh Asmoden to be fair I don't play the game illegally if it is illegal because I feel I deserve a bonus, I'm just part Irish ergo a gippo

Is the Folio Edition not enough for you?

That's not the point, i still have to receive the folio edition but that's an amazing thing to have, what i whant to say is that we all hightly support oddworld even purchaising multiple copies of the same game for different supports(PC-PS) so playing something not anymore on the market like OA1 whon't damage oddworld finances.

I was just asking you to follow the forum's rules. Nothing else.

STM 11-25-2010 07:36 AM

I think Asmoden was sort of replying to me Xav.

Asmoden 11-26-2010 08:28 AM

Someone know the meaning of: "Oddworld games have sold over 4.2 million units and climbing."
Is the game selling well?

STM 11-26-2010 08:55 AM

Yeh, Tomb Raider 1 for PS1 sold 7 million units and MW2 sold 4.8 million units so that's a decent number

Nate 11-26-2010 03:22 PM

Although you must take in to account that that number is for all four games, spread across a decade. It's good but not as good as other games.

Also, I suspect most of those 4.2 mill sales are AO and AE.

Asmoden 11-26-2010 04:24 PM

If by "other games" you mean something popular like tomb rider i guess i'm happy about it.
And about AO and AE they were very well publicized and OI still diden't start switching game consoles at that time.
My guess is that (other than us ultra fans) for the most part AO and AE players are completly different than SW ant MO ones since nearly no one can afford to buy a new game platform to play a single game.
That being said i'm expecting a huge boom in sales for the oddboxx if it will be well publicized:)
Hope they will not make the same mistake selling the oddboxx only on stream (i don't have a credit card like most others whanna be oddworld players).

STM 11-27-2010 04:34 AM

It's all gonna be digitally distributed I believe Asmoden but I agree, dig distribution is hard for me too

Wil 11-27-2010 05:01 AM

You’d better get used to it, digital distribution is growing rapidly and is the future of acquiring software and digital media. You don’t even need a credit card, a debit/bank card will do.

The titles will be able to buy via all major online outlets, either individually or as a four pack!

So OddBoxx is not Steam-Only.

enchilado 11-27-2010 06:53 AM

I just hope there'll be a way to play the goddamn thing on Linux.

So OddBoxx is not Steam-Only.

That's what i keep asking on the official site, but since today no answers:fuzsad:

And Max the Mug you are absolutly right thought as a serious oddworld fan i would like to have a real thing and not only stream data.

lismati 11-27-2010 10:56 AM

Read first comment, and whole article about OddBoxx on oddworld.com and you will know everything,

Bullet Magnet 11-27-2010 03:48 PM

Selling via retail outlets is what got them into their mess in the first place.

abe is now! 12-06-2010 01:13 AM

Hey guys can't remember last time I posted in this thread! Did you miss me? Obviously no, my question were annoying... so here's one! Do you remember when Glukkon were recruiting Mudokons in the desert to work in SoulStorm Brewery? Where did they find them? How did they bring them in that place?

Thanks :)

STM 12-06-2010 01:57 AM

Maybe it's just some mudokons wandering from some Scrabanian temple or something

Nate 12-06-2010 03:01 AM

That clip was set quite some time in the past. Presumably, they would have set up their 'bar' near a Mudokon camp. And they would have some sort of transportation too, whether it's trains or trucks or simply forcing the muds to march to the factories.

They weren't just recruiting for the Brewery, btw. They were recruiting for all industry.

My natural question now is why didn't OWI ever think about showing some Mudokon's camps in AE?

Asmoden 12-06-2010 07:02 AM

AE was meant to be AO expansion.
My guess is they tried to make the game really similar to AO keeping new major developements for the next main game MO.

Nate 12-06-2010 04:37 PM

Also because there really weren't all that many native Mudokons and the free ones had only excaped a day or two previous.

lismati 12-07-2010 05:53 AM

I wonder why Monsaic Lines are still standing. It's so close to free-fire zone, and there are native muds there. Why didn't the Glukkons destroy it?
