I have yet another question myself. When I look at the Vykker Surgeon, I see that there is something odd about him (that makes him different from the rest). Does this Vykker have four arms or three? Because in every picture I see him in, he seems to have three. Is he just hiding one or did he have a little accident?
|
Hmmm, give me a picture of him.
|
Well, this is from the offical website.

Yes, he has four arms. It's very hard to see at first. Look at the bottom of his frontal left leg (his left).
|
Ah, thanks. I wonder why he is always limping it.
|
Is he I didnt notice in SW.

What was Roid supposed to look like? Can someone post an early sketch of him?
|
I don't have the book, but I do know that the Roid was suppose to be some sort of transformation that Munch should have gone through in MO. It was sort of like steriods, that Munch would get them and become some sort of Roid. Kind of like the Hulk. Yet it was almost uncontrolble, so it was cut out of the game, like all the other things in MO that were suppose to be in the game.
|
Is Irwin (the vykker) a female?I think it is because it sounds like one (I called Irwin an "it" because I don't know the gender)
|
All Vykkers are asexual. That's why they talk and almost move like a female in a way.

Ack! Wasn't Roid just Munch only more muscular? Are you sure that isn't just a concept design? That Roid reminds me of the Alien from the Alien movies.

I took one look at the Roid and thought, 'That could have kicked butt in MO.' But I'm just curious why he doesn't appear to have eyes. Yet I agree with Used, seems a little Alien to me.

No, it's that Munch had eyes. Why did the special steriod operation cause his nervous system to use their extra senses more often? It doesn't make sense all that much.
Also, here's my question. If Glukkons can't see bare sunlight, than why was Lulu on the balcony on his blimp? Is it because he is like Phlug, who can resist sunlight, or the fact that he is wearing sunglasses have anything to do with it? Also, in AO, there are certain signs on the walls sometimes, like in the Stockyards, or in Zulag 4. They say 'No Mudokons', although there already are one in the bounderies. Are those Mudokons on punishment or something? Or the fact that in Zulag 3 there are guards there the reason? But there aren't in the Stockyards, so is there any theories in why those Muds got chosen to be in a forbinned place? Plus, when you get furthur into Rupture Farms, the New n' Tasty signs are replaced by Mudokon Pops. Why would the Glukkons have them up there when they already know that one of their Mudokons escaped just for looking at it? |
The Glukkons being in the sun thing was a minor glitch. Nothing more, nothing less.
|
It was at sunset in that clip, and Phleg being outside selling brew... I'm sure the benefits of that enterprise outweigh the difficulties.

Nate, please do not to post pictures from the book, it's against the Rules and the Law...
:
Used, are you basing your info off of Dippstikk's old drawing? Cause his drawing was very inaccurate. |
No, I saw an image by OWI with Munch as a very muscular form of himself. Well, at least I think I did.
|
Wow...cool! Hey, provide it for us if you ever think that you stumble upon it again, okay?:p

Wow, okay. Well, I feel like an idiot, and I'm very sorry for criticizing you about that.
|
the one dipstick did was real cool and so was the art of oddworld one.
|
Ok, I have a few questions...
1) Just curious as to why OWI decided to change composers after AE? (I doubt anyone would actually know the answer to this but you never know!) 2) Why are there sligs in Scrabania / Paramonia / Mudomo Vaults / etc.? Are they sent there by various facilities in order to "recruit" native mudokons as slaves? 3) Are the creatures of Oddworld forced into there jobs depending on what species they are? As in; are glukkons always determined to become CEO's of companies, vykkers to become scientists, chroniclers to become accountants or lawyers, etc.? |
1) Do you mean musical composers? Because I'm not aware that anyone other than Michael Bross did any music for them.
2) In Paramonia and Scrabania they were sent to find wildlife for Rupture Farms, and are still outposts used by the Magog Cartel. They are sought after by sligs because no one will catch them sleeping on the job. The Vaults are part of Necrum, which during AE was under the questionable management of the Magog Cartel. The would have been there to guard the slaves and to scout out the area, when they trapped the spirits in the ghost traps. You don't actually see them in the vaults (if my memory serves correctly) other than in the level ending sprint, where the mines had actually expanded partially into the vault. 3) I don't think that they are forced to do it, but those jobs are what appeals to those species the most. Glukkons like moolah but can't do any manual work, so they seek out management of profitable coorporations. The sligs are not very smart, but are sold by Skilllya to the Cartel, and so are employed as guards and yes-men (who befoul anything more than a menial task), and Wolvarks are similar. The Vykkers successfully found a way to make their sadistic tendancies pay by enterring vivisection (I would have suggested dentistry). There are exceptions: Headley Vykkers is a Auctioneer, Lulu's Valet is a... well, a valet, and previously hosted the sadistic industrial show Name That Trauma! and there is also the Newscaster slig for M.O.M. |
Thanks for those answers Bullet Magnet. As for the musical composers I'm pretty sure that Ellen Meijers composed the music for AO and AE, whilst Michael Bross did the music for the other two games...
|
wow! The industrial theme for this forum got upgraded. It looks neater. When this happen? I am going to keep like this for while now :)
|
Can you explain what you mean? I don't see anything different.
I always wondered this. Do Outlaws have queens? Because I always heard that Jo Mama gave birth to the Outlaws. |
Heh, heh. I think I may have started that idea. Jo'Momma is the only (?) female outlaw we saw, and the Clakkerz and outlaws all said she had many sons. All the outlaws in her gang are credited to be her children, but I know of no conclusive evidence that she is a queen, or that the outlaws have queens.
Know this: Of the five basic outlaw types: Hunchback tusken, hunchback orange, Hunchback nailer, Yellowhead (Castaraider) and Hammerjaw (Blisterz Booty), Jo'Momma fits into none. She appears to be hunchbacked at first sight, but she has the nailer's horns and a Booty-esque jaw. |
