Then why couldn't we see the stumps?

Xavier 05-03-2011 01:04 AM

It's hidden under his hair...

On the medical sheets during the depantsing you can see the stumps

One fan theory was that Stranger was actually a female steef, which would explain both the horns and her small stature.

Uh, no. Stranger is a guy, he has a package. And no bewbs.

Hmm, about the size, we could reason that his mother didn't find enough to feed on during pregnancy, resulting in Stranger being a runt. In a way, it would also explain the lack of horns, sort of.

Another question, Of what use would the meeches arms be? They're like Tyranosaurus arms, just sort of...there. I'm thinking they might assist with mating, but what do you guys think?

Maybe in your fanfiction. I see no evidence of packaging.

Gwan-Thwei 05-04-2011 10:19 AM

It's in the concept art. Besides, I doubt they'd show a female charector without a shirt in a rated t game.

Wil 05-04-2011 10:25 AM

What rating do you think the first game to feature a queen will have?

Put up or shut up.

I would, but I can't find it anymore. The site that had it became "members only" and shut down.

As for the queen thing, the queen herself will be popular, but the rating will depend on the charactors and the storyline.

Wil 05-04-2011 01:49 PM

Every concept image of Stranger ever released digitally is on TOGG.

Gwan-Thwei 05-04-2011 04:25 PM

Maybe it was fan art then. My previous point remains, they wouldn't put a topless female in a rated T game.

MeechMunchie 05-04-2011 11:22 PM

Was this website called 'Rule 34' perchance?..

You're assuming Oddworld characters would have anything on their chests worth covering.

ziggy 05-05-2011 04:20 AM

I think it's kind of weird to propose the idea that Stranger is female even without the package or whatever considering how deep his voice is.

Until we hear the voices of other Steefs, we won't know whether Stranger's voice is high or low pitched for the species.

Apperances aside, I agree with you. Plus, other AI's treat 'him' like a guy, saying things like "lookin for a girlfriend?" and "Don't get your boxers in a bunch".

And what about those meech 'arms'. Anything? C'mon guys...

enchilado 05-05-2011 05:29 PM

I think they're just there to look cool. Also:

Spelling mistakes, and i'm a perfectionist

Indeed.

Gwan-Thwei 05-05-2011 05:45 PM

@enchilado 'lookin' was written how it was said in game. She said "Lookin' for a girlfriend?" She did not pronounce the G sound.
The rest I'll give to you, I'm a horrible speller.

But what about in real life? Would meeches possibly use those arms for carrying eggs or something?

Counterpoint: up until the de-pantsing, they didn't even know what species he was.

I always thought of them as fingers but lacking arms behind them. They could use them for holding things, picking things up (though they'd have to lean over pretty far, or keep everything on tables), climbing, grappling with a mate, whatever.

Boas have residual legs called "spurs" that are used to hold onto their mates, so maybe their arms share the same purpose.

I was bored today and decided to play Exodus after so long. I have a few questions that I'd written down that I'd like answered. Sorry if they've been asked before. Here goes:

1. You know when you tell a mud to work they either pull a level or get on the ground and scrub away. How come when they're on the pully and you tell them work they don't pull themselves up?

2. How come blind muds know when to stop in front of the levers without Abe telling them to?

3. Besides Abe being the main character, is there another reason why he's not affected by the laughing gas?

4. And you know how laughing / angry muds don't listen to Abe when he tells them to wait and all. How come they listen when he tell them to work?

Anybody who can answer these it'll be greatly appreciated.

enchilado 05-08-2011 12:09 AM

1. For gameplay reasons. Storywise, maybe because they don't see things above their heads? Who knows? Why can't they leap across gaps or enter doors?

2. Again, for gameplay reasons. Probably they feel them.

3. And again, for gameplay reasons. Maybe the same inner sadness that makes him blue makes immune to laughing gas?

4. Laughing Mudokons don't, and angry Mudokons are working already when Abe comes along. They're probably glad to forget the interruption and go back to their work.

Mikaeel 05-08-2011 08:02 AM

^^ Thanks a bunch man.

Jango 05-09-2011 12:19 PM

I have a question:

I've reached RuptureFarms II in AO, and saved all the Mudokons so far. So, I've saved 50. And the status display says:
52 Employees.
-3 Casualties.
50 Escapees.

Is this just a glitch? Has anyone come across this before? Sorry if this has come up loads of times... Thanks. :)

STM 05-09-2011 12:28 PM

That I think is a glitch...unless you didn't save 3 mudokons in RF I, but even than that doesn't explain the whole 52 escapes thing.

Yeah, but if I missed three Mudokons in RFI, then surely it would say: 3 Casualties...not -3! :p

Wil 05-09-2011 04:05 PM

There is a known glitch that's something like this, and this could probably be the same thing. I've never been able to replicate it myself, but it's widely reported.

I was wondering if an Italian version of MO is available now.

Wil 05-26-2011 12:43 PM

Not yet, but apparently soon.

You’d better get used to it, digital distribution is growing rapidly and is the future of acquiring software and digital media. You don’t even need a credit card, a debit/bank card will do.

This is going to be a problem due to internet caps. They have them in Canada and their comming into the US too.

This is going to hurt online buissnesses. So OWI will have to release copies on disks sold at retailers.

I'm not quite sure what you're referring to, but if you mean ISPs simply limiting your bandwidth, it shouldn't be a problem. In Australia we get 500GB of usage plus unlimited local and national calls (to landlines) for $109 a month. Considering Munch is approximately 1GB and Stranger about 2GB, downloading should not be too problematic.

Nate 07-09-2011 05:59 AM

Plus, many ISP offer peak and off-peak downloads. Back before I signed up for my current ridiculous download limit, I would just set up my computer to download games after midnight.

To address Spooce-aholic directly: Yes, capped plans are increasingly common in North America. On the other hand, they've always existed in the rest of the world and we've always gotten by. The fact is that as time goes on, internet is only going to get cheaper and cheaper as the technology improves. The retail game industry is dead, even if it doesn't realise it yet.

kapteeni13 07-10-2011 06:55 AM

This questions is made me wondered all-time, but what would Slig really look? (without mechanic pant's or mask)

I'm wishy if there's some naturally original Slig's ^^ =)

Bullet Magnet 07-10-2011 09:52 AM

Pants-less is not a mystery. And there is a maskless Big Bro concept in the Art Book.

It was just mystery to me... =)

I found it in older thread/post... Thank you, bullet!

I still can't understand why Zulags 1 e 2's Mudokons aren't blind, tell me I am dumb but I can't!

Nate 07-11-2011 02:54 AM

Because it didn't fit in with how OWI structured the gameplay. They probably wanted to start with the easiest (or most familiar) puzzles and only lead to the more difficult ones later.

But I suspect that you want an in-universe explanation. I really don't think that any exists.

Exactly! Maybe Glukkons hadn't already used their blinding machine with those Mudokons! What's the english for its name? The italian name is Cuciocchi 2000 :)

STM 07-12-2011 09:13 AM

eye stitcher 2000?

abe is now! 07-12-2011 09:15 AM
