I am reading Dorian/Our Fetus Bradbury's The Illustrated Man. It's fun. I assume the fetus enjoys sci-fi. If not, I will publicly humiliate it once it is born on a yearly basis at comic-con until it loves to be a nerd like its daddy

Down Under, by Bill Bryson.
You wacky Australians, you. |
Philosophy of Right, by G.W.F. Hegel.
You wacky German, you. |
Just read the first to books of Hobb's Farseer Trilogy.
Man, the world likes to kick the protagonist when he's down. |
At the moment i'm reading discworld: going postal, but I'm also in the middle of reading the wheel of time series (at the end of book 7 so far) and the hellgate: london trilogy.

Just finished reading a very humourous report by E Loftus about the justification for believing in repressed memories of child abuse, it made me laugh every second sentence as it was very clear she thought it was a load of tosh. Maybe a bit irreverent of the subject matter, but I had to giggle every time she mentioned 'Ritualistic Satanic Cults'.
Also bought Das Kapital a few days after I promised myself I wouldn't buy any more non-course books. This is going to take some reading... |
A few days ago finished The Universe: A Biography by John Gribbin. Would definately recommend it to anyone interested in a basic knowledge of particle physics and how the universe came to be, from the big bang to trolls posting shit on forums.
Am currently reading - and almost finished - Lords and Ladies, by Terry Pratchett. It was always my favourite Discworld novel when I was a kid and now I'm reminded why. Absolutely brilliant. |
Did you get around to Nation yet, Nate?
|
Read it ages ago. Liked the boy's bits. Hated the girl's bits. She pretty much just seemed like a collage of Susan and Tiffany Aching and Esk and every other young, strong, female character he's written only worse because at least they seemed vaguely plausible. She just seemed way too knowledgable and capable for someone who had had a sheltered upper class upbringing.

I have decided that I would, once and for fucking all, read the Lord of the Rings.
Good so far, as I expected. |
They read like a history book, but they are the fucking Lord of the Rings.
|
I like the Three Kingdoms better, it's like, semi-real boring instead of imaginary boring.
|
N or M by Agatha Christie.
My friend pointed out the title spells Norm without spaces. |
I am reading an italian book about bullshit in the schools; there is a boy that seems to be a punk, he's the bully. It's interesting, but it's a bit infantile. My teacher told us to read it and we had to buy it... I think we didn't need it.
|
Lolita, picked it up today.
It's fucking amazing. |
LOUD MEGAZINE
|
Stephen Kings IT, far much better than the film.
|
The William Shatner Autobiography: Up Till Now
He is a funny, funny man. |
At Bertram's Hotel, Agatha Christie. I'm a big fan of both her and Terry Pratchett. I don't have any particular problem with Ermintrude myself... anyway I read most of Nation ages ago and stopped a couple chapters from the end. Need to finish it one day...
~I have about 35 - 40 Agatha Christie books, and 12 or so of Mr Pratchett's... Enchilado Also, try the Monster Blood Tattoo series by DM Cornish, http://www.monsterbloodtattoo.com/. |
American Gods.
|
I just finished Star Wars: Death Troopers.
Imagine Han Solo and Chewbacca fighting Imperial zombies on an abandoned Star Destroyer. Yeah, that's the whole plot. |
Episode VII, anybody?
|
If Episode seven was about Zombies, I'd watch it.
Of course, the fanboys would demand Thrawn. |
Shall I go ahead and admit that I read those books when I was like nine? I shouldn't.
|
What, the Thrawn books? It's not too embarassing as those are like, the only universally-loved Expanded Universe books ever.
|
God, how old are those books? God, how old am I? Fuck.
|
I dunno, 1991 it started?
|
That would have me at ten when I read the first one.
|
awww

Been a while since I posted here...
I just finished reading Red Dwarf: Infinity Welcomes Careful Drivers by Grant Naylor (novel based on the TV series). Very funny book. Starting on the sequel next :p |
