And why my portal comes out at the same place as the Genesis one, yeah. But it'd still work fine for getting a long way away in one eighth of the time.
Did we try and build another portal in the nether to see if we can link it up to a specific portal on the surface?
I've got another portal to provide me slightly faster access to my compound from the base.
It's been a looong day. |
New message, it's asking for a clock this time around.
Screw this guy, he can make his own clock.
Server has been updated to 1.7.2 |
Transit system map update:
http://www.oddworldforums.net/attach...1&d=1310078038 (Previous versions here and here for comparison.) |
Oh I love the new interchange in the track. Works like a charm, was hoping you'd make something like that!
I only didn't do it earlier before 1.6 'cause it would have used up a ton of powered rails. That's not an issue anymore though. Maybe I should've done it as soon as 1.6 came out ages ago but never got around to it. Until I was poked by Splat. :P
However it's a little complex to use - I have labelled the buttons clearly but you can't always see the signs. Plus sometimes the cart goes through it without you touching anything which is annoying, and I don't know why. |
The Yaucht Club is missing from the map.
Northern bases?
I think that means you.
And perhaps the lava pool cottages, and maybe Terror Valley.
civilization is slowly creeping towards me
I think I'm eventually just going to up and emigrate halfway across the world. |
BTW, why is the map oriented to the east? :s
So you can ask dumb questions about it!! >: )
Because maps in Minecraft have east at the top.

I may not even bother going that far unless people really want it and give me enough iron (I need mine for RF), I do at least want to get as far as the lava lakes though. If you do migrate half-way across the world, make sure to wait until 1.8. :P :

I suddenly realise that as well as naming a 'natural' wonder 'Terror Valley', I've also named the cave under the desert where my portal comes out, 'Terrifying Cave'.
What does that say about my opinions of Minecraft... |
What is this Terror Valley?
It's terrifying.
Is that a waterfall flowing out of a treehouse?
You could say that. Of course, if you did, you'd be correct.
I always climb that tree house via the waterfall because I can never find the ladder until I'm at the top. I'm fairly sure it's around there somewhere, but jumping in to the waterfall is more fun. |
Where is the water coming from?
From the treehouse...
Duh. You can collect and place water source blocks |
Might I ask how you made those train maps, was it a specific programme or are you just very good with photoshop?
MS Paint and being clever with fonts, lines and colours. That's it.
I could use vectors in Corel Draw which probably would be easier but I haven't been arsed to re-install Corel Draw since I last re-installed windows. |
Well It's very well done.
Thanks. :)

Would there be an interest in creating an economy on the server somehow? I'm reading about certain servers that have a sort of economy in place, which seems like an interesting idea.
Not really interested in having it implemented, but interested in reading up how such an economy would work if you have a link to a good description.
You mean like trading diamonds for wool and such?
We have an iConomy in our server, it's quite easy to implement with a plugin and it regulates the price of goods depending on how much people have. You also get money for killing mobs like $2 for slaying a spider and stuff.
I don't like economy stuff. I don't really think we need it, either.
it works well for SMP any way.
what can the economy be used for?
