abe is now! 11-05-2010 01:39 PM

Today I started playing Final Fantasy X and I like it!

ziggy 11-05-2010 01:46 PM

I still only have my xbox and ps1. My ps2 died a horrible death, and so I've been playing the halo 2 campaign now out of boredom. I've been spending my money on other stuff at the moment. But I should get some new games and consoles. I'm playing fucking halo 2 right now. I'm such a loser.

Rare fanboy or no, you can't seriously tell me that you think Kinect Sports is a good use of their talents.

Of course not. I wish they were doing something else, like the new Donkey Kong Country, but hey, it's better than some half-assed game developers making it.

OANST 11-05-2010 02:28 PM

No, it isn't.

Daxter King 11-05-2010 03:47 PM

If anything its worse, talent being wasted and such. Rare keeps saying they are working on core games, but keeps not showing them. Rare is a big ass studio, last time I checked MS didn't lay off part of the studio when they went over there. I was surprised to learn that Rare only made Kinect Sports. Adventures was made by another studio MS owns, and Kinectimals was out sourced. Of course Rare likely provided the tech for the latter two, that might be it. They really cant just being working on making Avatar clothing and Kinect Sports can they? It really saddens me as well, that I think they brought some of this on to themselves, since they went to MS with Avatars, not the other way around if I recall correctly. Ah well, rant over.

Strike Witch 11-05-2010 04:25 PM

SO CUTE

Phylum 11-05-2010 04:36 PM

PixelJunk shooter had a terrible ending.

You find out the planet is alive so you go down and fight a fucking drill? Oh well, I'm excited about the sequel.

Now I'm going to run through it again and rescue all of the miners and the one scientist I missed. I'll also attempt to get all of the diamonds.

At the moment I am xboxless. Would you say it would be worthwhile to invest in a new 360 and Kinect in one splurgetastic paycheque sometime soon?

I just remembered Im selling my old 360. It still works, if you want one. Comes with 120GB hard drive and wireless adapter. I got it refurbished in April, and haven't had any problems since, but like all old Xboxes its probably a ticking time bomb. Its up to you.

The only reason I'd consider buying Kinect is because Rare makes most of the games, and I consider myself something of a Rare fanboy. I probably won't buy Kinect, though. Wii is good enough for motion shit to me.

Oh, well if they make a Kameo 2 I'd buy that.

Mr. Bungle 11-07-2010 06:48 PM

For sure, Kameo was the shit.

Dynamithix 11-07-2010 07:26 PM

I remember playing the Kameo demo in some store when it was first released and I was fucking amazed.

Is it actually that good? I might pick it up sometime, as it is only like 5€ used.

Mr. Bungle 11-07-2010 07:28 PM

Yeah. Definetly worth playing. Pretty original, with great graphics to boot.

Phylum 11-07-2010 08:30 PM

I picked up my old, unfinished expert save of Kingdom Hearts today. I finished all of Atlantica at level 47 which was really easy (it took less than 3 mins to kill big Ursula). I then fought Malificent Dragon and Riku-Ansem which are both really stressful fights. I beat them both on my first attempt 7 levels lower than I would have liked after not playing the game for several months.

I took Riku-Ansem out quite quickly, though. I was impressed by how swift I was considering it's probably the hardest mandatory fight in the game. Although Malificent Dragon was stronger and breathed fire all over the arena R-A was so fast and gave you no time to heal between his barrage of attacks. I wish there was a Leaf Bracer ability in this game just for that fight (Actualy, that would take half the fun out, but it's easy to say when you're getting spam-attacked by him).

scrabface 11-09-2010 02:32 PM

never played Kingdom Hearts. the disney and squaresoft chars are sitting in two different sides of my brain.

I play Stalker atm. it's such a great game, unique atmosphere and as I read the book and watched the movie (by tarkovski) this is a perfect condition to play this game.

Mr. Bungle 11-09-2010 04:43 PM

I'm playing Super Meat Boy, holy fuck is this game amazing. So much fun, yet so difficult. Not frustrating, though, because the save system/re-spawn times are amazing.

I have true 100 percent on Super Meat Boy. Let's see how you do.

Nate 11-10-2010 04:13 PM

Sorry, I have a life.

Dynamithix 11-10-2010 09:13 PM

And you're sorry for that? Geez.

MeechMunchie 11-11-2010 03:13 AM

I love completism.

OANST, if you think you have 100% you might want to look away now...

Mr. Bungle 11-11-2010 10:21 AM

Yeah, I doubt I'm gonna go for 100%. I'm the furthest thing from a completist, and some of those bandages look like they'd be a pain in the ass.

Daxter King 11-11-2010 04:58 PM

Rented Call of Duty Black Ops. Multiplayer is the same as always, so fun for a while for me. Wager matches are the best addition to it, adding a whole lot more variety to the whole thing. Single player, is an archaic mess of bad checkpoints, scripted events, and infinitely respawning enemies. I find myself too often, activating scripted events too early, unfairly killing me. There is nothing you can do about it, and the game isn't always clear on whether you should rush forward, or stay back and kill the enemies. Its frustrating as fuck, and is just terrible game design compared to other shooters.

Dynamithix 11-11-2010 08:26 PM

I thought the singleplayer had an interesting story and I like how it's very unclear what's going on until the last missions, but I felt like it was pretty damn buggy at some points. And it was annoying to make your way through all the enemies and come down to a small corridor where you'd expect a checkpoint, but oh no, a soviet commando and a shotgun to the face! Ka-pow! And then the next time when you get to the same place, he might not even be there...

But anyways, I'm really liking Black Ops, and once you beat the singleplayer campaign you unlock a fun-as-hell zombie map called "Five" .

MeechMunchie 11-12-2010 07:33 AM

Garry's Mod. So far my favorite things are:

Spawning large numbers of barrels, roping them together and blowing them up
A two-metre stretch of wire railing with rocket thrusters
A shipping container on circular-saw wheels, which creates a cloud of 'LOL's as it rumbles along.

It's like the world's most violent / ridiculous set of Lego.

OANST, if you think you have 100% you might want to look away now...

I don't think it would be a problem. If you can unlock The Kid, you can do anything in this game.

Mr. Bungle 11-13-2010 08:33 AM

Regarding Super Meat Boy:

Are there bandages in every single stage? I've tried for a while to get 100% on the first world, and I could swear I've found them all, as well as done all the "dark world" levels.

OANST 11-13-2010 08:38 AM

There are twenty bandages in every world. 7 in light world stages, 7 in dark world stages, and two in every warp zone that doesn't unlock a character. There are three warp zones in the light world of every world (one of which unlocks a character, and doesn't have bandages in it), and there is one in the dark world. This is true for every world except 6, which has no bandages or warp zones, but does still have a negative level.

There are some bandages that you are just plain not going to be able to get until you unlock some of the other characters.

This. Fucking this.

I can't express how much I love this game, that the only thing that can limit you is your imagination.
Things I have built in this game:

Remote controlled car
Catapult
Aeroplane
A zoo
A fully automated house (doors, defense systems, etc.)
And a few more things not worthy of note.

Just played Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom demo, surprisingly fun. The dynamics between commanding the Majin and moving yourself are good. Might have to watch out for this one.

I downloaded the demo the other day, and I absolutely hated it. The Majin talks like he has down syndrome, and the gameplay bored me to tears.

tantopat 11-15-2010 12:24 PM

Other than Abe's Oddysee, I'm currently playing Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. I'm a big fan of the book it's inspired by (Journey to the West, for anyone who doesn't know), and while it's obviously very different from the source material, it still stays true to the feel of it and is generally a really good game. Also, the facial animation is better than any I've seen in a game before, along with the voice acting. :)

OANST 11-15-2010 12:34 PM

I enjoyed Enslaved. I was pissed that they put collectibles along a path that you can't go back through to get what you missed, but other than that I was very impressed.

Mr. Bungle 11-17-2010 06:21 PM

I'm playing through Psychonauts, recently downloaded it off of the Xbox live market. It's brilliant so far, and a LOT better on 360 than PS2. PS2 one had terrible frame rate. This one is a lot smoother. I never actually finished the game either, but plan to.

MagogCartel 11-17-2010 07:38 PM

I have renewed my love for: 1) Oddworld of course 2) Steel Harbinger PS1 3) Klonoa PS1
I feel bad for neglecting Oddworld for so long but... after not being able to escape from the destruction of Rupture Farms in AO, I quit playing for a while.. In AE, I mustered up the courage to play one of the door levels of the Wilds (with the scrabs and fleeches; damn slurgs). I played one level and beat it for five mins then decided that was enough exposure for one night @ 11 pm, lol.

Aw, I loved Psychonauts! I only got to the level with the brain tank and I couldn't beat it.... so I kinda gave up.:fuzsad: But, that one is awesome. too bad I no longer have an Xbox....

Hazel-Rah 11-18-2010 07:10 AM

I've been meaning to play through the old Oddworld games again, I started AO and got to Scrabania, I really forgot how hard that game is O.o God I miss the PS1 -_-

I started playing Gears of War 2 and I must admit while I love all the new Locust animations I can't help but feel they make the game a lot easier. What I mean by that is the way the enemies flinch and fall back when you shoot them.

Also Mass Effect 2 even though I haven't really started playing the first one, OMG jizztastic, jizz everywhere it's that good. I will never doubt the 360's GPU again.

Dynamithix 11-18-2010 07:28 AM

Hazel-Rah, you really should play Mass Effect 1. It's great.

I've played 2 and I know it's really really REALLY good, but trust me, Mass Effect 1 is really entertaining too! But yes, ME2 is better.

Yes, they are very hard. And I always end up kinda giving up around Scrabania and continue months later. Gears of War is pretty fun, though I've only played the first one.

Well as long as it's better than kotor -_- I don't like that game, I just DON'T!

Hey we should play Gears 2 this weekend, it'll be a pro male bonding experience.

Ridg3 11-18-2010 10:02 AM

Knights of the Old Republic is a fucking brilliant game, you cretin.

But anyways... I've been playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Call of Pripyat. Fantastic game, completely dwarfs Shadow of Chernobyl...
