Sorry to be a n00b, but what exactly is Sony Submission? Had a Google but I couldn't seem to find anything of any worth on the subject.

JennyGenesis 05-22-2014 07:34 AM

It means submitting the game to Sony who will run tests on the game, and if it qualifies, Sony will allow JAW to publish the game for their systems.

Back in the days of the NES, developers had to go through the same process to have their game gain the Nintendo seal of quality.

It's nothing to do with how good a game is, but basically making sure that the game runs smoothly on the system without any significant bugs or crashes.

Nepsotic 05-22-2014 07:45 AM

Am I the only one who actually doesn't want to see any more screenshots? Like, they're looking amazing but that's the problem. They're like spoilers Dx

Oh. My.
OH!
Oh Odd!
Omg so original i c wat u did ther lololololol

V_O_T 05-22-2014 08:02 AM

Thank you Alex for making my week!

And yeah @Nep, I'm on the same boat. But I can't look away and say no. They're just so damn juicy looking.

And Alex, this is an extreme request I'm making, but is there any chance next week you could pull out a gif loop of a scrab "dancing" on its prey hopping up and down? You know, after it kills something? I need to make a party hard gif for when NnT is released lol :)

Keep up the wicked work! We hath faith in thee! :)

Two handstones next to each other?

Aren't there by any chance two handstones next to each other in the original, on the separate screens?

V_O_T 05-22-2014 09:58 AM

Not sure if anyones mentioned this, but will Abe's tattoos show as you progress? as in, will he have 1 tattoo showing while going through Scrabania/ Paramonia and both there after? That would be wicked :D

Nepsotic 05-22-2014 09:59 AM

Yeah, and the fact that they are on two separate screens distracts from the fact that they look exactly the same.

Scrabaniac 05-22-2014 11:58 AM

I love the fact that we are going to see fireflies used more. Although i wouldn't necessarily need them, I only saw them a couple of times in the original, and there were tons of unused ones that i have seen in some footage somewhere

Holy Sock 05-22-2014 01:13 PM

Looking sweet. But I also share Nep's spoilery concerns!

This is true, but personally I think it looks stupid having the two right next to each other, would have been better off having one that displayed the information of both of them.

I'm about to say something no doubt controversial- In the original, I never really cared for the Monsaic Lines. Not sure why.

However, from what I've seen of New n' Tasty so far, I can say that the Monsaic Lines are looking like they'll be my new favourite level. The detail, in particular the soft mossy look to the surfaces, looks amazing. You get a much better sense of scale with the shift in perspective.

I completely agree. I think it was the lack of challenge that made Monsaic Lines so unappealing to me in the original. It was basically like a rather long corridor from Rupture Farms to the rest of the game. I also agree that the overhaul it has been given makes it much more appealing.

JennyGenesis 05-23-2014 01:23 PM

Monsaic Lines sucked. It was too easy. But then again how do you make a sacred mudokon temple difficult?

Jordan 05-23-2014 01:42 PM

So you want the place where Mudokons go to meditate and find themselves to be difficult? Do you guys not realise the setting is designed to be easy?

Holy Sock 05-23-2014 02:30 PM

Well Monsaic Lines seems to be more of a developed tutorial for gamers who have blazed through the first half of the game without really rescuing anyone or possessing any Sligs.

Well like I said. I dont see how you can make it difficult given the setting of the level.

Scrabaniac 05-23-2014 03:52 PM

I actually really enjoyed the Monsaic lines, it gives the player a break from the game as you literally jump straight into action. It's not just that though, the scenery and the story telling of the Monsaic Lines really brings the game together for me.

MeechMunchie 05-23-2014 06:32 PM

Monsaic Lines is one of my favourite areas.

El Dango AGAIN 05-24-2014 12:17 AM

Well, Monsaic Lines is a sort of mini hub, I'd hardly blame it for lacking challenge.

Nepsotic 05-24-2014 02:29 AM

It did have some challenge for new players though. After the first run, the mimicing puzzles just got irritating.

Scrabaniac 05-24-2014 05:21 PM

That's why the only cheat I ever really used was the instant puzzle solving one. It also helped skip the bell chimes in a speed run too

I agree with this. I liked the fact it was a quite place where you could kind of feel safe. Made the whole game feel more like a travel. I mean, even on an epic quest your not supposed to be in danger 100% of the time.

That's the same reason for Naughty Dog adding the giraffe sequence in The Last of Us, directly after the difficult Winter levels. Adds a nice contrast and reprieve for the characters. I never thought of the Monsaic Lines in this way, but you're right. It's purpose from a narrative perspective is very similar, and it works :)

pakirriVendetta 05-28-2014 07:10 AM

Any news for PC version and his release date? Same release date than PS3-PS4-Vita versions? It will also be announced before E3?

Varrok 05-28-2014 07:15 AM

No. To all three.

Ledeux 05-29-2014 09:09 AM
