Bullet Magnet 01-05-2013 09:51 PM

How is it that we're still confused about this stuff?

Phylum 01-05-2013 09:53 PM

Wil doesn't explain things clearly enough.

Scrabaniac 01-06-2013 01:29 AM

I thought that the glukkon queen owned the magog cartel. If she does, then the vykkers work for the glukkons. And i just realised that the 2 main villains in the oddysee's are both spelled with 2 K's.. Coincidence or are they just oddly spelled anyway?

Nope. The Glukkons are just one family within the Magog Cartel. Lorne has said a few times that one of the over-arching themes of the Quintology is that there's always another level of power behind the powerful.

Probably just due to the fact that both names were made up by the same person's imagination.

Wil 01-06-2013 03:06 AM

Clakkers and ?

Disgruntled Intern 01-06-2013 03:42 AM

it's too bad there aren't any interns in AO. I'd like to voice an intern.

STM 01-06-2013 04:22 AM

It's quite interesting, I guess, I thought that the Vyker's Pharmaceuticals was a syndicate entirely separate to the Magog Cartel. But then I suppose the very nature of a cartel suggests that the Vyker's Conglomerate could exist within it.

On another note...this business aspect of the game helped me pass my GCSE Business exams and my AS economics. Fun!

Crashpunk 01-06-2013 04:48 AM

Out of interested. Did FeeCo go to more places we didn't see in Abe's Exoddus or was it just the parts we saw?

I ask because I always thought it would be cool to use FeeCo again as a hub section but instead go to different places around Oddworld.

Jordan 01-06-2013 05:13 AM

I assume it's a lot bigger than what we've actually seen. I'd say that about most things on Oddworld though considering what's happening in all the backgrounds.

Wil 01-06-2013 05:39 AM

This. I'd also assume there are other FeeCo Depot hubs.

Scrabaniac 01-06-2013 06:16 AM

Do you reckon that future games/remakes will explore deeper? I'dove to see more of necrum, the temples and the industries

Bullet Magnet 01-06-2013 09:19 AM

It's turtles all the way down.

MeechMunchie 01-06-2013 10:52 AM

Well, some of them are terrapins.

Xavier 01-07-2013 02:05 AM

If the Magog Cartel englobes the Vykkers and the Glukkons, and the association of Vykkers is know as the "Vykkers Conglomerate", what is the name of the Glukkon association?

Nate 01-07-2013 02:16 AM

Perhaps that's what the Ugaia (sp?) Estate is?

Bear in mind that the Industrial Glukkons that we have seen so far have all been descendants of Lady Margaret, but not all the Glukkons in Mudos are her descendants. Presumably the Industrialised ones have their own family businesses.

Xavier 01-07-2013 02:36 AM

Hmmm I would have thought that the Ugaia Estate is indeed the name given to one of the families and that there are multiple Glukkon families.

So now the question is, are those families somehow part of a same group, and if yes, what's the name of the group?

Nate 01-07-2013 03:21 AM

My guess is that the different Glukkon families are seperate, and only some (or perhaps only even one) are/is part of the Magog Cartel.

STM 01-07-2013 06:10 AM

Ooh, is there somewhere we can read about the Ugaia Estate?

Wil 01-07-2013 06:36 AM

https://www.google.com/search?q=%22uggae+estate%22

Bullet Magnet 01-07-2013 07:41 AM

Nate, write these questions down. You'll need them for round three.

OANST 01-07-2013 07:53 AM

I think I should do the next Lorne interview. Let's give Nate a break.

Vyrien 01-07-2013 07:58 AM

I think that would be a terrible, terrible, wonderful idea.

STM 01-07-2013 08:49 AM

Those are terrible answers, Wil. ;D

Thanks thoughhh.

Bullet Magnet 01-07-2013 09:11 AM

Does Wil ghost-write for Alf these days?

Xavier 01-07-2013 10:56 AM

You mean you didn't already figure that out?

Varrok 01-07-2013 11:35 AM

What happened to Alf, then?

OANST 01-07-2013 11:36 AM

Lorne fired him.

Varrok 01-07-2013 11:40 AM

Now I imagine homeless Alf walking through crowded streets, creeping people out by telling his odd stories and puns in hope of getting any money, after that getting drunk and going on a rehab.

Wil 01-07-2013 12:01 PM

Don't worry, guys. I don't write Alf.

Varrok 01-07-2013 12:06 PM

He wouldn't want to receive letters from OWI/JAW anyway
