This is a Meetle:
http://www.oddworldlibrary.net/togg/...=RAMO0031.jpg2
And in battle armour:
http://www.oddworldlibrary.net/togg/...=RAMO0027.jpg1
It is a creature cut from MO or intended for Hand of Odd, a huge, flying beetle-like creature. You may have seen their larvae, the mudokons feed them on plants and they grow into meetle, but industrialists feed the babies meat and they become mugs, can't find a picture of them, however. Mugs are vicious, much more so than meetles. The Art book has an older iteration of meetles, much meaner and completely different.

Ninjaxe 06-19-2006 09:39 AM

kewl..what page is it in the Art Book?

I am sure the Avartar showed its fleshy skin without its shell. Really horrible looking

Slaveless 06-19-2006 05:43 PM

Meetles were also to be in SligStorm, but that was a game that never made it. They were used to fly the Mudokon blimps. And not all Meetles were born to fly. And was the larvae in MO, or were they not?

Cullen Heath 06-19-2006 05:52 PM

Was the whole "Mad Slog Disease" thing just an excuse for all the Slogs' rampages?

used:) 06-19-2006 05:57 PM

What 'rampages' are you refering to?

If you mean by the Slogs chasing after you, then that's just how the are, there's no disease involved. If there is, the Lorne needs punched for making ANOTHER race that's not naturally viscious.

I'd love to know where you found that.

As for the Mad Slog Disease, it was the official way for the industrialists to explain to the public why all the slogs near the meep farm were found dead after Abe and Munch helped by some Tomahawkers visited the place

Yes I saw that too but my question is what is the purpose of the meep farm for the mudokons, it wouldnt be meat, would it?

E'l Scrabino 06-20-2006 01:18 AM

That's a good question :)! pity i can't answer it...

I guess wool for some clothes

Bullet Magnet 06-20-2006 11:41 AM

Er, thanks, Xav. I assume you edited me? I wasn't sure if those pictures didn't work just for me, or everyone else too.

And also those meeps were going to be chopped up by that pud downstairs, in the "Give meeps a chance" campaign, to introduce meep flesh to the khanzumer diet.

That's easy, I went onto an Oddworld site, I think it was on http://oddworld.au.com . The pictures of the Meetles on the bottom showed some of them flying in SligStorm. I thought a lot of people knew that.

Xavier 06-20-2006 09:52 PM

except that's not SligStorm but an early version of MO
SligStorm was supposed to be based on the ALIVE 1 engine (AO and AE)

I meant what porpose do they serve for the mudokons.

Cullen Heath 06-21-2006 12:19 AM

Xavier explains it right here:

Ninjaxe 06-21-2006 01:51 AM

I thinking more of patterns of woollen jumper or scarfs. The texture from meeps must be really thin to create loin cloths. Almost silk like. I don't think that is possible?

Problem is I can only guess that:
probably have a special machine to make the wool really fine and weave them.

Bullet Magnet 06-21-2006 01:53 AM

Perhaps they produce milk as well...

It's just that looking after a meep flock does sound like something in a mudokon's character.

Wil 06-22-2006 06:30 AM

:

Q: I 'd like to know what Mudokon clothes are made of. I 've seen meeps so you obviously have wool. But you don't seem to be wearing any wool clothing so what other fabrics are your clothes made of? Kleeng

Alf: I don't know if meeps give “wool”, though they may contribute to the textile production process ... at the fertilizer level. Various plants are used to create our light, comfortable and stylish loincloths. They are handcrafted by Mudokons who don't have to spend all of their time answering questions about interplanetary fashion!

So it seems fabric is not the answer. Maybe milk or meat, or just kept to graze when it's needed.

Cullen Heath 06-22-2006 12:52 PM

Yes, they are indeed very stylish! I just see those as being very heavy, buy if it comes from lips of someone who wears one, I'll believe that they are light:p .

But now, the question is: What plant? Cirtainly not Spooce or Hum Shrubs? And I think those are the only ones that we can put a name on.

Ninjaxe 06-23-2006 05:23 PM

I want to ask...in MO how do I get the 'bad news' movie?

I still cant get it....with only saving 12 muds/fuzzles

Bullet Magnet 06-25-2006 04:34 AM

Try killing the rest in ever more inventive ways. That should get you black quarma.

Slaveless 06-25-2006 12:23 PM

I agree that there are no other plants on Oddworld that OWI made a name for, but what about the ones in the backround of our games? Cactus, moss, and all the trees from Paramonia and the Wildness Region. Those could have made Mudokon clothing.

Edit: I have my own question. Do Gloktigis have their own sort of intellgence? Can they speak like Glukkons and think like Vykkers?

Wil 06-26-2006 03:56 AM

Oddworld plants: Opple trees, elder trees, popberries…

Gloktigi are a complete mystery. We've seen them as pets, but we don't know anything about their intelligence or origins. Sekto's two personal Gloktigi at the end of Stranger's Wrath almost seem to listen to and understand him, but they'd attack Stranger whether they were told to or not. They're also robotic, which doesn't make them good examples.

Bullet Magnet 06-26-2006 04:46 AM

Lifetrees, sligbane, grimroses, slognip, cud-cosies, laizies, naffodils
...my fanfic involves a florist. Don't ask.

Those Gloktigi were cyborgs, like the outlaw semi-autos, flamers, or Elboze Freely.

Nate 06-26-2006 04:59 AM

Those outlaws are actually creatures in armor. That's why Elboze had the weak spot on his back - he had lost the armor plate that went there.

Bullet Magnet 06-26-2006 05:40 AM

Oh no, I beg to differ! Whether they lost the limbs in fights or had them removed, those are actual robot limbs. Packrat Palooka does them, apparently.

Elboze Freely is a complete cyborg, all his limbs are replaced, his jaw, and Odd knows what else. He still has some meaty parts left, but doesn't appear to have any skin. I expect he had a disagreement with a flamer back in his minion days.

Nate 06-28-2006 06:25 AM

Uh... is this some sort of fan-fic theory or are you actually basing it on something?

used:) 06-28-2006 03:42 PM

These days, it seems like the line between canon and fiction is becoming quite thin with a large portion of the Oddworld fan base.

Mudoko_Jedi 06-29-2006 03:07 AM

elboze freely has got armour on he is not made of robotic stuff thats why he sais "who forgot my back armour!"

Xavier 06-30-2006 12:17 PM

elboze freely is a big mistake...
anyway I see him as an outlaw with robodic features to enhance his competances...

Slaveless 06-30-2006 01:10 PM

I alos have another question. How long has Sekto's reign had been going on for? Many years, I'm supposing. I was thinking 20-30 years, but the Clakkerz seem almost too civilized.
