Did we ever figure out all of the arrows on the first image? My thought with them would have been to press the arrows keys on the soulstorm page to open an image or something. One of you guys would have probably spotted something for that in the page code though.

Still, maybe something to keep as a thought for later on in the ARG. Can't wait to see the cleaned up image.

Also, side note, I can't believe how much this forum is moving everytime I check it. I was never a big part of the earlier ARG stuff, hope I can lend some help for the rest of it!

I sort of straight-up asked OWI on Twitter if the arrows were relevant, but I didn't receive a response. It'd be strange for them to put them there with no meaning, but it doesn't look like they were required to solve this phase, nor were the math problems hidden in the source code of the /Soulstorm site.

The arrows can't really be substitutes for letters because there's only 8 variations of them. They can't really be numbers either for the same reason. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Is there any way to see if there have been any updates to the various versions of NnT recently? Perhaps they added something to the game itself and this is a secret code to find it.

Steam keeps patch notes in the News section for each game.

I looked in there, but can't see any software updates ever. Perhaps OWI just don't bother posting in the news?

Also, given it looks like controller directions, perhaps it's only on consoles?

SteamDB keeps great record of things like that. Looks like NnT was last updated ~7 months ago, and it's various DLCs ~1 year ago.

Edit: Actually according to https://steamdb.info/sub/57689/history/ , NnT may have gotten a minor update as little as 4 months ago. Something happened 29 days ago but it appears it was maybe just a version/package number change.

in this picture of "pieces of paper" i've found a Glukkon! Or Something very very similar to a glukkon... so i've bordered it!

Most of us already noticed and I thought it was Dripik. It could be everything, a mudokon, a glukkon or just a lamp. I guess we need to wait OWI to clean the image to be sure of what is it.

I think OWI have changed their twitter pic - it looks like Alf chillin' (unless it's been like that for a while and I'm seeing things lol) :D

For me it looks the same. Alf was already recognizable when they put that pic for the first time, it was quite well clear already.

When we reveal the 5 pics will we also reveal Ed and if we reveal Ed will Alf's clear profile pic also be fully revealed? Then once we reveal the reveal of the reveal that reveals the reveal, will we finally get the reveal we've been waiting for?

At the end of this ARG the reveal will be revealed during the reveal, the storm will reveal it!

Hey everybody, first time posting, I just had a thought.

In the pieced together photograph, everyone has referred to the thing the mudokon is holding as a bullet or a bomb.

Are we absolutely sure that's what it is?

To me, it looks like a satchel of mining tools or something similar.

I might be wrong, but the shape isn't right for a bullet shell, and the "point" might actually be a pick or a hammer an angle.

Also, the numbers and letters on the mudokons chest match the ones on whatever he is holding.

Has this been suggested before? Sorry if it has, I'm new and this is my first ARG!

It's very likely that each different direction represents a different letter. They have patterns that generally seem to match English-language digraph frequencies. The blue arrow is either T or E: T is the most common letter at the start of a word, E the is most common letter in general. The blue arrow appears 6 times – 4 of which are the start of a word. E is a very common letter to start a word with.

If the blue arrow is T, the green arrow must be a vowel since it's followed by 2 Ts in the 4th word. The red and yellow arrows might be H and E, and the cyan arrow might be A.

I've been messing with this for a while, didn't manage to get a reasonable assignment, and the uncertainty of some arrows doesn't really help =/

I'm playing through exodus at the moment and I feel like this could be in the slig barracks, block 0, there is a a stage with 4 depressed mudokons behind electric gates. One has a deep voice, probably nothing but thought it fit the theme.

Yes this has been suggested by a few, myself included and yes we noticed the Numbers on the mud's chest match the bundle he's holding.

Ah that's good, glad it wasn't missed! Personally I think this and the audio might be taken in the necrum mines, but who knows!

It definitely does sound to me like the recording device was riding a cart through a huge space, occasionally going past areas with a bunch of suffering Muds. The pained screaming and zapping sounds make me think it's Soulstorm Brewery, and we're passing by the tear extractor areas

That actually sounds more likely, considering the zapping noises.

I'm still trying to figure out the sirens. They sound pitched down ever so slightly, or extended longer than the usual time.

It's the same alarm as when you trigger motion sensors, so maybe it's some other mudokon trying to escape?

Doppler effect? This would fit the theory the 'recorder' is travelling at speed.

You know what excites me most about this ARG? Thinking about how it kinda stopped in it's tracks around summer... that means they've had a lot of time to think up some great puzzles for this phase, can't wait ;)

Oh man, I know! All the puzzles and communique from Ed so far have been really intriguing and I can't wait to see what they've got up their sleeves for us next! :happy:

I hope the cleaned up image is revealed this week

In the hopes of finding something new, I re-cut and stitched em together, but didn't find much else. I do think there is a giant Glukkon statue in the top-right corner, and I also think there is another word or something written on the top-right piece, but it's hard to make out, even when you tinker with the levels and contrast etc. The writing is right-side up in its original fragment image, but the piece is rotated in the final image. To me, the writing looks like it starts with W and ends with ?.


ALSO - I feel like we're missing something important with the file names, as Syrum pointed out, the letters in each file name can together construct the word "Alphanumerically", which usually refers to how things are sorted: 0 goes first, then up through 9, then through the alphabet A-Z.

Last night I had the thought that the numbers in each file name might have been Unicode, as Unicode characters are usually referenced by 4 digit numbers and - more importantly - Unicode is alphanumeric. Didn't really get anywhere when I looked into the corresponding characters, but just a thought outside the box :fuzsmile:

As a decmial, the binary 010101 converts to 21, doesn't it? 15 Hexa and 25 Octal. Not sure if those could be relevant though.
