I'm sure he's given the floors of the main slaughterhouse a once-over. I'd be surprised if he hasn't witnessed some level of animal cruelty. Even so, for Abe to hoard a Meech would be like me hoarding a cow. Only the cow is a deadly, carnivorous maw of teeth that will kill me as soon as look at me and my superiors will grind me into slurry if they find out I have it. There doesn't seem to be an up-side. |

That's kind of what I think. He's been working in that environment since birth. Cruelty and hardship are part of his day-to-day life. After so many years of seeing his friends being beaten and animals being slaughtered, it stands to reason he wouldn't bat an eye.

Oh, sorry, I've edited my previous post so the sence may have been disrupted.

These are all fair points! But even if Abe was accustomed to cruelty and consumerism, there would be nothing to suggest he didn't have enough sense to realise that the extinction of a race was a bad thing! He might have overheard glukkons talking about the 'last meech' in the same way he overhears the mudokon pops board meeting.
Whether his motives at the time would be in line with Abe's personalty as we know him now is unclear. Perhaps Abe's eyes were just naturally a little more open to morality than the others? It is clear from the games so far that most Industrialised Mudokons are complacent and passive. Considering his spiritual significance and destiny, I think it's more than plausible that Abe always had some form of altruism, despite his upbringing, able to understand concepts greater than what he was taught. If Abe did hoard a meech somehow, if it was for the greater good of saving a species I think we can forgive the 'cruelty' of his actions! Admiral Zaarin, bear in mind that Abe also 'thought he had a good job' when he was witnessing his fellow muds being beaten all the time, and no doubt being beaten himself! Perhaps he was speaking in terms of floor waxing being better than scrubbing meat grinders. It's definitely safer :p |

EDIT: Also this and this. EDIT EDIT: And this one too. I should get paid for this. |

If Nate is getting paid I want to get paid
You are getting paid.
Nate is paid in love.
In addition to his actual job. |
:
Also I can't see how and where Abe could technically hide meeches. Meeches are wild predatory creatures after all. Besides he must have hidden a considerable number of them to be able to restore the population (several specimens hidden in RF without professional handling and overwatch == extinct). |
People love Nate? Since when?
I'm so young and innocent I forgot that he was supposed to be the unpopular one.
I love everybody! |
I thought everybody loved Nate.
Seriously, when am I getting paid?
PM me your credit card details and I’ll give you five bucks.
Just give me 10 dollars for the transaction costs and I'll send you 20.000 dollars.
Pay me 5 dollars for resources and I'll give you 5 dollars.

I just saw this on a youtube comment for the FeeCo depot song:
:
The voice for that would be a Slig I assume?
I actually really like that idea. It could be a slig, or perhaps Aslik himself before he's blown up.
I dunno if it would work for Aslik because he's the Vice President of a huge company but I can imagine having a slig, hell, even a shrink announcing.
Yo Glitch? Huh, huh, how about it? Huh? |
:
Ah yeh, I sometimes forget what shrinks are for....it's in the name...but never mind.
I have some Ideas i was thinking off whilst playing Abe's Exoddus again.
When Abe is in the shadows and waiting for a Slig to walk past, He could step back into the wall, flat him self out and let the Slig walk past whist looking at the Slig's movement. A bit like Metal Gear Solid http://www.ggsgamer.com/wp-content/u...ar-solid-1.jpg Another idea was whispering. whilst there is a sleeping Slog or Slig, you could whisper to a fellow Mudokon to follow you then sneek off. The Whispering could be automatic when a Sleeping enemy is near. |
:
I've always assumed Sligs have a very good sense of hearing; since they instantly wake up only by the sound of your step, they'll probably also wake up from a whispering voice.

The announcer could kick in when Abe boards the train and the doors are closing. But not during gameplay, I think that would ruin the experience in that place. |
I think the place generally needs more ambient background noise, be it announcer or something else. It's a transport hub for fuck's sake.
But then it might take a way from the simple music in the background. I love the FeeCo theme.
By the way how about adding train activity to some "action free" screens (like elevator screens in Bonewerkz terminal)? For example there's a screen with several locomotives parked in a "roundhouse depot" in the background. Showing one of these locs starting up (deisel sound, clouds of smoke etc.) could increase the immersion in depot atmosphere. Also it would be nice to add some ambient sounds like coupler clangs, distant deisel roar, shunting whistles. It's a railroad station afterall.
I second the Admiral's suggestions.
Yea, I agree with that as well.
I read somewhere that when you remake a game from PS1 to PS3, you gotta rewrite a few of the designs cause their different consoles. |
I third that, that's a really amazing idea!
