I'm 80% of the way through Crash 2 now, then I'll move onto Metroid Prime. It's the easiest of the three Naughty Dog platforming installments, but it's still a good game. I've 100%'ed 2 about five times already. (I've done completed 1 100% about 10 times, a couple of those in a single sitting.) Metroid Prime, on the other hand, is a game that I've only played short segments of before. I've watched my brother complete the majority of it, but the fact that it was similar to an FPS put me off completing it myself, considering I'm not very skilled at them. Considering how much I enjoyed the previous games in the series, it makes sense to give it a chance. |

I also remember liking Tombi but I cannot remember anything from it, if memory serves me right though the first Tombi was 2D and Tombi was 3D right? The Driver San Francisco Multiplayer demo was released yesterday, sadly the game decided to go Test Drive Unlimuted 2 on our asses and didn't work for about a good 3 hours after the demo was released. It is amazing though, not to sound like a dickhead but I found it far too easy first, I was getting ridiculous point gaps against other players but now people are improving and I've had plenty of very close matches, if the single player demo didnt do much for you I suggest to at least try the multiplayer demo, you get 2 modes, tag and trailblazer. Only problem is that they have stuck a very anoying and horrid display filter on the multiplayer, the single player game runs at 60FPS whilst the multiplayer runs at 30FPS and the filter does a very good job of hiding this hence why its there. Go check it out :D |
Right now I'm playing 'From Dust', 'Heroes of Newerth', and 'Global Agenda'. Feedback:
From Dust is getting a bad wrap for being a console port. Yes, its controls are a little clunky and the DRM issue is ridiculous, but the game still actually plays OK. It's quite fun and therapeutic, actually. I just hope it receives some patches and the FPS cap gets removed. Heroes of Neweth... just have some friends who play it for sure. Otherwise, teamwork is lacking, and the game becomes hellish as your teammates just make the enemy more powerful and you're helpless. Other than that, it can be great fun if you like that kind of game. Global Agenda I'm finding very fun, probably because I really prefer FPS to most MMO gameplay. The fact that it's skill-based and not gear-based is a refreshing change to me, and certainly worth the asking price. Which is nothing. :p |
Oh god, maybe I shouldn't have bought Street Fighter IV after all...
I got my ass handed to me by the first enemy in Arcade mode, on the easiest difficulty. Is there a button that allows me to block? And I'm using a regular controller, not an arcade fighting stick controller. |

I don't know, I'm a lot more used to Mortal Kombat's style of combat and this is way too complex for me! What the hell is an EX move, how the fuck do I do one?! Not to mention the move list thing that tells you really nothing...
|
:
But don't get me wrong, I prefer Mortal Kombat 9 to SSFIV. :p |
Mortal Kombat is a much simpler game to get into
I've never liked any Street Fighter game to be honest, I don't see why people kick up such a fuss about Street Fighter 2 (and its million versions) |
:
|
Doesen't mean it's good...
|
:
|
Yeah its good for what came of it, but people seem to think it's an amazing game
Maybe its just my personal opinion but I really don't like it. |
That is indeed your personal opinion.
|
I was playing Mass Effect 2 earlier, when I suddenly caught on to something I didn't before. Took me a while to find the appropriate video.
He wants a ship called the Iktomi? But that means his name would be Vas Iktomi! Vasectomy! Defrahnz is probably defrans, as in vas defrans, as in a tube in your balls. I like dick jokes. |
You've just reminded me.
I need to play Mass Effect 2 Oh and i've been re-playing Age of Empires II: Age of Kings and my mate let me borrow a few dozen PS2 games to play. One of them is Metal Gear Solid 2 which is a fantiasic game |
Tried out the Space Marine demo, Im a bit disappointed. Maybe because I read some early demo impressions that had some hyperbole. For a game seemingly centered round melee combat its disappointing that there seems to be one combo for the chainsaw sword, over and over again, the same combo. Guns feel really good though. Also, their method of regenerate health by killing enemies with melee sounds good in theory, but when most enemies die without you being able to do a take down it can be frustrating walking through the level with a quarter of health left. All this criticism aside, its still a fun game, a good game, just not a great game.
I also bought Deus Ex, and Im already hooked. Oh god, I spent half an hour exploring offices. |
Is that Warhammer 40,000?
|
Sure is.
|
I had a whirl at it at a friend's house yesterday.
It was enjoyable, but I guess I should have played the earlier games to be more hyped about it. He's giving me a lend of Crysis 2 when he's done with it, so I'll be looking forward to getting ripped into that. |
You know, Dix, I'm still waiting for that Portal 2 co-op with you. :(
|
Many people wait for me.
It adds to my mystique. |
Anyone been playing From Dust? It's a fantastic game in principle but it needs a lot of patching for the PC to make it playable. =/
|
Hey, I got this little thing called DEUS EX: HUMAN REVOLUTION in the mail.
Well, I'm one and a half hours in and it's already really amazing and I'm loving the story. If this is this good through out the whole game, I don't even need Skyrim or Saints 3, this game is the game. Yup, it's that good. |
I got it too. It's great fun, however I'm having major difficulty getting through the army bunker after the derelict row mission. There's this room with a sniper dude in the middle and a turret beneath him and lots of other dudes.
Shit is tough. |
I love the augmentation-upgrading system and non-lethal takeouts are my way to go.
If anyone gets this game (you better get the game too!), please don't go with the "boom boom kill shit that moves" style, stealth is so much more exciting. |
Deus Ex is about choosing how you want to play, sometimes I go guns blazing, though this one obviously caters a bit more to stealth. Anyways, you guys are already past me, I just do so much random shit in Detroit, Im doing every side mission. Just picked up the one where you go undercover to Derelect Row. Not sure how Im going to tackle it. What are you guys buying for your augments? Im not sure what will be good, so far I've only bought the social enhancer. Also, how do you recharge your power? My second battery seems to be permanently drained.
|
You find those little protein bar things that recharge your takeout -battery. I'm not far into the game either, but I've bought like... 3 or 4 augmentations so far. Also, I love the achievements, they're really challenging. (Beat the game without killing anyone except the bosses.)
|
I started playing Starcraft 2 again after a several month long break. So much fun, but I'm terrible at the moment.
|
I've just beaten the first boss in Deus Ex. He was pretty easy with the proximity-mine thingies that came with the pre-order bonus. I left Detroit and moved on to the next location in the game, Shanghai. Yay.
|
I've been playing Red Faction Guerilla. I've had it since March and I played it for the 6th time today. I'm really enjoying the intense gunplay, unrealistic car physics and big explosions.
I really like the sense of urgency in each mission that comes from the everlasting stream of EDF forces that pour into your location from every direction. It makes some of the better guarded buildings absolute hell to destroy. I've ended up cornered inside the building I was trying to destroy without any ammo. I was having to use the sledgehammer to kill and steal ammo from the advancing enemies. The mission to liberate the Parker region was hilarious. The objective was to drive into and destroy 10ish towers that the EDF needed for some bullshit reason. By the time I'd destroyed 5 I was being followed by an absurd amount of EDF cars. They were overtaking me, ramming me, exploding and flying all over the place. It was like something out of a fucking Blues Brothers movie. |
Still playing Deus Ex. I've passed Shanghai and am at the Picus Building.
Moving along pretty well, only I'm pretty low on ammo and generally end up barely making it through. |
Fruit Ninja [kinect] with Dorian. Spastic stupid fun.
|
If I'd have a Kinect, I'd most likely get Fruit Ninja if it was 400MSP cheaper, it's a bit too expensive 'cause you can get it for less than a dollar in the AppStore anyways. But I'm sure it's fun.
Anyways, guess what... Deus Ex! Yeah, I'm probably near the end of the game because (Major spoilers!) Malik died in the helicopter accident. I heard it's possible to save her, but I didn't know that at the time, now I feel sad. So yeah. Also, everyone should get the augment that allows you to jump up to 9ft in the air, you feel so badass jumping over people with your cyborg body. Fuck yeah. Also, I recommend the cloaking aug, the re-breather aug and the parachute aug. Go get the game if you haven't already, you're missing out on one of the best titles of the year! :p |
Really? Because the review I just read said it was pretty god damned bad. Although falling in the shadow of the last Deus Ex, plus the seemingly endless development time had most people expecting an amazing game. Anything less tends to make most nerds pitch a fit and nit-pick a game to hell and back. I'll probably rent it. Maybe.
As for fruit ninja, we're just playing the demo. The price tag is what's holding us back as well, but I'm sure it'll go on sale sooner rather than later. |
|
I've been playing a lot of Street Figher IV again, and holy hell is it fun. Tough as nails, but fun.
I'm probably gonna pick up Marvel vs. Capcom 3 sometime in the next few days. Can't wait to play that. |
DI, surely you're not speaking of the same game as I am. Ignore the reviews that say it's bad, if you like Fallout and stealth games at all, you'll love this.

completed Limbo. what a great adventure, i loved every moment of it, even if it did infuriate me at times. i now have a slight obsession with it.
|
I got and am playing Deus Ex as well. It's an extremely interesting game-when you're talking to people and creepin' around houses. Like Nixon.
The combat caters to either 'Kill 'em all' or 'Sneak like a mofo'. I even unwittingly missed the 'Pacifist' achievement (no kills) by killing EVERY SINGLE person in the prologue mission. It was awesome. Also, I'd suggest silencing, laser sighting, piercing and damage upgrading the hell out of it. Weapon of the year. Also can't play right unless you buy the break through walls ability. |
