There are plenty of stores around here that are booming that buy games for half of what they sell.

Booming, I doubt. Breaking even? Surviving? Sure.

Booming. Like, multiple locations, putting several other stores out of business booming.

Maybe it's some kind of trading law, but in England all stores I've seen, independant or not buy your games for half the price they sell them on.

I won't sell my used games, and I won't buy used games. I want to deplete their new inventory so that they have to order more from their distributor. If I like something, I want the people that made it to get my money.
