What Vykkers only have two fingers?
|
The Vykkers I found that have two fingers on one hand, also has three fingers as well. Here are some of them.
http://www.oddworld.com/firsttenyear...s/pop_left.jpg The one of the ground has two fingers being held up. http://www.oddworld.com/firsttenyear...ets/insult.gif Look at this one's right top hand to see two fingers. http://www.oddworld.com/firsttenyear...s/scroll06.jpg Irwin's top left hand here has two fingers as well. It gives me curiousity in why some Vykkers have two fingers on one hand, and other hands have three. |
I think it just depends on the angle you're looking at it. One of the fingers could be hidden behind the others, or it could be extended away from the camera and blocked behind the wrist.
|
Some concept art displayed them with only two digits on each hand. Perhaps that is the origin of his confusion.
|
yes that is weird.

Question. Does anyone know what the Outlaw says to the other next to him, on the Opple Farm, right after Meagley tells them not to let anyone on the farm?
I'm not ever able to understand that. |
Meagly: "Don't none of you idiots let anyone on the farm now, ya hear me?!"
Shooter to Cutter (whispering): "Ain't that a double negative?" Meagly: "I heard that!" |
People!Who have sketches with horned steef, butnot from the TOGG?
|
All images that are available to the public are on TOGG.
|
I was playing SW and I checked my inventory (I was on my way to Sekto Spring's) and on the picture of the helmet the horns were on it.Are his horns fake?
|
no those are holes to put the horns in, but that dosnt really make sense since they are curled. Unless strangers hornes are extremely flexible :D
|
:
|
Stranger has no horns, so obviously they are attatched to the armour. Whether or not they are genuine steef horn is as yet undetermined.
|
:
Now, is he saying it's a double negative because there's already so many people on the Farm, or what? |
No, the sentence Meagly spoke was a double negative. “Don't” and “none” cancel each other out. The literal meaning of his order is “One or more of you idiots let anyone on the farm.”
Double negatives according to Wikipedia |
Ohh, that makes perfect sense now, Thanks, Max!

I have a quick question:
Why is it necessary for Abe to have a last name if all mudokons come from the same queen? Unless of course there are multiple mudokon queens on Oddworld and there last names represent what queen they come from. However, this still seems to me that mudokons having a last name is unnecessary. |
Does abe even have a last name?
|
His full name is Abraham Lure...
|
Well his full name has never been mentioned in canon. The only reason we suspect it is his full name in canon is because of the cryptic remark Alf's Assistant once left us that Abe did have a last name. But he may just have been teasing us.
There are a lot of Mudokons, possibly more Mudokons than there are common names for them. Thus a last name might go some way to further identify them, which is how family names in Europe developed. A lot of them describe an ancestor's function in the community such as a Wainwright, who made carts, or a Pollard, who pollarded trees. Abe's name refers to him being a fisher - which we've never seen him doing yet. Maybe he hasn't yet been given his full name, or maybe it's a trivial matter compared to the epic story of the Quintology. Personally, I think giving Abe a relaxing position in society would be a humble and quaint thing. He'd love it. |
:
I'm not sure if Alf's Assistant told you his last name right then and there, but you know it is mentioned in the Book, near some concept art for Abe's Oddysee. I haven't got my book with me right now, though. *Walks away feeling incomplete.* |
Yes; I never suggested otherwise.
AA suggested Abe had a last name, and then the book was released. |
This isn't really a question, more of an observation. Has anyone else noticed that the powerful beings of Oddworld (i.e.Glukkons,Sligs,Oktigi) are physically, the weakest. I find it ironic.
|
Yeah, but look at the world we live in. I wouldn't place a buck on Dubya, Blair, Little Johnny and Bill Gates tag-teaming vs Mr. T.
|
Actually, I found that Gloktigis are quite powerful, and so are Outlaws. So, the members of Oddworld are powerful in their own way. Glukkons are powerful through tree climbing at one time, and commanding armies of Sligs. Oktigi can suck the life out of you. Sligs. They are tree climbers too.
I have a question. You know those Slig and Glukkon repawners? How do they repawn Sligs and Glukkons? Like, it doesn't make any sense, being that there would be an infinite amount of Glukkons and Sligs running around? Is there some sort of cloning process happening? Or is there something else happening? |
I always thought they were being transported, like the wells. The sligs report whenever a glukkon calls them, and I guess Wanna-Be glukkons just think a Big Cheese has called them or something.
|
:
Abraham Lure, I'm pretty sure is/was his full name. In the Official Art of Oddworld Book, it mentions that he originally was going to be portrayed as a fisherman in the wild with his pet, Elum. They ended up changing it, but that's where the hinting name comes from. This may have been before they thought of queens, though. I presume there's more than one queen, because otherwise if it eventually died, the species would ultimately become extinct. And the planets 10 times the size of our own. Only one queen seems unlikely. |
Not all of Oddworld is populated by Mudokons. Their native land is Mudos, which is only the size of Nicaragua. The Mudokons do only have one queen, because that's how Lorne designed it. He wanted to explore the priorities of a society whose entire existence depended upon an individual.
|
i know this is a bit out of the blue but do sligs originate from the sea or used to live there? because glukons and otikgie (can't spell it right) all look rarther similar. just curious.
|
Ah, welcome Slig master. Anyway, I don't think we know the actual answer, because Sligs' orgins isn't too important to the story. But in my thoughts, Sligs had came up from marshes or swamps, not really the ocean. And thus creates that Sligs may have lived on the trees, nearby marshy shores. But this is just a prediction, not a fact.
Actually, Oktigi and Glukkons are from the same family of Ogtigi. Or, if you're pointing at the fact Sligs are related to Glukkons or Oktigi, I would say no. Sligs are more of squid type of creature, rather than an octopi creature. |
Huh? Squid = Octpi in my estimation.
You're half right though; sligs evolved in swamps from slug-like creatures. |

Where'd you get that? |
|
The Oddworld library is definately MY friend Xavier, great description of Oddworld dude.
|
I didn't write it ;)
it's from Xbox.com, thus an official source :) |
Oh, it was good, so I thought you'd have made it lol.
