We may have already seen more of it just looking at the pre alpha images, im sure i have seen one with a feeco train..

Xavier 01-02-2013 02:55 AM

Aren't you confusing with some amazing fan art?

They said wait 'til late January, they'll announce it properly then.

Ah brilliant, thanks! :)

Scrabaniac 01-03-2013 12:30 PM

Pretty sure the one o have in mind is the pre alpha image, it has the JAW and OWI logo on it

STM 01-03-2013 02:06 PM

I think what you're thinking of is actually a boiler and not an engine.

Scrabaniac 01-03-2013 02:53 PM

http://www.hookedgamers.com/images/4...n_tasty007.jpg is it a boiler? They look so similar

Vyrien 01-03-2013 03:19 PM

Pretty sure that's a furnace. You can see another in the back left.

Wil 01-03-2013 04:16 PM

Furnaces.

Bullet Magnet 01-04-2013 03:13 PM

Do you think the Glukkons deliberately build faces into all their machines, or do such design outcomes escape their notice?

Varrok 01-04-2013 03:19 PM

The machines look like Glukkons? o_O

Crashpunk 01-04-2013 03:35 PM

Yep. They have the whole super villain thing going on.

Nate 01-04-2013 04:19 PM

I think it's probably an ego thing. And possibly a quazi-totalitarian expression of power over their workers/slaves.

Vyrien 01-04-2013 04:49 PM

The Vykkers were partial to doing this as well.

http://i.imgur.com/IQJIH.png

Although it's more prevalent in Glukkon architecture, I assumed it was intended to intimidate.

Phylum 01-04-2013 05:06 PM

Glukkons are too tight to build gigantic statues of themselves, so they just work it into the infrastructure.

Bullet Magnet 01-04-2013 06:16 PM

I wondered if they might not notice it. An alien looking and a human house might see a resemblance in the positions of doors and windows to a face.

Strike Witch 01-05-2013 01:10 AM

Maybe all the buildings are actually alive.

Crashpunk 01-05-2013 01:20 AM

Anything with a face is alive. The FeeCo Train must have a great time going around Oddworld.

I never noticed that. Pretty cool.

Bullet Magnet 01-05-2013 06:24 AM

Seriously? I don't believe you.

Nate 01-05-2013 03:13 PM

That one looks more like an Octigi than a Vykker.

Bullet Magnet 01-05-2013 03:24 PM

It reminds me of the Magog Cartel logo.

Nate 01-05-2013 03:26 PM

Which is based on the shape of an Octigi.

Either way, it's an odd symbol for a Vykker ship.

Bullet Magnet 01-05-2013 03:30 PM

Depends one who built it. Is the ship even unique to the Vykkerz, or have they bought a Magog model?

Scrabaniac 01-05-2013 03:33 PM

Waitwaitwaitwait... So Vykkers are NOT part of the Magog Cartel?

Vyrien 01-05-2013 03:38 PM

The artbook says in relation to this picture,

"The docking station was designed with the Vykkers image in mind; a large head and four arms. The head contains fuel and hydrogen for the docking blimps, the arm joints hold anti-aircraft guns."

It really does look like the Magog logo though, which is what I thought when I first saw it

The Vykkers are part of the Vykkers Conglomerate, a sometimes rival, sometimes partner Super-corporation to the Magog Cartel.

Wil 01-05-2013 03:47 PM

Vykkers are part of the Magog Cartel.

Glukkons are another part of the Magog Cartel.

Vyrien 01-05-2013 03:50 PM

What? Really?

A lot of the bullshit online needs clearing up.

Bullet Magnet 01-05-2013 03:53 PM

I also thought they were a separate group. I had that drilled into me by a reliable, Nod-like source.

Wil 01-05-2013 03:57 PM

The Vykkers and Glukkons are separate groups. They're competing industrial families with their own agendas, quotas and specialties, fighting each other over capital, contracts, resources, airtime and markets. Just like real corporations, they frequently negotiate to work together. That's always been the case.

What I got wrong in the past was nomenclature.

Nate 01-05-2013 09:21 PM

Oh. I thought the Magog cartel had a whole lot of infighting groups, but only within the Octigi family (in the taxonomic sense of the word 'family').
