Oh and Dr. Manhattan was in it and at one point he appears in front of Julia Roberts (in her imagination) and she says to him "Everything must end" or something

Now I must see this movie

Mac Sirloin 08-18-2010 06:45 AM

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World and part of Dinner for Shmucks

SP was fucking brilliant. Truly a modern masterpiece that surpasses the source material. Everyone should see it. Especially since it's tanking.

Strike Witch 08-20-2010 06:05 PM

I'd rather watch the David Lynch 3-hour cut of Dune.

Oh, I did!

Ouch, gotta love hamming it up Patrick Steward.

And this guy.

Watched In the Mouth of Madness and was pleasantly surprised. I was never a huge fan of John Carpenter, and thought The Thing was just a fluke (and I guess still could be, since he was just adapting an existing story). This however, outside of the silly wall of monsters near the end, was pretty good, and Sam Neill was just great. Unlike the other two movies in his "Apocalypse" trilogy, this one actually delivered on that promise instead of giving a hopeful ending.

28 Days Later. Not as violent as everybody made it out to be, but the scene with the eye gouging was painful to watch.

MeechMunchie 08-23-2010 06:32 AM

That was 28 Weeks Later, the sequel, and oddly enough the film I was about to mention anyway.

It was better than I expecting, not great, but perfectly adequate sequel to the original. I especially liked the subtle twist at the end with the Eiffel Tower, showing that Rage has made it to Europe. I noticed that most of the characters were American now, but they justified that with the plot. They did overuse that song which had been used to such great effect in 28DL, which kind of spoiled an otherwise good movie.

The first movie had an eye gouging too.

Saw The Expendables, and my ears are still ringing. So much screaming and explosions at the end of the movie, volume full blast. Still, it was worth it, I've not had so much fun with a straight up action movie in years.

Josh 08-24-2010 05:25 AM

The Hills Have Eyes 2 was good, but not as scary as the first.

Ju On - The Grudge wasn't as scary as people made it out to be. It was more of a "WTF Japan?" film. I did like that there was a woman named Kazumi in a Ghost Film.

just watched Jeremiah Johnson, brilliant film. when Bear Claw turns up again near the end, and says "so, was it worth the trouble?" the look on Jeremiah's face says it all.

Antichrist, A Serbian Film and Trash Humpers were all sweet azz.

Antichrist

Wasn't it you who said that anyone coming in here and saying that they saw Antichrist was an "edgy" piece of shit?

Alf Shall Rise 08-25-2010 01:37 PM

A few days ago, I watched An American Werewolf in London. I thought it was pretty funny, although I'm not sure if the film was intentionally trying to be humorous.

Yes. It was intentionally trying to be humorous.

Josh 08-26-2010 06:39 AM

I'm watching it right now. This had better be good.

OANST 08-26-2010 08:15 AM

I liked it. Just don't watch An American Werewolf in Paris. It took everything that was special about the first and threw it out.

Probably lol, I was saying that about Trash Humpers too. Just gotta watch them more than once.

See, at the moment, I think Mr Lonely and Inception are kind of balls. I'm sure I'd warm up to them.

Dynamithix 08-29-2010 06:10 AM

I watched Shaun of the dead. For the 7th time.

Love it. :)

Mr. Bungle 08-29-2010 02:07 PM

I watch the original Alien movie last night, was brilliant.

I watched Alien vs. Predator: Requiem, too, because my friend meant to bought the original AVP, but fucked up. It was pretty damn bad.

Wings of Fire 08-29-2010 02:16 PM

There's a lot of bad between those two movies, starting with Alien 3.

Sekto Springs 08-29-2010 09:33 PM

Alien Resurrection is awesome. You shut your mouth.

It was an alright film, just not as good as the first two.

MeechMunchie 08-30-2010 09:31 AM

I saw The Ring. It lived up to its reputation.

Also saw Scott Pilgrim vs The World. T'was average.

Alien Resurrection is awesome.

Agreed.

Also, I saw [REC]2, a great Spanish horror film. I loved the first one and the second one was amazing too.

SPOILERS

Though, I didn't really like the plot of the "infection" being possession of some kind. And that the devil was a... larva? But overall a great movie.

Shut your horrible craw. I am allowed to enjoy a movie that 100% appealed to me. You also have thunderously abhorrent taste compared to mine, so your opinions are like dust from old dry poopedables. Good day.

Mr. Bungle 08-30-2010 11:13 PM

I've been watching the latest Futurama Series, and it's been brilliant. Strongly recommend watching them.

Had to torrent them due to the fact that Comedy Central sucks, and refuses to let us Canadians watch their channel legally (as far as i know, anyways)

Mac Sirloin 08-30-2010 11:24 PM

I watched the Simpsons movie for the first time since it came out. It's such an easy way to lose an hour and a half, because it's just watchable. You can watch it and watch it, but it's still pretty okay.

Nate 08-31-2010 04:38 AM

Just watched Inception. It was pretty good.
