I'm playing Escape From Monkey Island.

There was a discussion in the Idle Thumbs forum about the MI games which quickly devolved in to a rant about EFMI and how much everyone hated it. I remember disliking it quite a bit too, so I decided to play it again to see if it was really quite as bad as I remember it.

Thus far it's been quite good. Controls are shite but the characters and puzzles have been amusing and interesting enough. Meeting yourself from the future in the Mists o' Time Swamp was brilliant. Unfortunately, I know that the Monkey Kombat is still ahead of me...

Wings of Fire 06-25-2009 02:24 PM

Playing Braid.

Wow, just wow :D.

Dark Elite_H2 06-26-2009 09:49 AM

I WOULD be buying Transformers 2 and be playing that...

But obviously, my arms don't have the stretchable power to reach all the way from the west coast to my house on the east coast to play it...

Damn human nature...

Mac Sirloin 06-26-2009 10:25 AM

I'm Playing Star-Wars Battlefront 2 at the moment. Dark Troopers are the weirdest looking fuckers ever.

Try downloading the Rez soundtrack and using it. Might not be your cup of tea for musical taste but it should definitely up the ante in fun.

How have they made a soundtrack of a game whose music is rather dependent on each user action?

Mac Sirloin 06-26-2009 05:04 PM

The music was made prior to the game. Eden's music sounds completely different on the OST, but Rock is Sponge is fucking awesome.

Jordan 06-28-2009 06:49 AM

I got The Orange Box yesterday. I've been playing HL2 and Portal, they're fun.

OANST 07-02-2009 07:37 AM

I finished Sam and Max Save The World yesterday. It was fantastic. The musical numbers alone are worth the money. I walk around all day singing the words "They're probably hiding a cow".

Laser 07-02-2009 07:46 AM

I've re bought Evil Genius and have been playing that.

It certaintly is a funny game...slightly too slow pased though but well worth the wait when you interogate an enemy agent in a industrial mixer

OANST 07-14-2009 11:50 AM

I bought Battlefield 1943 yesterday. It's a lot of fun for only being fifteen dollars.

stonetooth 07-14-2009 12:09 PM

I'm playing Wolf Team. Quite fun, 'tis a downloadable game from softnyx.

OddYouko 07-14-2009 12:18 PM

As of right now. Tekken Tag Tournament, Tekken4, Tekken5, Oddworld Abe's Oddysee, and Spyro Dawn of the Dragon.

I'm patiently waiting for Tekken6 Bloodline Rebellion to come out this Oct. :D

Anonyman! 07-14-2009 12:22 PM

I've been waiting to find out if someone I know has this. I don't want to buy it and play with random Xbox dicks. I prefer the Xbox dicks I'm familiar with.

It can be pretty frustrating at times. Mostly because everyone else is better than me. Also, it seems to like spawning me two feet in front of enemy tanks. Like seven times in a row. Spawn, die. Spawn, die. Spawn, die.

On the other hand, I will occasionally find a really good sniping spot and just fuck people up for an entire match. It's also very satisfying to knock planes out of the sky with the anti-aircraft gun.

Mac Sirloin 07-15-2009 01:56 PM

When I played the trial I'd stand behind teammates peaking out of corners and get them shot.

Alcar 07-15-2009 04:41 PM

Before I lost my iPhone, I was playing EDGE.

Cool game. Getting the S+ score on most levels was very frustrating.

Alcar...

joshkrz 07-15-2009 04:45 PM

Playing classic games nowadays. Tomb Raider III at the moment, aiming for all secrets.

mr.abe 07-15-2009 04:47 PM

Leto 07-16-2009 12:14 AM

Fable 2.

it's complete casual gaming mindless fun.

Phylum 07-16-2009 12:47 AM

Bought the Leisure Suit Larry collection the other day.

I'm really getting pissed off at the questions before Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards.

Havoc 07-16-2009 10:31 AM

Starting with Prototype in a few minutes, I will let you know how it is.

Mac Sirloin 07-16-2009 02:26 PM

Havoc, would it be worth buying for about half the price new, or should I just wait a few months?

Leto 07-16-2009 11:27 PM

definitely wait a few months, I found it pretty boring and stale. it was crackdown x gta + a little bit of spiderman. i liked crackdown and gta to an extent, but I felt like I'd played this formula once too many times before

Strike Witch 07-17-2009 01:43 AM

Completed the Mobile Suit Gallery for Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2. Now all I need to do is find all the parts =/

It's by the same people who made Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, though, and I fucking LOVE that game.

Crashpunk 07-17-2009 12:40 PM

I'm Hooked on Metal Slug (Best arcade game EVER)

Havoc 07-17-2009 04:43 PM

Prototype is a very awesome game if you like the sandbox genre. You can do pretty much whatever you like, the city is your playground. I haven't finished the game yet but a few things I've noticed is that sometimes it's not entirely clear what to do. You just get a one line mission note and have to figure the rest out for yourself (which I don't mind, but I've gotten a little spoiled in finding out things on my own since every game in the last 10 years has been pointing out every single detail with big red arrows). Also there are a lot of sidetrack things to do like 'events' and a sort of territorial minigame that goes on during the game which you can sort of influence.

I actually got this game because I was at this game store where you can testplay any game you wish (this place is so awesome, every city in the world should have a store like this). So I played the first level for about 15 minutes and thought the game was good enough to give a try so I decided to buy it. Then the store clerk says that he'll check if he has it second hand (this store also has a very nifty system for buying and selling used games) which he had, so I only payed about half price for it as well.

Mac Sirloin 07-17-2009 10:21 PM

That's what I'm going to do.

Go shoe shopping? Form a significant emotional relationship? Not be a mutated fuck?

Sandbox my prostate, unless you're definition of 'sandbox' is as limited as "be able to run around a fucking city".
