What if the audio also contains a morse code? Did you think about that?
|
The maximum I got out of it was some sort of barcode-like spectrum, but I'm farily sure that's only cognitive bias. I'm trying to get my hands on Edison though, I used to obtain great results with it on the audio side of things. Never used for ARGs but who knows.
|
Well, i have a feeling that if these clues are not complete, we will have another clue very soon!
|
Is there somewhere that we can see all info about the ARG so far? I found a wikia on it but it seemed incomplete and/or disorganised to me...
|
Sadly the best thing you can do, as far as I know, is to read trough these threads...
Or maybe this wiki page can you help you a bit: http://wiki.gamedetectives.net/index...rld:_Soulstorm |
Want to skim through what's happened in the Arg? Try here :)
http://oddworld.wikia.com/wiki/Soulstorm_ARG |
Both the wikia and the Game Detectives wiki are outdated.
|
Yeah sorry about that. I'll update it asap.

*Skimmed wikia* Oh damn, you're right! Oops. Xav, ya Slackin buddy :p
Lol |
So has anyone got any idea on why the OTT part of the morse code (maybe it isnt OTT but for referencing's sake...) is spaced out like it is, whereas all the rest of it is spaced normally? Any ideas at all?
|
:
|
i was thinking maybe it symbolises 1 out of 3 ( --- - - ) and then the other codes might be second --- --- - and third --- --- --- .... hust a wild guess, probably wrong lol.. could it refer to the first of the 3 images??
|
Do you think the past games getting a discount the past few weeks may be related to anything?
|
Well probably it's to cause hype. If people see the sales, maybe they pick the games up or just think about the series, discover the ARG and such. It's "free" advertisement.
|
Well, that and to maybe get some more people in on the ARG, considering it's basically dead
|
it's dead coz theyve gave us low res frames with illegible pigpen symbols... that pigpen tells us the release date of soulstorm. u heard it here first
|
The ARG is only going to get less interest as it goes along, because it's a niche experience and not inclusive of the larger fandom. There's nothing particularly Oddworldian about the puzzles, which is disappointing, and most people taking part don't actually know any of the ciphers, they're just Googling the answers, which seems kind of moot.
The unveiled pictures are neat, but that's all most folk care about. |
Wow, people are getting kinda of lame
=D Hype up people! |
I thought everything in that short video was solved? Is there still stuff to do or are we waiting on something else?
|
:
The initial one last March was lowkey and intended purely for the fans, with the Ed reveal and some other highlights being the end goal, along with the reveal of the various Abe bodypart stills. This year we opened it a little wider, stretched out the puzzles more to end in visual reveals like the photos and the recent video. The images got us some great press and people seem to really dig the style we're crafting. We're deliberately not keeping it entirely within the Oddworld universe in terms of the actual puzzles because the goal was to widen the appeal somewhat, which we think we achieved. Although many of them absolutely are linked to Oddworld, but perhaps not that directly. Look harder. With anything like this, we rely a little on you guys spreading the word and asking friends, family for help, and so on. That's how ARGs work, at least to my knowledge. As for what's next? Well, you'll have to wait and see. However, while by definition the ARG itself might well be niche, obviously there's a greater message being told, one that ties into Soulstorm, and the closer you're following it and the more you're invested, the more obvious that will be when you see and play the game. Let's just say I hope somebody is taking NOTEs. But there are multiple goals here with the image reveals - yes we want you guys to be excited about each new screenshot, but we also want to see non-hardcore fans getting back into the brand, and those new to the series, which we're definitely witnessing. :

Hey Alex, thanks for sharing this, good to see the ARG is providing the expected results :D
:
There you go, just finished updating it: http://oddworld.wikia.com/wiki/Souls...d_transmission :) |
Damn, amazing work you did there man, it really helps immersing yourself into the ARG.
|
^-^ time for some reading
|
Thanks Nemin, I'm happy you like it.

This part of the ARG is super brutal, it makes me wonder if we're really supposed to be tackling it this way. :fuzconf: EDIT: Looking at it a bit more it seems the biggest issue we have is video quality. I've been looking at the video directly on YouTube and it seems the glyphs are a bit clearer there: https://youtu.be/2l4jZVTUoak?t=1 I think it would really help us to have the original movie file. |
Np Xav :)
I'll be honest, I haven't checked them for a while. But I'm kind of buggered by the NOTEs. Do we have music-sheet transposable data we didn't use yet? :P |
;D always a smile in my face when i see new posts
|
Heya!!! How is everyone been a bit unwell this week so yeah so no word on pic 4 hopefully we get something because its End of March next week.
|
Hey guys! Sorry, this week has been crazy xP But Alex and Varstahl's mention of NOTEs reminded me of something I saw a few weeks ago on 1029.io back at the end of February. I didn't really think too much of it at the time because it didn't seem to be connected to anything else, but I screencapped it anyway just in case. :D
14498 1029.io isn't showing this same configuration of highlighted letters spelling 'NOTE' anymore, though. Or at least it didn't when I reloaded the page a few times just now. Also, Xav, thank you for updating the Wikia! I wonder if there is a way we can get the original movie file... but then again, this may end up being the clues we follow for Image 4 and maybe then they'll give us a better quality downloadable version. Hope you're feeling better, tmakz! |
Well everything I can remember about NOTE is that it actualy abbreviation of NineOneTwoEight.
|
Ugh, has anyone figured out anything? I'm so impatient to just move on to the next part of the ARG. I've loved following along to the beat of the forum even if I do lag behind when it comes to solving these puzzles, and now that they've dried up for the time being I find myself impulsively checking in whenever and wherever I can and it drives me crazy!
|
:
Well I saved a copy of the highligted letters early Feb and as far as I can tell it has always been like that, it only shows up randomly after a few refreshes of the page: http://oddworldlibrary.net/archives/...201029.io.html As Silver angel just posted we always assumed those letters were highlighted as a reference to 8291, Eight Two Nine One |
I found this in 1029.io code. If I remember right, words weren't there earlier.
WHA TIF WET |
That's "WHATIFWETOLDYOUTOO". But the community already solved it, and got the newest video.
|
:
|
It's probably a hangover from whatifwetoldyouto.

At this point it's hard to tell what's going on. I wish I could contribute somehow, but I'm way too lost between the clues. |
If you want to know what the latest status is have a look here:
http://www.oddworldforums.net/showpo...&postcount=507 We're still stuck on those codes |
