Is it part of the Munch's Oddysee story? I was very bad at english when I played that one.

Sam is basically like the hive queen/mom of the current batch of Mudokons. Shes being held in captivity right now so all her children are basically born into slavery. We were supposed to end up seeing her in Munch's Oddysee but her subplot didn't end up making the cut (though we do get to save her 'Labor eggs' from Vykker's Lab).

It would be pretty neat if they did end up mentioning her a bit in this one! Maybe as a set up for a later game :D

But i'm full of hope she's alive & will be seen somewhere.

All in good time. A huge part of Munch's Oddysee was originally meant to be about the queens—both Lady Margaret and Sam. Sadly, both were whittled down to the bare minimum inclusion.

I have no doubts that the eventual sequel to Soulstorm will include a lot of the dropped plot lines from Munch's Oddysee. After all, we need to meet Lady Margaret before her grandmother makes an appearance and starts raining down hellfire across Mudos in an effort to quench the Mudokon uprising. Considering Soulstorm seems to be offering a greater focus on the resistance against the Magog Carel, I'm confident we're going to get everything we were ever promised, plus much more.

I really can't do the untold stories justice, so I encourage all new members to read Nate's interview with Lorne Lanning. You won't regret it.

I remember the absolute hype when I got all 300 Mudokons for the first time on Exoddus as a kid, I was aware of Munch's Oddysee but I didn't have an Xbox, and at the end of Exoddus it tells you about how you're going to meet Munch and Sam etc, and I thought it was gonna let us see them for the first time, but it didn't. So they kinda get a mention in Exoddus haha.

There’s a whole lot of extra information/backstory about Oddworld that’s never made it into the games. Some of it has been talked about in interviews, Dear Alf columns, the old oddworld.com site, and the Art of Oddworld book – I highly encourage anyone who wants to learn more about Oddworld to read up on the Oddworld Encyclopaedia and the Oddworld Wiki.

With New 'n' Tasty I was hoping they would go more in depth about this sort of stuff. The way they're handling Soulstorm this time around really feels like we'll finally get the chance to see some of this stuff executed in a game. They're telling the story they never got a chance to properly tell and that's pretty great.

If we ever going to see Sam in Soulstorm that would be awesome.

Yeah that was pretty kick-ass. That along with the door to Rupture Farms really made Feeco Depot. a cool area. This is all making me want to start another playthrough of Exoddus... :D

Vykkers Lab. Molding the future out of you.

With all this talk about dropped content and lore, I really want to know the future of the Oddworld franchise.
Like, Soulstorm is extrapolating on Exoddus's story. But what then? Munch's Oddyssey takes place after that on the timeline, and considering the HD remake, I doubt we'll see a story overhaul for that game like we're getting with Soulstorm. Perhaps the next game will take place after Munch's Oddyssey and delve into the Queens?

I guess it will depend all from Soulstorm' story and from how it will end. Perhaps Munch's Exoddus is going to be a thing if the next game takes place after MO, but I doubt it.

We’re all dying to know, after all the last game in the timeline was Stranger’s Wrath, which came out in 2005 – 12 years ago!

I think the problem now is that New n Tasty may have started a new continuity, so I’m not sure if Munch’s Oddysee and Stranger’s Wrath remain canon…

After playing the swimming segments of Inside, a huge part of me really wants to see a 2D re-imagining of Munch's Oddysee in the same vain of Soulstorm. I imagine OWI must be sick of remakes & remasters at this point but Munch is the one game that needs it the most to be honest.

Were there ever any plans to make Munch's Exoddus? I swear I heard that somewhere.

Gunnr is right, looks like there are still things hidden out there.

For instance I don't think we've ever figured out what those arrows stood for.

I think they're patiently stalling until tomorrow so the ARG isn't over really quickly, although I'm sure there are a few details we've missed so far.

I wouldn't mind a gentle nudge in the right direction right now - we're not sure what we're supposed to be looking at/for right now

I does seem like this is all a new continuity now. The marketing for Soulstorm has made a point of emphasising this is a new game, based on Exoddus but not Exoddus.

Going forward, assuming the overarching quintology structure remains intact, you can assume some version of a Munch story will come next, but it is unlikely to be the MO that we know. If we can extrapolate from OWI's approach to Soulstorm, of expanding on a story and adding new content etc, it seems entirely possible Munch would go back to the original plans and we'd get a game more akin to what Lorne referred to in Nate's interview. Especially if, as all indicators suggest, this new continuity will be more mature and darker to some extent going forward.

As for Stranger, seeings as it was a standalone tale unconnected to Abe, there's no reason why it couldn't remain cannon as nothing really overwrites it (yet).

I don't think Munch HD would affect there being a new take at some point in the future. Munch and Stranger HD were more about bringing those games to new platforms to generate revenue for New n Tasty, as opposed to cementing that timeline as the one true cannon.

We can just keep sending them any knew details we noticed that haven't been posted yet.

That's right. Since figuring out it was a Mudokon, they said they encrypting the 1st Photo. We looked after everything else, but OWI didn't say anything to it. So we're blind since this part. I think, the Tweets are parts to get more People to the ARG.
Me, myself & i was so goddamn hyped about Munch's Exoddus. At the very moment, it got canceled somethin' died inside me... and Stranger's Wrath didn't fill the hole, since it was only a Canon.
For the sake of Oddworld, i hope Soulstorm goes famous & the Story goes finaly on!

i take this thing in 2 timelines:

OLD TIMELINE: Abe's Oddysee, Abe's Exoddus, Munch's Oddysee (+Stranger's Wrath)

NEW TIMELINE (REBOOT): New N Tasty , Soulstorm , Munch's Oddysee "2.0" (the original one from Lorne's mind) (+Stranger's Wrath)

Now the only thing that we don't know is Munch's Exoddus. In the NEW TIMELINE , there are 2 ways:

1) or Soulstorm would probably have a big piece of story about Munch's Oddysee, so Munch's Oddysee will be "re-made" with the original story of Munch's Exoddus (so in short Munch's Oddysee will be Munch's Exoddus).

2) or Soulstorm will be the original "Abe's Exoddus" story only and then we'll have Munch's Oddysee "2.0" (original story without cuts) and Munch's Exoddus as apart.

Tell me what you're thinking about this.

Just an idea, but is there any chance the arrows refer to the image sections, so maybe the image names and the arrow order is another kind of code?

If they are waiting for us to find something, my guesses for where to look would be:

a) There's additional stuff hidden in the audio
b) We need to find a use for the numbers from the two numbers puzzles, 12 & 20
c) We need to find a use for the directional arrows from the image we cleaned up
d) We're intended to notice something about the collage picture which we haven't yet before we're allowed to proceed

Aw, it's a shame Munch's Exoddus never happened. I like Munch a lot so I think he really does deserve to get his story told properly at some point in the future.

I think the 2nd one would be better for Soulstorm. It would be better for the overall plot if they keep it simple with the story of Exoddus and then save any Munch stuff for a potential Munch's Oddysee 2.0

The first one could be a pain in the ass for OWI, since they need to remake the entire series in this case. And I don't think they're really going to add Munch in Soulstorm.

The second one a pain too due to the same reason of before, but more reasonable and affordable.

Anyhow I believe Soulstorm it's gonna be more than AE. A plot rebuilded, a new game for real. And I have the feeling that this game it's going to be more dark than Exoddus and the other titles. Something that we OW Fans never seen before. It could be the start of something new too, but not tasty for sure. Indeed, something disgusting (in the good way).
