Crash Tag Team Racing.

One of the funniest games I've played. It's just completely daft which I just love; Filled with slapstick, burps and farts, We all love them right? :D

The adventure part of the game is actually better then the racing part. I say adventure. It was pretty much a playable hub world for all the tracks with a few challenges. It tried to replicate the original Crash gameplay and did it quite well (Not as well as Twinsanity) The jumping is pretty good and the spin is so satisfying, you can keep tapping the button to keep spinning all over the place.

The racing is good fun but it's just too easy. There isn't that much challenge in it apart from the later tracks. The weapons you can fire at the other players are really fun to use, every character has there own and you can mix and mash between you and the driver. Oh there is also a battle mode which is a lot of fun and a stunt mode. There is also some mini-games like bowling but they suck.

Okay, yes. It is a Mario Kart Double Dash rip-off but I think it is somewhat of an underrated gem. It's a good game and was I thought the last truly good Crash game.
After Tag Team, Crash went into a downward spiral of shit games.

Holy crap, I just realized I've just made a massive speech about Crash Tag Team racing.

So, I picked up my Witcher 2 Dark Edition today. I then found out they are somewhat rare and I could make quite the profit in it. I'm torn on whether or not to open it.

I am not playing the Witcher 2 right now.

Dynamithix 04-17-2012 10:52 PM

They are really rare because there are so few of them in the world. I really wanted one but they ran out of them right when they were available for pre-order here. Guess I'll buy the regular copy later on then.

I finally started playing Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks on my DS. I got it two years ago but just now I decided to beat the game. I'm now on the way to the Marine Temple I think. God, the travelling by train is so tedious at this point, other than that I really like the game. Good game so far, I really should play some other LoZ games, this is actually my first one.

So basically, they are rare because they are rare.

He's right because what he's saying is true

Dynamithix 04-18-2012 06:40 AM

You can't argue with my logic.

Varrok 04-18-2012 07:27 AM

Playing Crash Bandicoot 2. Again. Thanks, Crashpunk -.-

With emulator graphics it holds up well :D

Manco 04-18-2012 08:17 AM

What emulator/graphics plugin is that? I use ePSXe with Paul’s OGL plugin, but I’ve never seen anything that nice.

Then again my PC is terrible.

Varrok 04-18-2012 08:23 AM

It's epsxe with Pete's OGL2 plugin (so really close) with everything maxed off + OpenGL Antialiasing shader (from pixel shaders from Pete's site; AA makes big difference)... Can't tell it's the best it can do (I mean... http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images...03it2.png/sr=1 - i've tried almost every shader to make my game look like that with no luck : o)

Manco 04-18-2012 08:37 AM

Ah, it’s probably the AA and shader that makes all the difference. I have to turn most settings down to keep a decent framerate, and AA is completely disabled on my GPU chip.

That screenshot looks like some kind of cel shading plugin.

Finally going to get Skyrim this week.

I refused to buy it until it was patched a few times, I remember unpatched Oblivion. It was nightmarish. One bug in particular I read about, which was universal across all Xbox 360s, apparently stopped high-res textures from loading if the game was installed and running from a hard drive.

I always play my games from the hard drive, because they load quicker, reduces the risk of console burnout and of course, stops me thinking there's a hovercraft in the room every time I play.

I just found out a day ago there's been a few patches released, including one for the texture bug.

So, yes. Time to immerse myself.

Crashpunk 04-18-2012 09:10 AM

Crash 2 is my favorite in the series. I have to get that emulator set up because the game looks so nice with them shaders.

Oh and your welcome :D

This video seems to use that shader. It’s named in the description as “1. Cartoon shader I BL”.

Yeah, I did that. I still found a quest-breaking bug last month, but for the most part it's fine.

Crashpunk 04-18-2012 09:46 AM

The other two shaders used in that video made my eyes hurt.

For Skyrim?

I believe I'll find myself making dozens of saves before initiating quests, I found some in other games tend to 'break' if you do a particular thing, such as leave an area for a pre-determined amount of time or pick up and hold a quest item before starting said quest, only for the item to do absolutely fuck all.

The latter was Oblivion related. Remember the giant Welkynd stone? I found it before Martin sent me to find it. Yet, despite being in my inventory, nothing happened. Had to restart the whole game over again.

Buggy quests are worst quests.

MeechMunchie 04-18-2012 09:59 AM

See, with the PC that would have all been patched out by fans. The Unofficial [ES game] Patch series always top the mod download charts.

I pickpocketed some guy's diary in Skyrim, it referenced a shifty deal he had with the mob. I thought, "Hey, that's a pretty cool bit of unnecessary flavour text". Turns out it actually turns up in another quest as evidence. You're supposed to confront the guy and get him to confess, but he already confessed when I stole the diary. I went back to him, but he just said something along the lines of "You've ruined my life, now just leave me alone! Get out of my house!"

It's an AA shader. Neither ePSXe nor P.OGL2 supports AA by themselves, the shader does only add it. Sucks that you can use only one shader at the time :/

I don't think it's that one, I've tried it before... or maybe the guy who made screenshot used something else I don't know about

This is why I'm very careful at these types of games. I normally go around my business, tending to avoid touching things that seem important, out of fear it might affect something later in the game that involves bugs.

Nonetheless, I'll keep in mind not to pickpocket anyone. I actually don't do that anyway, I'm a sucker for obeying laws in games under most circumstances.

The thing I'm looking forward to the most is travelling. I did a play through of Oblivion where I didn't fast-travel once. I ran to places, just to soak up the world. With Skyrim, I know it'll be better due to the huge variety of differently themed environs. I know for a fact, sometimes I'll stand rooted to the spot and just look at everything.

As a quicksave addict, I find pickpocket overpowered since I just reload whenever I get caught. ¬_¬

Once you know you can do it you can't not do it.

"I really ought to stop, this completely takes the challenge out of one of the most improved areas over previous Elder Scro - Ooh, shiny necklace!"

Daxter King 04-18-2012 04:39 PM

Started up The Witcher 2, love it so far. Graphics are splendid, the combat is very different from other stuff I've played, and the story is top notch.

Strike Witch 04-20-2012 07:11 AM

I finished Silent Hill 2. Now I get what I was missing out on, that was amazing.

scrabface 04-20-2012 06:47 PM

is anyone still playing Demon's Souls?
I accidentally attacked Stockpile Thomas and he now tries to punch me to death. I think I am fucked.

Dixanadu 04-21-2012 12:41 PM

I've never played Demon Souls, due to it being PS3 exclusive.

Dark Souls though, I have. Damn, that game is both amazing and infuriatingly annoying.

Dynamithix 04-22-2012 05:02 AM

Me and my mum bought a new computer today because the last one broke a few days ago. Anyways, if anyone has any suggestions of modern PC games I should play just say so. As of now, I'm thinking of buying Legend of Grimrock and Dark Souls when it's released for the PC.

And uhh, I'm now replaying Silent Hill 2 and going for the UFO ending and collecting the items for Rebirth ending.

Varrok 04-22-2012 05:23 AM

Playing Diablo III. Not a bad game, not incredibly good either. Animations are nice, models & textures are ugly (like 2006-ugly [beta thing? hope so]), the game is 100% linear so far. No sign of skill tree/manual leveling. I have to play the game for about 2 hours just to unlock any difficulty above normal, which is a very very bad game design choice. Killing monsters is fun but dumb-easy (health potions? never used any so far, just clicked everything to death [level 6]). The final product will probably be a bit better than Torchlight1. But DEFINITELY not worth the full price.

Dynamithix, you can try STALKER: SoC with Complete mod here

Here's some.

OANST 04-22-2012 11:21 AM

I just finished Fez 100%, or 209% as that is the true 100% for this game. All I'm going to say is that you should not judge the game by the demo. The gameplay from the demo does not give you an accurate idea of what the game is really like. Yes, you can get the first ending of the game by doing little more than just switching perspectives, but everything beyond that is fucking insane. I haven't had a game tax me this hard mentally since Braid. It should be a must buy.

Manco 04-22-2012 12:15 PM

So did you solve the Monolith puzzle I keep hearing about?

Dynamithix 04-22-2012 12:42 PM

I downloaded League of Legends and tried out the tutorial. It seems pretty fun and I like the artwork of the champions, the game's artists must be working really hard 'cause there are so many champions in the game. I tried out Ryze first, I like that character.

Mr. Bungle 04-22-2012 07:55 PM

Yeah League of Legends is pretty damn awesome. My cousin is addicted to it so I have to play with him every time we hang out. I don't mind, though, 'cause the games actually a lot of fun and I hardly get a chance to play on my own.

Dynamithix 04-22-2012 09:45 PM

So apparently League of Legends has the worst fucking fanbase based on my first three matches.

sheridanm962 04-22-2012 11:50 PM

Keep getting experienced in jungle (small time kills of minions) to get a feel for it and to level up at first, now you can try to kill a champion if you have a higher level and some good items etc. You'll get used to it and eventually get level 30.... I'm assuming you have a lower level now.... Yeah.

So did you solve the Monolith puzzle I keep hearing about?

Yes.

Edit: I sort of cheated on that one, though. There is still no known way of coming up with the solution to the monolith. People are finding more clues hidden in the soundtrack that just came out, and it's likely that the solution is in there somewhere.

I got it from a bunch of guys who brute forced it. They just tried every possible solution until they found the right one. We know it works. We just don't know why it works.

Mr. Bungle 04-23-2012 06:55 AM

Aside from Capcom fighting games, I've mostly been playing Diablo II for the millionth time out of excitement towards the new one. I can't fucking wait to be able to post about it here.

Also been playing Saints Row the third. I'm not very far in it yet, but it's pretty damn fun so far. Not sure if better than the first one, though.

Why not playing Diablo III while it was in open beta?

Mr. Bungle 04-23-2012 07:17 AM

I didn't realize is was out at the time it was. I imagine it's closed by now?

Varrok 04-23-2012 07:25 AM

Yea, tough luck :/
