Also, I get annoyed by DiCaprio's face. I don't know what it is, but I just want to punch him. In the face of course.

Repressed homosexuality. Duh.

Hello 100 level psych paper

MA 09-16-2010 01:21 PM

i watched Kelly's Heroes the other day. it was a good, light-hearted film.

WHAT?!

Bill Compton is the worst character on the show. And that show has some really bad characters. Some of them are interesting, though. Eric and Godrick are fun to watch.

Guess what movie has made more money than Avatar?

It was fucking incredible.

Neat?

Looks great.

OANST 09-18-2010 08:32 AM

You guys realize that The Last Airbender was far from a commercial failure, right? The movie made a lot of money.

I meant the other Avatar, but I was also wrong.

Bollywood movies in general make more money than Hollywood because of smaller budgets and the Billion or so Indian people who live in India, some of whom enjoy Bollywood.

OANST 09-18-2010 10:22 AM

Ohhhhhh. I'm not sure why I thought you meant the other.

shaman 09-19-2010 07:16 AM

The Grey Zone. A fantastic film, the guy from The Island's performance was great once again, and the last scene was probably the most haunting i've ever watched.

Dynamithix 09-19-2010 07:55 AM

I saw a film called Little Man Tate. It was decent. I mainly watched it because David Hyde Pierce was in it. One of my favourite actors.

Mr. Bungle 09-19-2010 02:25 PM

A Clockwork Orange & Back to the Future Part 3.

They were both really good, especially the former. The latter was good as well, especially for a third in a trilogy, despite the fact that the ending made no sense.

ziggy 09-20-2010 11:00 AM

I haven't seen it yet, but I'm going to see Trainspotting later today I think, since I received a copy. If any of you have seen it can you give me your opinion?

Mr. Bungle 09-20-2010 11:01 AM

I saw it, it's really good. You'll like it.

Emesdee 09-23-2010 02:01 AM

Watched Kick-Ass, and while I enjoyed it more than I thought I would, the music choices during some of the action scenes were really annoying. The climax was stupid too, but stupid enough to be fun.

Wings of Fire 09-23-2010 03:45 AM

It was a thousand times better than the comic.

Strike Witch 09-23-2010 03:51 AM

I flipped through the comic in a bookstore once. It made me physically ill at the end. It just felt like I was reading a comic written on rotten banana skin.

Wings of Fire 09-23-2010 03:53 AM

The comic was being overly cynical to the point of being stupid, it was also trying and failing to deconstruct the concept it was writing on. The only good thing about the comic was Hit Girl.

The movie was just cool and had no pretentions other than that.

OANST 09-23-2010 06:48 AM

I watched Kick-Ass a few weeks ago. I didn't hate it, but I didn't particularly like it, either. As most people said, Hit Girl was fun to watch. Nothing else was, though.

Mac Sirloin 09-23-2010 09:07 AM

Indeed, Chloe Moretz is pretty much one of my new favorite actresses. Looking forward to Let Me In.

OANST 09-23-2010 09:08 AM

I don't know what to say about Let Me In. Let the Right One In is by far the best vampire film ever made, and I just can't imagine them doing as well in the english language remake.

Pretty much every major critic is saying it's better. It also has a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Apparently the director didn't cut any of the really fucked up stuff from it, either.

That's.....bizarre. I'll refrain from making a judgment until I see it, I guess.

Dynamithix 09-24-2010 08:49 AM

I just finished watching Machete. It was amazing. I liked the style of the movie a lot. I also had a hysteric laughing moment at one point where one of the bad guys decided to hire someone called Osiris Ampanpour a.k.a. "CALL 1-800-HITMAN!!"

Dixanadu 09-24-2010 08:59 AM

I watched Legion last night. Enjoyable, shame about the gaping-hole ending.

Mac Sirloin 09-24-2010 09:05 AM

The best part of Legion is that despite being one of the most overbearingly pro-Christian movies I've ever seen, it still didn't even come close to the preachiness of The Book of Eli.

Also way too much dialogue.

Dixanadu 09-24-2010 09:10 AM

Aye, sometimes it felt like a soap opera with possessed people.

What's The Book of Eli like? Legion was saved on my friend's PlayStation, he had a bunch of movies on it, including Book of Eli. Is it watchable?

Daxter King 09-24-2010 10:54 AM

I loved Book of Eli. Im Christian though, I dont know if that has to do with me liking it. The action was great, and its not too preachy I dont think. The screenwriter goes to another forum I frequent, thats cool.

Last movie I saw was Grown Ups I think, it would have been hilarious if I was still in Middle School, its just kinda funny now.

Mac Sirloin 09-24-2010 11:35 AM

Book of Eli is the better film of the two, easily. It was just preachy as hell because the main character is actually (mild spoilers) literally protected by god from getting shot from near point-blank range in one of the early scenes .

Also, the whole movie basically about how powerful and super-amazing The Bible is.

My kind of film.

I suppose that is preachy then, God protecting him. I just thought you meant that it said BE A CHRISTIAN OR ELSE. I dont really see the bible one as being that preachy though, other than the fact that any religious text would have done a similar job. Wouldn't make sense if the villain was after them all though, so they just chose the bible. The bible is also probably the most easily obtainable in the USA, so it makes sense that thats the one he is after.

Mr. Bungle 09-24-2010 08:58 PM

I just saw 28 Days Later, I really dug it. Epic soundtrack.

Hazel-Rah 09-25-2010 11:53 PM

28 Days Later is so overrated though.

I just saw Lawnmower Man for the first time, I loved the N64 quality CG <3

Phylum 09-26-2010 12:00 AM

Anchorman. I laughed quite a bit in that movie. It didn't try to have a stable plot or sensible ending and pulled it off well. The fight scene was just surreal.

I also saw Sita Sings the Blues recently. It was amazing! I loved how they poked fun at the various tellings of the story being different and the plot flaws (dropping jewlery, despite leaving for the forest with nothing). It's free, too. You're mad to not see this movie, if you haven't already.

used:) 09-26-2010 04:20 AM

Regrettingly, I actually liked the movie, though, as Mac Sirloin pointed out, it was super preachy. I want there to be a another, more ambiguous point to the film, but it's it's just too blatantly jesusy.

Referring to The Book of Eli.

Daxter King 09-26-2010 05:37 AM

Dinner For Schmucks.

Funny, but few laugh out loud moments. It was sort of hard to watch at points because of the sheer awkwardness of some situations, though I think thats the point.

Slag? 09-26-2010 10:06 AM

Repo men.

Scary shit. But reminds of a scene from Monty Python.

Repo men.

Might wanna check out Repo! The Genetic Opera if you haven't seen it yet. Repo Men is pretty much based on it, just leave the opera out.

Don't be put off by the opera part, it fits very well with the movie and the songs are pretty catchy. Check the trailer here.

Slag? 09-26-2010 02:35 PM

I hate operas nonetheless.
I refuse to click the link. :D
