I think you've created one of the best Oddworld fanart pieces that's ever been created. I really do hope OWI and JAW take note of what you've done - They should be proud of you. Thanks for sharing the WIPs with us too, it's nice to see it come this far.

Good, awesome work, dude. You deserve a lot of kudos for your dedication.

Havoc 10-28-2012 02:22 PM

Awesome job dude! Absolutely amazing. Be very proud of what you made here, you deserve all of it. I'll be sharing this everywhere I possibly can. Keep up the amazing work, dude!

Steamer_KING 10-28-2012 03:40 PM

The detail is amazing! Really well done.

Hulaabeo 10-28-2012 05:13 PM

I literally foamed at the mouth for no reason after seeing this.

LauricGK 10-29-2012 10:39 AM

Thank you all !
It's a pleasure to see all of you here after an entire year...

There couldn't be no better end.

Havoc 10-29-2012 11:01 AM

Your creation made it onto the Oddworld website. Congrats!

I somehow missed this, but I am so glad I saw it. I have seen good stuff in the fan corner, but this tops almost everything I can think of. LauricGK, I salute your ability to make beautiful art. The level of detail is astounding, and the video showing almost every individual step really helps make you realize just how much work you put into every bit of it. If I had been doing that, I would definitely have cut corners but you seem to have spared no expense. I can think of very little criticism for this at all, and the little things I can comment on are so insignificant when I look at the thing as a whole. This is probably the single best fan-creation I have seen in my time here (not that long, but still). Well done LauricGK, well done. I hope you get a job doing this kind of thing.

WolfensteinOdess 10-30-2012 06:05 AM

Ouais un Français :) Beau boulot :D

Good work :)

LauricGK 10-30-2012 08:16 AM

Yeah Havoc I saw that !
But the best rewards are still your feedback.

Thank you Oddey for what you just said ; Be sure I'll keep what you said in mind.
I think I'm gonna integrate some FX school next september. We'll see. I know that I'll never be hired in any place without any professional formation. By now I'm still working in a supermarket and I keep laughing when I think about all of this, and when I see how many people on the web think that I'm some kind of a professional game designer :-)

Haha, merci WolfensteinOdess :-)

Versus 10-30-2012 09:23 AM

Wow!!! Absolutely amazing!!! Great video and final scene! Only one person makes this art! You are the greatest!!!
PS. My personal opinion is that color correction isn't nessesary.

LauricGK 10-31-2012 05:29 AM

Thank you Versus. I prefer this version with the color correction ; without it, I thought it was too..."bland"

By the way, I sent a PM to Wil ; I wanted him (or any other admin) to add in the thread title "[Finished]" or something like this, but he didn't reply. Doesn't look like JAW gives a damn about all of this ^^ Any other solution to change it ?

The edit button has gone. It would be nice for others people to show that the thread is now done :-)

Havoc 10-31-2012 12:42 PM

I'm sure a mod will change it for you shortly. :)

Phylum 11-01-2012 01:05 AM

If you want something to get done you're probably better sending a PM to Nate.

Sorry Wil :(

Haruka 11-02-2012 04:33 AM

I saw this in the official website of Oddworld. Very impressive, congratulations. :)

LauricGK 11-03-2012 03:43 AM

Thanks Phylum, Nate has done it, indeed ;-)

Haruka, thank you for your support :-)

You can follow future incoming works on my FB page. See ya' !

marlz 11-03-2012 04:01 AM

What can be said that hasn't already...
Absolutely wonderful work. I'd been following its progress moreso on dA, but that doesn't mean I've been any less enthusiastic or eager to see the end result. Time and effort was not even slightly wasted and every detail was crafted perfectly. In short, incredible and sheer marvelous art, great job. :)

Haruka 11-03-2012 07:06 AM

@LauricGK I haven't FB but I can follow you in dA if that's fine for you.

LauricGK 11-04-2012 06:43 AM

Well marlz, your message is very pleasant, thank you !
Haruka don't worry, you can do what you want to ! ;-)

LauricGK 11-21-2012 06:33 AM

Hello guys,

Maybe you know that I'm working since few weeks ago on a new artwork, based on a Tim Burton's movie. And I used to say on my FB page : "Oddworld fans should get prepared for a small surprise ;-)"

OK, maybe it will be two ;-) I'll open a new thread here about the first thing, and next about another one.
I actually do not have so much ideas about what I'll we do this time with Oddworld, but be sure the ideas I have about it today will be stronger while finishing my new artwork "Tim Burton".

I wasn't planning to publish any other WIP about Oddworld here (I was just going to create things I wanted to show without the "step by step" show). But be sure that your enthusiasm really touched me, so I'll do it again. I've also seen your "sadness" about the lack of people participating to your fan contest ; And even if I don't have the time to publish these artworks so soon (Speaking of Splat's contest), I saw how much people visited this thread (And so your community) and I believe it would be good to see some more activity on this fan art section. I just want to make people from the web more connected with Oddworld !
I care for you people, and I just want to show more.

So, see you soon. Really soon.

dripik 12-01-2012 12:44 AM

Well, that video definitely was something. Quite stunning, really. It's great to see when a project of this size is pulled off, the result being something really amazing.

I'll be looking forward to your future projects, don't hesitate to share them or any related bits of news, because apparently, a lot of people here are interested here in your work. Keep it up!
