This is my favourite band, Converge. I'm seeing them tomorrow. Don't be surprised if I never post again; I'll have died happily in the mosh pit. Seriously though, this band kicks major ass. |

I fucking love this. It's like if Pink Floyd had a baby with some hardcore punk act. Fucking awesome. man, that melotron (if that's what it is). |
Okay so, I just listened to Das Racist for the first time because I was wondering what the fuzz was about it (not just you Bungle & OANST, a lot of other people I know like them) and hooooooly shit. Shut Up, Man has some really awesome lyrics and I'm not really one for rap music but this is great. Fucking awesome. Sorry, a bit off topic.
|
How is that off topic?
And yeah, Das Racist is great. |
Hmm.
Well, they're back to their old sound, which some people will be happy about, but like some bits of Fleet Foxes' Helplessness Blues, they seem to be accidentally lapsing into self-parody. |
some of you might remember this from the Kronenberg advert. i fucking love it. better than the original in my opinion.

Okay, I realise Keane aren't exactly to everyone's taste, but I wanted to try a little experiment, and Under the Iron Sea is a very distinctive-sounding album.
Basically, I condensed the entire thing to ten minutes. If a song previously made up 20% of the album, the segment taken from it makes up 20% of the new track, and if the song started 40% of the way into the album, the segment is 40% of the way into the song it's taken from. So you have the start of the first song, the middle of the middle song, the end of the last song etc. Look, I made a spreadsheet. It's got conditional formatting and everything. http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/5818/utis.png Just give it a listen. The point of this exercise was that if I could make this a YouTube thing, it would help people spread music around. If you wanted to recommend an album to somebody, you could show them the Condensed Version, and they'd get a feel for what the entire thing is like. They only take twenty minutes to make*, so if you like the idea and this is something you'd like to see more of, let me know. If you've got a request, also let me know. On an entirely unrelated note, Damon Albarn said in a Guardian interview that there probably won't be any more Gorillaz music. Gorillaz was an experiment, and Mr. Albarn and Mr. Hewlett both feel it's run its course. *Now that I've got the spreadsheet working, which itself took fucking ages. |
love

hu doltran 3030 is nice, his voice, he is with gorillaz right?
dorian concept |
Country fucking Teasers
I love this. Hard. :
|
I could never really get properly into the Gorillaz. I've always liked a handful of songs, but their full album just felt kinda flat for me.
But this song will always be one of my favourites: |
Feel Good Inc is probably their best song to be honest. I think that I like Deltron now more than Gorillaz to be honest, he has some great songs.
A good Gorillaz song. |
do not know if my post caused this conversation or not
I feel like the only man who likes most of Gorillaz's (Not The Gorillaz [/fanrage]) stuff. Everyone seems to either think that Damon Albarn is Jesus or just likes a couple of their songs. I like most of their stuff. A couple of songs, not so much, mainly the rap-based ones. hei guys maybe I should do a condensed version lol |
I love this style of music. I love it. I want all of it.
80's is the best of the best. |

I didn't know Neil Gaiman could sing... Oh wait, he can't. But he still has a nice voice.

Oh, go meh yourself. Animal Collective is great, I mean how can you not love this:
But this is far superior |
Yet more Killing Joke. This one though is just amazing. And this one, New single. |
I think she made me jizz after this, I just dropped it.

I can't quite figure out what it is about this song, but there's something amazing here. The vocal harmonies are so complex and continue to blow me away every time I hear them. The chorus has a bizarre, eerie baroque feel. Even the verse feels strange and creepy. In case it isn't obvious, this was the phase when Brian Wilson was using drugs. Also, the words. Van Dyke Parks is brilliant and completely mad. Who else could write a line like this: :

I'm doing Circuital next. Then I might take a break. |
I bought the SMiLE Sessions today. What's there is better than I expected for an unfinished, scrapped album.
This stands out as one of the stronger songs and I urge everyone to listen to it. It's truly beautiful. |
I now hate Deadmau5, I only have one of his songs which I like to some extent that I only listen to it on a rare occasion. I am sorry if I offended anyone in saying that.
