I realise now, that while fixing the elevator glitch is great, fixing the mines doenst affect us at all (us = speedrunners).
Our method of rescuing the mudokons is faster than blowing up the second mine, and since u carry bombs through the rooms wed have to alter our strategies to compensate for where we restock.

I passed this on to the few friends I have outside of the forums who have expressed an interest in Oddworld in the past. The good thing is now I know that one of them is still shitty with me and blatantly ignoring me as a result.

Most of the negative posts come from one guy who seems to be really upset about Munch's Oddysee HD not being on PC for some reason. Meh, it'll probably be more positive when the game is finally out or so.

Steam forums are often a cesspool. Much like IMDb. I mean you should take a look at the L4D2 forums... nasty stuff.

It seems like the biggest grievances are to do with price.

Those with a problem with Munch PC have some reasonable gripes, though.

The Steam forums are one of the worst places to visit on the internet. it's up there with the YouTube comments section. Some people are just out to just to stir shit with rumors. And yet again, Jumping onto the hate bandwagon after watching Matthewmatosis's review and not even attempting to form there own opinion.

Don't get me wrong, some folk are genuine and have a few questions or doubts. And I'm so glad the 'Oddworld Admin' has been set up to deal with them. I can imagine how stressful it can be dealing with certain people. :/

And as for Munch PC, yeah that's understandable. Even I wanted to play that on Steam many months ago. Hopefully after NnT is released on Steam. OWI can give a status update about MOHD. A lot of people are expecting it.

Ever heard of the Streisand effect? Banning them would only result in making them louder and it would bring fam more attention to the topic.

It's a small team, it's a trying financial time for everyone, i don't expect too much too fast from them. For all we know, after the exoddus remake, they may be planning to make a full remake of munch, with a new engine, new graphics and all the story that was cut from the original. If that's the case, i'm more interested in that.

But I do wish they will hire more people for the next game so that they can go faster

I guess this would be a good time to make my first post, considering that when I went to the steam store and saw New N tasty advertised right in front of me I skipped around and screamed for a solid 5 minutes, and then proceeded to pre-order it immediately.

Anyhow, the steam user forums are an evil evil place, don't ever visit them.

STM's clearly grumpy today, but what he's getting at is that it's all you ever seem to post about. You know the other two people who share your passion for speedrunning this game. I'm sure you can communicate with them privately.

That's not to say there's anything wrong with having a thread here, and I don't want to discourage discussing it. You just talk about it lots.
