Damn. Too slow.

I also have a spare code, you can have it if you want it.

Mr. Bungle 12-12-2012 07:17 AM

Yeah, please. That'd be great.

Steamer_KING 12-12-2012 03:31 PM

See? It all turned out okay.

I can't see the page for Metro 2033. Whenever someone tries to link me to it I get redirected to my newsfeed. Is anyone else finding this?

Varrok 12-14-2012 02:19 AM

I see the page, so it's not broken

Mr. Bungle 12-14-2012 02:47 AM

Loving all this free crap. Ahh, the internet.

And I'm not even breaking any laws!

If you aren't 18+, it won't let you to the page. I'm very sad that the official Dark Souls FB page does that too, I can't read any status updates from them anymore...

Mr. Bungle 12-14-2012 06:46 AM

That is so stupid. Don't these companies realize that a large margin of their profits come from people who are under 18? ESRB Ratings don't mean shit these days, in fact most of the time an M warrants a purchase with most youth.

Varrok 12-14-2012 06:57 AM

You're saying it like liking their profile by underage people will get them (THQ) any real profits

Wings of Fire 12-14-2012 07:07 AM

Would it be possible for anyone over 18 (IE: Me) to like the page and then give the code to someone who isn't (IE: Phylum)?

I don't think THQ is going to get any profits from anything anymore. But I was more referring to the whole ESRB ratings system in general, kind of got carried away.

Considering the number of times I’ve seen negative press about video games using the “corrupting out youth!” argument about games that are mature rated, I’d say the industry needs to do everything it can to make sure age restrictions are followed.

Mr. Bungle 12-14-2012 09:19 AM

True enough, but while age restrictions might still be enforced I honestly don't think many people follow them at all anymore. Like I said, in most cases kids are attracted to the violence and overall edginess of M-rated games, hence all the controversy. They want what they aren't allowed to have, and you can't really do much to change that, other than by removing the ratings system.

However, if you do that, you're pretty much throwing games like Mario or Spyro into the same pot as more mature or violent games like Dead Space or Gears of War. It's a complicated situation.

Manco 12-14-2012 09:38 AM

I don’t think it’s all that complicated really. Just because kids want these games doesn’t mean they should get them.

The rating system is there to ensure that mature content—which younger kids really shouldn’t be able to get—is seen only by an appropriate audience. The problem is that people don’t give a shit, and either sell to underaged kids or buy inappropriate content for them.

The solution is to educate people on why age restrictions exist. I don’t agree that kids should be able to buy whatever they want.

MeechMunchie 12-17-2012 01:09 PM

I've got the Opposing Front expansion for Company of Heroes.

Varrok 12-19-2012 08:57 AM

Check out the http://www.gog.com/ sale, there are some cool discounted games here... like Bullfrog studios games, Might&Magic games and some less known, as this Tiny & Big game, which one of you recommended

MeechMunchie 12-19-2012 09:14 AM

Hey, Arcanum is half price too!

If you have any interest in steampunk, Arcanum is the standard.

Manco 12-19-2012 11:05 AM

New Humble Bundle: https://www.humblebundle.com/
  • Dungeon Defenders + DLC (beat the average)
  • Legend of Grimrock (beat the average)
  • Snapshot
  • The Binding of Isaac + Wrath of the Lamb DLC
  • Closure
  • Indie Game: The Movie
  • Shank 2

Also I bought this and now have a spare Binding of Isaac key if anyone wants it.

vv You may indeed.

Mr. Bungle 12-19-2012 01:53 PM

May I?

I feel like such a vulture, always swooping in on the remains of other people's bundles.

Dynamithix 12-20-2012 09:16 AM

Steam Christmas sales started!

Manco 12-20-2012 11:22 AM

I’ve already spent too much.

AlexFili 12-20-2012 12:16 PM

Batman Arkham City for £4.99, dare I take the plunge? (I hear it's rather good)

Edit: Hmmm, could hold off and wait for the Wii U version. Would be nice to not have a gigantic day-one patch and extra features.
Hmmm, Asylum for £2.49 is tempting, since I've not played it and if I ended up liking it, I could get the other one at a later date... I think I'll do that.

Varrok 12-20-2012 12:19 PM

Just finished Arkham City. It has a lot more enhanced mechanics of Arkham Asylum, but the story is actually a bit worse. And some of the dialogues and scenes are pretty forgettable

Vyrien 12-20-2012 12:43 PM

I'd say go for it, like Varrok said the story is a little worse than Asylum but it's still an excellent title, plus you get two characters to play with. I bought it full price at £30 a month or two after launch and didn't regret it.

AlexFili 12-24-2012 11:46 AM

Yay. Batman Arkham Asylum in my Steam Library now. Also bought Mass Effect 1 since I owned 2 and 3 but not 1. Gonna check out Hitman Contracts, since I think I might like that game.

Phylum 12-25-2012 04:34 AM

Everyone should buy this game while it's really cheap.

I haven't had a chance to buy it myself, but that will hopefully happen in the next day or two. The demo is great and it's received lots of positive feedback. This is really a plug because I'm a part of the Reflect Games community and this game uses the Reflect account management system.

I'm not going to plug anything in to my Playstation without knowing what it is first.

Vyrien 12-27-2012 02:42 PM

I have a spare Binding of Isaac + Wrath of the Lamb DLC code if any of you haven't got it yet.

PM sent.

Phylum 12-27-2012 02:57 PM

Can you give them separately? I have BoI, but I would love WotL.

I bought FTL yesterday, so naturally it's on sale today. That said, it's fantastic and so far and people should really spend the $5 and buy it.

Vyrien 12-27-2012 03:05 PM

Sadly no, it all comes under one code. I've no problem giving it to you if you want it though.

Wings of Fire 12-27-2012 03:22 PM

I'll take.

But only if Phylum doesn't want.

Manco 12-27-2012 03:27 PM

Oh, be assertive.

Varrok 12-27-2012 03:31 PM

No.

Phylum 12-27-2012 03:42 PM

WoF, take it. I'll buy it on sale some time later. I have enough to play for now.

Crashpunk 12-28-2012 05:13 AM

Just got Saints Row: The Third with every piece of DLC for under £7. :D

Now all I need is a PC that can play them...

Varrok 12-28-2012 05:54 AM

It's gonna be a bit harder to find a good discount for that
