I know your pain, I relied on a friend to help me get past some parts.

I don't think I would have patience to beat the game without runner vision but I am working on the achievement for beating the game without firing a bullet.

. I remember shouting sexist comments at the woman when I got it on Christmas day.

That is AMAZING. Kudos.

Mac do you have Gold Live? My friend let me borrow Dead Rising 2, but I haven't touched, I probably would for some co-op action.

Back to Silver at the moment. I definitely owe you and DI some XBL time, though. Should snag another gold card within the month.

Crashpunk 08-03-2011 06:41 AM

Mirrors Edge is a fun game. Its also a very hard game that makes me cry with rage,
A bit like what Super Meat Boy, BIT.TRIP Runner and VVVVVV does to me.

Jordan 08-03-2011 07:29 AM

I finished Alice. That's one of the trippiest games I've ever played. But bloody wonderful.

On Steam, there's usually a discount.

But not this time.

Man, I'm on the edge which to pre-order; Deus Ex: Human Revolution Augmented Edition or Dark Souls Limited Edition. Both look really nice, but I can only afford one of them.

Deus Ex:

http://files.allagegaming.com/200003...20Contents.JPG

Deus Ex represents a worrying trend of preorder bonuses that ought to be in the game anyway.

After I played don't take it personally, babe and read Neuromancer, the next logical step was to play Digital: A Love Story.

The plot was nice, the soundtrack was good, and it did interesting things with the format. Plus the character of a guy sitting at his computer getting bored was automatically the most immersive player role I'd ever experienced.

So yeah. Near-classic, I guess. WoF might like it, I dunno. Pilot wouldn't. Its representation of the '80s isn't pedantic enough.

Dynamithix 08-03-2011 05:48 PM

So, I tried out VVVVVV. Time played: 10min, Deaths: 67.

Yeah.

jumper 08-03-2011 11:46 PM

Does that imply you're giving up? Also, prepare to die a lot more, but it never gets frustrating.

MeechCrunchies 08-03-2011 11:46 PM

i finished the two level demo of it.

i believe I had a total of about 100 deaths O_O

Phylum 08-04-2011 12:06 AM

I just beat the Veni Vidi Vici run in VVVVVV. I feel awesome.

Dynamithix 08-04-2011 02:34 AM

Definitely not going to give up on VVVVVV. It's a really good game in my opinion, just kind of hard.

Phylum 08-04-2011 03:30 AM

It's not particularly hard. The only really tough tokens are Veni Vidi Vici, Prize for the Reckless (there should be spikes here) and Edge Games. Those can take a few grindy hours each.

Oh, yeah. The speedruns are fairly absurd.

Nate 08-04-2011 11:17 AM

I was responding to an 'in-general' question, though.

Dynamithix 08-04-2011 01:03 PM

FFFFFUUUUUUU-

I've been playing VVVVVV (Gosh, I hate spelling that.) for a good 30 minutes trying to get that one stupid token thing. It's the Veni Vidi Vici part. Oh god, it's so hard.

Mr. Bungle 08-04-2011 03:33 PM

Harder than Super Meat Boy? 'Cause that was hard.

Dynamithix 08-04-2011 03:56 PM

Probably not. I've seen some of the Cotton Factory levels of SMB. Damn.

Mr. Bungle 08-04-2011 04:54 PM

Yeah, that's the only world I can't finish. Too damn hard.

Try for 20 minutes each day for a week and you should get it. Also make sure you're relaxed and that you don't freak out about getting it until you've hit it. I died on the last screen a few times.

Crashpunk 08-05-2011 03:20 AM

I've been thinking about buying the Quakecon2011 pack
It contains all the Doom, Quake and Fallout games plus a lot more.
http://store.steampowered.com/sale/quakecon_doom
For the whole pack, its good value.

MeechCrunchies 08-05-2011 03:22 PM

I've just started playing Super Meat Boy.

:compmad:

JennyGenesis 08-05-2011 04:28 PM

Thats how I feel about Limbo and Trials HD.

On Trials I just cannot beat "Inferno II" I keep running out of time and it's really anoying because it is the only race I have left to finish in the game.

MeechCrunchies 08-05-2011 05:13 PM

I just downloaded Limbo about an hour ago.
I got to the part with the water crate, and about 10 minutes later I figured it out. This isn't gonna be fun, is it?
:(

Daxter King 08-05-2011 06:33 PM

10 minutes, damn? I personally didn't like Limbo, too much hipster shit and not enough game.

MeechCrunchies 08-06-2011 12:57 AM

it's frustrating as hell although completely satisfying when you finish a puzzle :3

Dynamithix 08-06-2011 04:14 AM

I'm playing VVVVVV a lot now and I've now saved 3 guys. Well, almost, I have to escort the Blue guy. It's really good.

Dixanadu 08-06-2011 06:35 AM

Just completed Dragon Age II.

I found it quite good story wise and how I pretty much fucked up the known world.

One thing I didn't like was the recycled environments, I assumed BioWare had gotten over that considering that was Mass Effect's problem, but... I guess it was fine.

The High Dragon fight was pretty hard, but also enjoyable. Being a mage is a massive improvement from the first.

JennyGenesis 08-06-2011 08:10 AM

I know I'm goona get flammed for this one, but after finally playing Splosion Man I have to say I don't like it. I find the gameplay gets boring quickly and the character is extremly anoying!

How in the shit can a game have too much "hipster shit"? What does that even mean?

Were there too many coffee shops and Macs in Limbo? I only played the demo, maybe I missed something.

JennyGenesis 08-06-2011 02:51 PM

Limbo did have some very frustrating moments, but I found it to be an amazing game.

Nate 08-06-2011 04:11 PM

I briefly played this Simpsons arcade game this afternoon. Total early '90s nostalgia moment for me.

JennyGenesis 08-06-2011 04:37 PM

I love that game?

It never actually got ported though did it?

Shame :(

Yeah, they were pretty rushed by EA who wanted to capitalize on a good thing, but they still delivered a really vibrant world and story.

But god fuck I want to know what's going on with lyrium idols and old gods and shit man

EA

That's bad stuff right there.

Anybody else get the feeling that Need For Speed has turned into Guitar hero? Pumping out a new game every 2 minutes?

Goodness me I remember when I picked up Hot Pursuit 2010 on release day, before you could play the game you had to watch the trailer for Shift 2.

So I bought the latest game at the time on release day just to be forced to watch the trailer for the next game in series...

Mac Sirloin 08-06-2011 09:18 PM

I decided to just dick around in Dead Risiing 2 until I'm MAXIMUM CHUCK. This means losing my innocence and zombifying my daughter. Just like real life.

Dynamithix 08-07-2011 02:24 PM

I'm playing Saints Row 2. Just beat the Brotherhood leader, Maero. Goddamn this game is good. I bought it a year ago, but I didn't really get into it, now I'm loving it. Also, I'll possibly pre-order Saints Row: The Third too.

JennyGenesis 08-07-2011 02:30 PM

I love Saints Row 2, but the online sucks apart from co-op.

Dynamithix 08-07-2011 02:42 PM

There's multiplayer? Didn't even know. Well, didn't even care.

JennyGenesis 08-07-2011 04:00 PM

Competitive is accessed from the main menu and co-op is accessed from the pause menu when playing the game.

Mr. Bungle 08-07-2011 08:04 PM

I'm playing Final Fantasy VII after not playing it for 1.5 years due to me having no clue what to do. I'm starting to make some progress now, having just recruited Vincent and encountering Yuffie (only to have her run away-twice), and am looking for the keystone. Really good game, but I didn't have that one fucking part spoiled for me (and everyone else who visits the internet). You know what I'm talking about.

I should probably stop starting games and not finishing them, but to be fair, I did start this one a long while ago.

JennyGenesis 08-08-2011 03:57 AM

Completed Motorstorm Arctic Egde today, it was one hell of a frustrating game at times but I loved it!

I just find it silly that you unlock most of the drivers and vehicle paints when you complete the game.

Dynamithix 08-08-2011 07:36 AM

Oh, btw, an add to the SR2 post I made earlier - The multiplayer fucking sucks. I tried to play it, but everyone rushes to you and uses the shotgun, everyone in the match used that one shotgun. Definitely wasn't fun in anyway.
