Ran each letter through an anagram decoder and it returns the word Alphanumerically. Obviously a word, but what is its purpose?

EDIT: Perhaps we're to use the digits in the name of each photo i.e 3786 and correspond them with their alphanumeric value? i.e A=1 B=2 C=3 or something?

Not quite sure what the canister would be used for but do you think the set of numbers on his chest are sort of like an Identification Number? like that's his assigned number; most of the mudokens don't have names and if they do, they aren't revealed to us, except a few like Abe, Alf, Big Face, Ed, etc.

Also, if this is Ed,maybe he refers to himself by name often because he doesn't want to forget who "Ed" is, he doesn't want to be reduced to another set of letters and numbers. just something to think about I suppose.
