I finally managed to get a picture of my Netbook's desktop onto my computer and onto here! For your interest, it's running Windows 98 Second Edition.

And I really do like that netbook, I get nostalgic seeing Windows 98 :)

It shall soon have more than 1GB, I found a hard drive replacement that allows you to connect to compact flash drive to it. So the max could be 256GB if you bought two 128GB cards. I'm just going to stick with 16GB, it's enough for it.

It does, however, since the computer is so small and old, you have to run it on the lowest settings. So Fastest Abe's Exoddus works fine.

The background shade is eye searing, so I'm sure I'll get a headache/bored of it pretty soon, but my God it's bright and cheerful.

My desktops have been so dark and dreary lately, I needed to let some smiles into them.

Also the colours (of the icons mostly) are a bit washed out because it would be over the 500kb limit if it was original quality and I couldn't be bothered using 2 clicks to upload to imgur.

As a side note, this is what I wish my desktop looked like.

MSoft would never make that into any Windows version. It looks nice and is practical!

Yeah and it's been that way since '07. I really need a new computer.

I only used Vista for about 9 months since I had used my old, old desktop computer (also running Windows 98) until early 2008. We only really swapped because dial-up was so slow we were upgrading to cable broadband, and the computer being as old as it was meant it couldn't have anything like that. The main reason we had it for so long is because my dad upgraded it so much, it somehow manages to run Sims 2 on it without any lag and that's not bad for a computer from 98. It wasn't really fun to do school work on a computer that took 15 minutes to load Google and had a bugged version of Word 97 were pictures would fly around the screen because the margins were screwed up.

Because it wasn't strongly backwards-compatible with previous versions of Windows and the way that drivers worked was completely different, so until third-party hardware and software manufacturers updated their products it was a buggy pile of crap. After they had updated their products, it had earned such a terrible reputation that Microsoft had to drop functionality from Win7 and bring the release date forward, just to convince people to upgrade.

Vista is a pile of crap, I have Vista Home Premium and it is just the worst OS i've ever had. Strangly I had more problems with XP then Vista but that might of just of been my PC at the time. I really want to upgrade to Windows 7 but it's so expensive I don't think it is worth it.

I'm having trouble reconciling this.

This desktop is from the third laptop (second one with 98SE so far...). I do intend to use this one more often now since it runs really well with 1GB RAM and 1.5 GHz Processor. XP doesn't run too well for some reason and I don't hae either ME or 2000. At the moment I was doing some school-work on it since my main laptop run out of the trial because I need Microsoft Access.

Hopefully the other laptop I ordered will arrive tommorow, I am somewhat of a retro-computer collector. :p

I love the Windows 98 logo. One of the most iconic logos ever.

The great thing is the Wireless Internet device I have works in this computer so now it has high-speed internet. It can even watch YouTube and go on Facebook. It's totally useable.:D

Just looking at that desktop just makes me think of my very first PC. ahhh...

Been watching a lot of Breaking Bad lately, as usual.
