Why haven't there been any updates to TOGG in like forever?

Nate 05-15-2006 10:26 PM

Did you consider that there have not been any new images released in like forever?

Xavier 05-15-2006 11:57 PM

NDW is right, there have been no new material on the net, so no more updates for togg

I ripped some pictures from flash application, I could upload them under a "stupid stuff" category but I'm not sure you would be intrested,

I have some from the munchonthis.com and test a fuzzle

oddveteran93 05-16-2006 12:42 AM

hee hee uda question...in the game MO,
it is said the spooce is used medical purposes. What are these medical purposes? what makes spooce so special that makes it grow-able on metal. No need for soil or water? Plus how do vykkers regrow them? surely not chant?

Wil 05-20-2006 02:38 PM

There's nothing to suggest Vykkers do regrow them, but since after harvesting the SpooceBud is left behind anyway, they probably just grow back naturally.

Apart from the bud, SpooceShrubs seem to be like lichens in that they can grow on rocks and wood without a need for any substantial soil substrate. If they were akin to lichens, they'd still need that rock or wood to get their nutrients. They must have the ability to extracellularly digest metal.

Nate 05-21-2006 05:31 AM

Or they could be like those plants that live up in the branches of trees in the rain forest without any soil. Orchids and bromeliads are like that. There's a name for it but I forget what it is.

Bullet Magnet 05-21-2006 07:32 AM

They may be plants, but they remind me of puffball fungi.

Slaveless 05-26-2006 04:32 PM

Here's a question. Why is that if Snozzers are suppose to be security at times, why are most of them deactivated when you them? Also, why couldn't factories that are very wealthy, like SoulStorm Brewery, have Snozzers as well?

oddveteran93 05-27-2006 12:12 AM

I was reading through the Dear Alf letters on the OW website and I saw this:
:

The bonus game for Munch will be Munch's Exoddus.

This confuses me. Explain please.

Nate 05-27-2006 12:43 AM

IF there were to be a bonus game for Munch, THEN it would be called Munch's Exoddus and not Hand of Odd as the ignorant questioner asked.

But that Dear Alf was from March 2001, before MO came out and when OWI still thought Sam, the searex and other stuff was going to be in the game. Thus before they put the quintology on hold.

Ninjaxe 05-27-2006 03:53 AM

If they are going to make munch's exodus. It has to be better than oddysee. As I say from time to time. It is not up to standard that I expected it to be!!!

Xavier 05-27-2006 05:09 AM

Honestly, I don't think they will do it.

Wil 05-27-2006 07:27 AM

They did start ideas for Munch's Exoddus. Paul O'Connor hinted that it would expand on the dysfunctional relationship between Mudokons and Gabbits and provide deeper insight into Sligs. OWI have suggested that Munch's Exoddus would try to implement the plot and gameplay that was excluded from Munch's Oddysee, i.e. Sam, Maggie. We've also seen a few images from Oddworld Studios immediately after the release of Munch's Oddysee, and they included an FMV of a submarine.

Ninjaxe 05-27-2006 08:17 AM

^o) I dont recall any of that. I only knew what maggie and sam look like from the art book. So this MO FMV of a submarine. Is this new? It is it accessible?

Wil 05-27-2006 08:26 AM

It was broadcast on Belgian TV. Xav used to have it on VHS. It's not available online. He's probably got a couple of screenshots stashed away somewhere, though.

Nate 05-27-2006 11:48 PM

I think the main theory was that ME would have been about Munch travelling with the gabbiar can up the Mongo River to Ma'Spa in order to reproduce.

Xavier 05-28-2006 12:36 AM

I should realy find out how to put vhs on computer...
so everyone here will see it :)

The Marching Mudokon 05-28-2006 05:05 AM

I would like that. Can you describe the submarine? Any hints as to what it looks like?

Nate 05-28-2006 05:58 AM

I bought a PCMCIA tuner card for my laptop on ebay for about $30. You could try that, if you really want to.

Bullet Magnet 05-28-2006 09:01 AM

I think you mean Snoozers. They are those three-leeged robots armed with valium syringes. They were designed for Munches Oddysee, and did not exist before then. They were going to be a major enemy, but that role was cut, like so many other things before it, so now they are dormant til Munch jacks into one. An in-story explaination for their AE and AO absence could be that:

1) they couldn't afford them.
2)they were not yet invented
3) the Vykkers were not yet selling them
4) Abe was just lucky enough not to meet any in his earlier adventures.

Wil 05-28-2006 11:12 AM

What really gets me is why the Magog Cartel would even bother using a security device that wasn't lethal. They've never shown much consideration for worker security before. The only explanation I can think of is that they don't want to kill their own slaves, because it would be pretty unproductive, but that destroys the image of Mudokons being viewed as cheap, commodity labour that are easily replaced.

Munch's Master 05-28-2006 12:34 PM

Maybe it was intended for use on unruly employees? Or for lab specimens so that they aren't killed and can be used for future tests and experiments. That'd also explain why Snoozers have only been in Vykkers' Labs and not other factories.

Wil 05-29-2006 08:04 AM

One of the two Snoozers in Munch's Oddysee is in a Magog Cartel Sloghut, and there was one to be found in Splinterz, I think, but 'twas removed.

Xavier 05-29-2006 10:49 AM

maybe it was meant for the slogs ;)
cause they definatly needed to be tamed, so they could make them sleep and bring them away to other places

Nate 05-30-2006 07:11 AM

How did the sligs/interns control the snoozers? Because Munch needs a headport to gain control and Abe is unable to do it at all.

Or were snoozers meant to be able to work under their own AI?
