It's an OCZ.

I think I meant ridiculously annoying. I know that they can spontaneously die, especially in the first few months, but that doesn't make it any less frustrating.

In other news my system fan is no longer recognised in the BIOS, so it might have just overheated and freaked out. I don't think this has anything to do with it, but it's still worth investigating.

It's an OCZ.

Unless they've fixed things in the last few months*, they have the worst reputation for reliability. Also terrible reputation for customer service after they die.

Ultimately, with SSDs you get what you pay for.

* I was paying attention to these things earlier in the year before I assembled my new computer. Not sure what's going on now.

dripik 11-06-2012 01:57 AM

Not really a sale: Battlefield 1942 just became free to download as part of it's 10th anniversary.

MeechMunchie 11-12-2012 08:59 AM

I've sent off both of the DOTA 2 invites due to lack of interest. Wil hasn't accepted his yet, so anyone desperate can still butt in before he does.

WoF pounced on his like a starving animal, the selfish git. Sorry on his behalf, guys.

Nate 11-17-2012 08:36 PM

Thanks to the Humble Bundle 4, I now have Steam keys for games that I already have, or that I'll never play. First come, first serve.

Avadon: The Black Fortress
Machinarium
Eufloria

dripik 11-17-2012 10:51 PM

I'd be interested in Machinarium. I feel the need to catch up with the times.

Vyrien 11-18-2012 03:01 AM

Avadon looks like a total blast to the past, I'd be interested in that.

MeechMunchie 11-18-2012 04:08 AM

I'd like to give Eufloria a go.

Also, Wil doesn't seem to want his DOTA 2.

The only game I've really played from that list is BIT.TRIP BEAT. I like it. The music is awesome and it's pretty additive

I've got Spacechem but I have no idea how it works. Got it free last year in that whole coal event or whatever it was.

pretty additive

Erm, glitter!

Crashpunk 11-22-2012 09:43 AM

My god I'm stupid.

*addictive

It's pretty easy to pick up in-game. It's a puzzle game that gets quite tricky after a few levels, but it's worth giving it a shot.

MeechMunchie 11-22-2012 11:05 PM

Plus, it makes you feel like a genius.

Phylum 11-22-2012 11:52 PM

I've wanted to buy it for a while. How hard is it compared to something like kohctpyktop? How user friendly is it?

Crashpunk 11-23-2012 01:36 AM

Max Payne 3 is -75% off! That's just madness seeing how that game only came out a few months ago.

I don't have the right PC to play it and I haven't really seen much of the game personally but it's a great deal for a new-ish triple A title nonetheless.

DarkHoodness 11-23-2012 02:28 AM

Well that's me sold on that. The prequels are also on sale...

Also Portal 2 is on sale for £3.75 - Those who have been living under a rock for the past 1 and a half years really now do not have an excuse to miss out on this.

E: Max Payne 3 is 30 GB. Something to be aware of if you're short of HD space...

dripik 11-23-2012 07:57 AM

I can only rely a limited amount of gameplay footage that I've seen and hearing about Max Payne 3 from other people when I say this: if you're looking for story and cutscenes in your MP experience, don't hesitate to buy the third game. If you want more shooting and actual gameplay, you'll better be off choosing the first two titles. Again, it's what I've heard (and partly seen).

It's worth checking on games you've always wanted to buy during the sale. It might actually be on sale, even if it's not featured on the Store page as the daily sale or whatever.

Nepsotic 11-23-2012 08:59 AM

I just picked up Portal 1 for £1.74. I've wanted this on PC for years now so this is awesome.

Varrok 11-23-2012 09:36 AM

You paid money for Portal 1?

DarkHoodness 11-23-2012 09:38 AM

Many people have a spare copy of P1 that they could've probably gifted to you if you'd bothered to ask... (Not me though, I already gave mine away)

Still, £1.74 isn't exactly pricey. :P And it's worth between £5 and £10 IMO.

E: Also I now own all 3 Max Payne games and have been enjoying the first one all afternoon, though it hasn't aged well. Was it the pioneer of bullet time in games? They're definitely worth picking up though.

Easier and much friendlier.

Jordan 11-23-2012 12:53 PM

I was a naughty boy and bought The Binding of Isaac. Hope it's worth it!

Varrok 11-29-2012 11:34 AM

https://www.humblebundle.com/

...guess who's got huge financial problems?

Dynamithix 11-29-2012 11:40 AM

I'll buy that pack later because I want to try out Darksiders. Poor THQ, don't know what they were thinking with that uDraw tablet thing.

Mr. Bungle 11-29-2012 11:48 AM

Sucks that THQ is officially going down the toilet, but this bundle is goddamn amazing.

Varrok 11-29-2012 11:57 AM

I recommend Metro2033. I don't recommend any of the other games because I haven't played them yet and they're not Metro2033

Manco 11-29-2012 12:10 PM

Well if you skipped Saints Row 3 before now is a good chance to get it.

OANST 11-29-2012 12:18 PM

Darksiders is pretty great. I'm sad that there won't be a third.

Mr. Bungle 11-29-2012 12:23 PM

I recommend Company of Heroes. Great RTS.

Varrok 11-29-2012 12:24 PM

Poor Red Faction. No one wants to recommend it

Mr. Bungle 11-29-2012 12:57 PM

I played it a little bit on PS3. It was alright.

Dynamithix 11-29-2012 01:12 PM

I have Red Faction Armageddon on my Xbox. It's kinda shitty. I mean, it's alright but it's just very meh.

Mr. Bungle 11-29-2012 01:13 PM

It's fun to just fuck around in, but yeah, the actually missions are very bland.

DarkHoodness 12-06-2012 04:39 PM

Faster Than Light is now on sale for £4.19 - It's worth getting, and I had a lot of fun with it. :)

Crashpunk 12-06-2012 11:53 PM

Old news but there's a sale on Steam on titles that use Big Picture Mode. Lots of great games on sale including Sonic Generations, Left 4 Dead 2, Hell yeah!, CS:GO and Space Marines to name a few.

also Geromerty Wars is 0.75p. But be warned. The game makes your eyes bleed from all the neon light effects

Mr. Bungle 12-06-2012 11:56 PM

Fuck I love Geometry Wars. I have it on my xbox. That is an amazing price. Might have to pick that up, and CS:GO finally.

Dynamithix 12-07-2012 02:11 AM

I'm pretty sure that Hotline Miami is also 50% off on Steam so get that, guys. It's awesome.

Manco 12-10-2012 12:19 PM

Dawn of War GOTY edition has been added to the Humble THQ Bundle.

Since I already own this game on Steam, anyone else want the code?

PM sent.
