No, really.
I'm not saying Skyrim is above criticism, I'm saying that getting some bullshit like 'generic' and 'more boring than Oblivion' out of Skyrim is absolute bullshit and just shows you've gone into playing Skyrim with a psuedo-critic mindset thinking 'I want to dislike this thing that other people love to make me look smarter than them'. It's risen the bar on WRPGs by a good few inches, and is pretty much the only game in that genre that I've not tired of horrendously fast. So yeah, keep being hip. |
People say its boring because i net theyve only played it for about 5 minutes, in that case, i'd agree with them, the first few hours of walking around for miles can get a bit tiresome. But once you get past that, its the most amazing game you,ll ever see.
I definitely wouldn't go that far.
I wouldn't even say it's in my top ten or twenty, nevermind GOTY. But it's definitely a great game. |
To be honest i think it is the best game ive ever played
Fanboy.
Give him a break, maybe he played two or three games in his entire life :)
No seriously, i think its great, and anyway i'm not saying its my favourite game, thats probably AO or RE4, the best in my opinion and my favourite are two different things.
It's probably the best of the Elder Scrolls. Morrowind was really cool but Skyrim just looks so darn pretty.
Yeah, pretty games > really cool games! : D

You listen to them do you?
That is brilliant. I think ive seen one of those guys before in something.
That was actually really well done:) Worth a few giggles.
Okay so, my brother just got Skyrim for his birthday, fuck me is it good. Debating whether to buy it for myself now.
Yeah, get it, once you get into it more it gets even better.
Finally hit level 50 last night.
I should really take a break... think after I'm finished with the Companions I'm gonna shelf this one for a bit. It's been absorbing my life. |
it'll take you AGES to level up now, i'm level 56 and have been for about a week and a half
I went from level 50 to 53 in five minutes. That was accompanied by a raise from level 30 to level 70 in Blocking as I stood happily, shield raised, beneath an angrily stomping giant. At 70 I got bored and killed the thing, but I'll remember that method for later. Every other stomp was worth a level in Blocking.
I don't think I can ever go happily back to playing Skyrim now that I've played Dark Souls. At first I thought that Skyrim had a good combat system. Oh boy, Dark Souls on the other hand...
Skyrim has really gotten to me x_x
Ive started eating grilled leeks lol... That game makes me so damn hungry. Im pondering whether I should try out the recipes in that cooking book you can find as well. |
Rotten in what way? Like, completely unenjoyable?

I wouldn't recommend squirells - the fur might stuck between your teeth and meat may cause bad gases

Awww, Poor man. Wish that dog was alive. :(
I've recently saw someone in my house playing Skyrim with the ability to be a shadow like figure and being able to launch himself forward, now I really want to start playing this game again. Good news, I recently joined the Dark Brotherhood. All I had to do is tend to this kids weird taste for vengeance on an old cow and then The Dark Brotherhood sees to it that I am not in their Brotherhood so they tell me to kill one out of 3 people I killed them all , ADHD version: I'm in bitches! -End of line. |
Id love to make a mod )=
I can see many cool and awesome things coming out of this, considering the popularity of Skyrim. Perhaps a modding community to rival Half-Life 2's one will spring from this, too.
Psst, hey you, I know who you are... Hail Sithis.
I cant wait for the creation kit to come out,I have something special im thinking of adding into the game XD
Im mostly thinking of adding dawn of war 2 wargear so I can look like a chaos marine XD |
So, just bought this. I just got to RiverWood
after dicking around and wandering the wrong way from that cave you spelunk out of. I guess I'm an imperial ally now, too. I'm curious if there's anything neat I can wander off from the plot and do soon. Going with an Ork with sword and shield/1H build and incinerate upgraded here and there. |

The Workshop has you |
Almost level 50, still playing my stealth/archery based argonian. Finally maxed smithing, wearing dragonscale armor with some pretty nice enchantments. Realizing how important so many of the skills/perks in the skill trees are this late in the game has been sort of annoying, though.
Adding mods to games is so much fun. I've got about two dozen mods on Fallout 3 and they really change the way the game plays. Things like green bushes and trees, extra companions, a gun that makes people dance... endless fun!
http://27.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_ly...4qn7o1_500.jpg The AI in Oblivion/Skyrim needs a bit of tightening up I think. In Fallout 3 if you kill someone the whole town goes berserk. I guess bounties in general need a bit more work, for them to be more realistic. Rather than: steal an apple - guards run over and attack if you dont pay them 5 gold! |
My Argonian, Trips-Over-Tail, has no need for the majority of the perks, even in the skills I actually use. I'm basically kicking ass on the strength of my vocational skills alone: smithing, enchanting and alchemy. All my longswords and daggers do over 120 damage with only two damage perks, my bow weighs in at 139 damage with the same. I don't even bother wearing my helmet anymore, since the rest of my dragonscales give me a 536 armour rating, just shy of the effective hard-cap of 567 (80 or 85% damage reduction). With helmet and shield that goes up to 1005- that's with one perk in + Light Armour and the 25% All Light Bonus perk.
Though Elder Dragons remained deadly. Then I enchanted my armour and jewelry to resist fire and magic, and to regenerate health. I may have to increase the difficulty again. No one can hurt me anyway, but now I'm sending them flying with shield charges and killing them before they can get back up. If I hadn't equipped my companions with similarly spectacular gear they would have all died in sword-swinging accidents. Has anyone gotten their companions to use the bows they give them? They only ever seem to use a hunting bow that doesn't appear in their inventory. The only way I got their damage up to scratch was giving them daedric arrows and archery enchantments. Also: no one can afford to buy my potions any more. That's how I made my money, now it seems like a waste to part with them when no shop can match a quarter of the selling value. :

Apologies but I'm about to shamelessly plug a Bethesda Softworks Music Video of Fallout 3 that I recently made. Comments are welcome :)
