"She fought for her country"? More like she just fought her country.

THERE'S BLOOD ON YOUR HAAANDS

EDIT: @MS* Basically, she is the very defenition of the modern meaning of the word 'Bitch'. Thatcher was a staunch Conservative with no proper understanding of the political process and how it affected the needs of her people. As a result, she ended up running one of the most unpopular British governments of recent years, ignoring anyone who tried to talk sense into her, and crippling the rights and livelihoods of hundreds of thousands of working-class people in the process.

Now she's a demented old biddy and everyone laughs at her. In Hollywood, that makes her inspirational.

RE-EDIT: oh yeah and also she was the uks first female prime minister

*Hey, never noticed that before.

OddjobAbe 12-13-2011 01:56 PM

I have a "Ding Dong Thatcher's Dead" party pack ready for the big occasion.

Nate 12-13-2011 02:27 PM

Everything I have read about that movie has implied that it is not in any way a sympathetic portrayal of Thatcher.

WoF: Are you suggesting that films should not be made about people you disagree with? Also, how the hell can you not have known about this film until now? It's been talked about in the media for months.

Wings of Fire 12-13-2011 05:34 PM

It looks like it's dramatizing and glorifying her and the actions she took.

Nate 12-13-2011 06:25 PM

It's a trailer. That's what they do.

Apparently the story is framed by her today, broken and senile, looking back on her past life.

MeechMunchie 12-14-2011 12:12 AM

Talking to an imaginary version of her dead husband.

EDIT: I knew it wouldn't take long.

In other news, it *should* be getting a big update next year that could easily double the content.

This may well be the most hilarious rubbish bin ever:

It's not obvious until you watch Part 2 here, but the guy actually planned it in advance.

Dynamithix 12-15-2011 05:21 AM

That was cool, hah.

Anyways, a new trailer came out for Sacha Baron Cohen's new movie, The Dictator.

I really liked the last bit.

JennyGenesis 12-15-2011 05:38 AM

I might check that out, but I'm unsure really considering how awful I thought Bruno was.

Crashpunk 12-15-2011 05:50 AM

Well I'm giving that a miss, I hate Bruno and Borat so goddamn much.

Dynamithix 12-15-2011 06:06 AM

I hated Bruno but Borat was alright. I actually prefer the Ali G films. They were so stupid that I thought they were hilarious.

Oh and hooooly shiiiiiiit:

I loved Ali G and whilst Borat was not as good I still thought it was a brilliant film.

The only part of Bruno I found entertaining is when he falls out of the window at the swingers party.

I found the rest of the movie totally boring...

Wings of Fire 12-15-2011 06:54 AM

Well uh

Those both look shit.

Dynamithix 12-15-2011 07:35 AM

You're no fun D:

Wings of Fire 12-15-2011 08:11 AM

To be fair, I shouldn't comment on The Dictator (Except the first thing I thought was 'This feels like a bad parody of a much older yet similarly named comedy') because I'm not a fan of Cohen's comedy style to begin with.

MIB, however, was one of my favourite movies of all time. I loved the animated series, thought the second film was shit and think this looks worse.

I KNOW RIGHT! I saw this a couple of days ago. I can't wait.

We are in mutual agreeance. Loved MIB when I was little. Barely got to see the animated series, but it was awesome. This looks like a humungous turd.

MeechMunchie 12-15-2011 02:17 PM

Really? I thought MIB was rare in that there was only maybe a 15% loss of quality between the original and the sequel. If it's got the same writers and J and K bickering then it should be fine.

Mac Sirloin 12-15-2011 02:24 PM

I remember thinking the second movie was overlong and slightly convoluted.

MeechMunchie 12-15-2011 02:26 PM

Wow. You'd almost think we were different people.

EDIT: That sounds more dickish than it's supposed to.

JennyGenesis 12-15-2011 02:37 PM

I remember when I went to watch Men In Black II in the cinema,

Me and my mum were the only people in the cinema watching it.

Strike Witch 12-16-2011 06:54 AM

I didn't mind the second film but it was a step down from the first one, obviously

I liked it better when people who made image macros could acknowledge they were neckbeards instead of whatever that lame turd is supposed to be.

Also BOO HOO HOO I'M REDDIT AND I DON'T KNOW POLITICS

And now this

DarkHoodness 12-16-2011 05:12 PM

The most blatant instance of ignorance I've read about since that Sligpatrol dude complained in a blog about Jesus being portrayed as having dark skin.

What the hell. Seriously.

the reactional laugh makes this hilarious.

EDIT:

also this

talked about this with a friend. he thinks most of this are actually real emotions because their situation is fucked up and it all comes up in the mass. it's like those maniacs who attend laughter yoga, only they don't need to show how good they are in being a communist

You're missing the point. They're not crying because their situation is fucked up and they know it will get worse. As far as they're concerned, their situation is fantastic and better than anywhere else in the world. They're genuinely mourning the Dear Leader.

It's the magic of propaganda!

Dynamithix 12-20-2011 08:20 AM

I like this guy's stuff. The rap itself is pretty damn awesome, but the background music just doesn't fit that well.

I am not so sure about that.
I think there are people who cry because they are brainwashed and truly are sad about the loss of the dictator. but I also think there might be people who only pretend to cry (just think of the many fugitives which cross the border to south korea, or watch "a state of mind" where you hear some critical thoughts of some citizens)
and at least, what my friend was trying to say was, that some of both of those groups, pretending or not, do cry because they are gripped by the mass and real emotions (fucked up life) come up.
