When I first played AO in 2005,I thought that meeches where sentient similar ot mudokons, if I remember in the manual it say, there where once these really cool guys called meeches...
The manual does say that there are cool guy called Meeches, though. So, I wouldn't say it disagreed with him.
No, it doesn't. It says there were cool creatures called Meeches.
I never even owned a manual, when I owned it for PSX, it was a used copy that was years old (I owned Abe's Exoddus first), the disk mysteriously disappeared the next day. Years later I bought it on Steam.
Therefore, my opinion is unrelated. I would ask why the Feeco Depot. is called what it is, but I'm pretty sure that Oddworld doesn't know either, so my question is, what would be a good question to ask? Also, I stumbled upon this. A couple years ago, fans of the legendary Oddworld game series got excited when Maxis co-founder Jeff Braun said he was involved with a new Oddworld game that featured a 3D animation system that will "look as good as a CG movie." Here's the link: http://g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/70...c-in-2010.html Not much, but one of the guys from Maxis is working at Oddworld, I always thought that great things could happen if Lorne Lanning and Will Wright ever joined forces to make the ultimate game, it would be nice to see that, but alas, EA owns Maxis, so It could never happen unless Maxis shut down. This article is sort of old, it's from April. |
So what was your question?

I never seen the PC version of the manual Max, only the PS one but to be fair < i doubt its changed, it was just off the top of my head
At 2:49. Would someone explain that to me? |
Amazing interview, reminds me why I love Oddworld.
A "Slig Tank"? Hmm I guess the Glukkons do have a military at their disposal. |
What was the thing they were rendering on the computer?
Some kind of submarine? Or just the roof of a large but not-yet-fully-built building against a blue background?
it looks like a u.f.o imo like from vykkers labs.
I thought that too. But you can see that it is much bigger, because of the gigantic smoke stacks on top. Lorne said this was for their next game. This was after munch's oddysee.
Also, Lorne Lanning reminds me of My Grandpa John. A lot. And again. At 3:59, lorne does his mudokon voice. Just wanted to let you know. And yet again. The building they are in looks like a gigantic fucking warehouse. I love it.. |
Slig tank?
Sounds ultimate hope they use it in new game (if it bloody comes out already) |
Seems like something that might be in Hand of Odd, I really hope that it doesn't become vaporware, I love RTS's, and I want to see all of the industrialist vehicles from Oddworld.
Well at that time they were working on MO and HoO at the same time, so it's safe to assume most of the stuff we see in that video are either cut out of MO or stuff supposed to be in HoO.
Who is my avatar?
Is there anywhere I can download all of the AO/AE screen backgrounds in their 3:2 aspect?
Otherwise, can anyone recommend an aspect-changing image resizer? |
:
Can you make it do multiple images at once?
EDIT: Looked it up. Thanks though. |
Do you guys remember that 'Test A Fuzzle' flash game? Does it still exist somewhere in the forgotten corners of the internet? I tried vykkerslabs.com which I think was the original website for that but it's no longer there.
EDIT: Nevermind, found it in Oddworld Library. God this brings back memories |
How big is the AE demo on steam? I'm guessing just Necrum mines? Only I was wondering if it's worth downloading when I have it for the PS
Yup, it's only Necrum mines. Not really worth it, at least in my opinion, seeing as I've played the fuck outta the mines in my day.
The demo I had when I was six or so only had the first path of Necrum Mines, if I recall correctly.
Mine had the first two, although the structure was slightly different. The well that normally leads to Abe's initial reunion with his buddies (before they get drunk) lead straight to the second path, and the well that normally leads to the Boiler Run lead to Abe's initial reunion with his buddies. This leads to the bizarre situation of Abe encountering his drunk pals before they get drunk.
At least, that's how I remember the PlayStation demo going. The PC demo is different, structured like the final game, with just the first path as ench recalls. |
Ok, thanks

Was the Mudokon Alf inspired by the dude who used to answer people's questions on the Oddworld website? So sad to hear that he passed away, he looked like such a delightful nerd. I used to love the pictures of him on his biography and his story was nice.
Never mind, I found the answer. |
The Mudokon Alf was the dude who used to answer people's questions. Unlike Human Fan Alf, the Mudokon Alf is still alive and on holiday.
At this point we could declare him legally dead.
I think that it's generally the authorities and/or medical professionals that should do that. We are mere lays.
I'm doing it. I'm declaring him legally dead and seizing his estate. Watch this space for the auctioning of his belongings.
Shotgun his FTP access to the official website. This is how auctions work.
Shotgun all his tea and merchandise...
And why did you guys decided he was dead? You don't have that kind of authority, even Max can't make thing canon, no matter how hard he tries. |
It hasn't been seven years yet.
It's like Narnia time. Or something.
I have a question probably best targeted at Max, what's an Elderling and also, are there any important dates we know of that happened before AO or after MO
:
:
No, he means dates. Like that time Abe and Phleg went to Alf's together.
