I saw When A Stranger Calls. I found it pretty creepy and got scared (I am a real whimp). It was a good movie though. I havent seen Serenity. What is it?

Gerard-Blaize 06-15-2007 04:10 PM

at my girl friends house today, we found Nightmare on Elm Street on video!
:D
she went mental when they killed Johnny Depp... -.-
good film, way to much hype though.

Fluid 06-16-2007 01:00 PM

i have to see 28 weeks later. I JUST HAVE!

quote]Are you a fellow Ed Nortan fan??['quote]
not exactly. but i like him

Gerard-Blaize 06-16-2007 03:36 PM

of course you are! :) but don't see 28 weeks later. unless you've seen 28 days later. and if you liked Cillian Murphy, see Breakfast on Pluto

Salamander 06-16-2007 05:52 PM

I have just seen: Harold and Kumar go to Whitecastle.

Arxryl 06-16-2007 06:01 PM

I've recently watched "Shrek the Third" and it was okay. Not my favorite release of the summer, but it wasn't bad either. When it comes out on DVD I'm sure to get annoyed with it though. At my house, things tend to get played only 25 times too often.

OANST 06-17-2007 12:52 PM

To Gerard-Blaize- Your avatar makes me want to punch you in the face. Just thought you might like to know.

Anywho, I saw the new Fantastic Four with my stepdad yesterday (I couldn't take him to see Hostel 2 as he is a devout christian). It was actualy half way decent. I didn't hate it like I thought I would.

Flamefox 06-17-2007 10:25 PM

That fantastic four-saw that as well. Though it was a bit lame, but eh, I have odd tastes. Serenity I saw, interesting it was, the bit a bout the Reavers was creeply realistic; bet they would do that in real life if they could get away with it

ANN NEELY 06-18-2007 05:15 PM

I just watched Stir of Echoes and very much enjoyed it, especially the ending. It was definitely a nice change from all the "The Ring" rip-offs Hollywood has been spewing out. I think I might actually be inclined to read the book it was based on.

LadySlig 06-19-2007 12:15 AM

The Ring; that movie is soooo lame. It is stupid crap. But I am not into those movies. When I watched King Kong I burst into tears when he died.

Dracula’s Ex 06-19-2007 12:18 AM

Yeah, I did as well. Some days I'm really emotional, and cry at the slightest things, others...I'm just like a rock.

Leto 06-19-2007 12:23 AM

Neopets avatar, then neopets avatar...?

So spam me.

I just watched Seinfeld. So there.

it's a teen-semi-porn-movie, what do you expect?

You've obviously never actually seen any porn:p

Arxryl 06-19-2007 08:59 AM

That's probably a good thing.

Fortesque13 06-19-2007 02:56 PM

MASH. Period, no extra comment.

ANN NEELY 06-23-2007 03:42 PM

I just returned from seeing 1408, and it was a total load of crap. It's like Stephen King isn't even trying anymore. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, because it's just one cheap thrill after another.

The Queen - 10 fo' 10

I absolutely loved the score.

I really want to see Kaena: The Prophecy. Looks like a good CG film.

Leto 06-23-2007 11:34 PM

The Proposition.

Surprisingly good for a 2-in-the-morning SkyMovies film.

Munch's Master 06-24-2007 02:59 AM

So I recently saw Pan's Labyrinth. After everything I heard abotu it I was expecting an epic. Boy was I disappointed. *Spoilers*

Way too much emphasis on the military aspect rather than Ofelia's adventure (Which, based on the ending, may not have even happened (SHe has the vision of beign a princess before she dies- as she is dying- plus the Captain can't see Pan or hear the Mandrake)), overly violent at sometimes, while at other times it was simply like the David Bowie Labyrinth film at night, and IMO not enough screen-time for the baby-killing thing with its eyes in its hands. Plus Ofelia was an idiot as a character.

Very disappointing film, I was expecting a 8 or 9/10 masterpiece, what I felt it was was an incredibly mediocre film.

Fortesque13 06-24-2007 01:33 PM

The tuxedo with Jackie Chan.
Funny idea, but it reminds me of The mask.

Alf Shall Rise 06-24-2007 01:38 PM

Lord of the Rings 1. Too long...I almost fell asleep. I can't wait to see the second though, many people said it was the best and had a lot of action.

OANST 06-24-2007 03:06 PM

Hostel 2 spoilers

I saw Hostel 2 yesterday. Didn't like it as much as the first. The whole killing Paxton thing in the first ten minutes of the movie kinda threw me off. Hostel's ending was satisfying because Paxton was able to escape and get some semblance of revenge. To see part 2 pick up right after 1 and have him beheaded just ruined the ending to part 1 for me.

Mutual Friend 06-24-2007 03:06 PM

It's almost as if you're deliberately spoiling those films.

OANST 06-24-2007 03:08 PM

I realized it as soon as I posted and put up a spoiler warning. Sorry about that.

You know...it wasn't as good as the first one. Though...it was interesting to see the bidding war for the american girls. I did like getting the perspective of the people who actually pay money to kill.

Erm... I don' know if this is your sense of humour or just a mistake but the spoiler warning is more or less invisible in Industrial theme.

Mutual Friend 06-25-2007 01:57 PM

A sense of some humour.

Kamille 06-26-2007 07:48 PM

I saw 1408 the other day, let me just I highly recommend it! I don't usually care for movies based on Stephen King stories actually I usually hate them but this movie was incredible! Best movie I've seen in a while, John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson were in it, so the acting was believable.

Havoc 06-27-2007 02:05 AM

The last week I watched the last few episodes of Stargate Atlantis which ends in a very anoying cliff hanger :(, and now I'm re-watching episodes from Father of the Pride. Nothin fancy for me, though I am going to go see Oceans Thirteen soon...

Off topic. BANT.

Strike Witch 06-27-2007 11:23 PM

I just saw Transformers. It was pretty good, with slick visuals, a coherent plot, and funny actors. Shia LeBouf was really a good lead actor. Also, the action never let up, and the sop was totally negligible.

And Megatron kicks Autobot Arse. :D

Munch's Master 06-28-2007 10:32 AM

Recently saw POTC 3. *Spoilers, of course*

Pretty good film, a lot of pratting about on ships with little happening, and double-crossing aplenty, but it was still fairly good. Not much action barring the final scene, but it was still a good film. Some very weird and abstract parts, but I felt they worked. The ending IMO (or at least post credits) seemed pretty definitive, as though there won't be anymore. Which IMO is a pityk as I liked the series. Don't know where I'd rank it in the series, but it was good. I think POTC2 was definitely their Empire Strikes Back, though.

Saw it last night. I didn't think there was nearly enough action.
I'm just going to copy and paste what I posted at another forum:

:

I saw it last night. I was actually quite disappointed. Far too much human storyline, and far too little Transformers stuff. The Decepticons never even held a conversation, and the Autobots didn't have as much to say as I thought they would either. Also, it was stocked to the brim with cheese. Although at some points you can tell that the cheese is intentional ala Snakes on a Plane (and these parts were quite cool), sometimes it isn't, and it's cringe inducing. Also plenty of plotholes. Someone here mentioned good acting. I wouldn't really say that.
Maybe I went into it with too higher expectations...
The action was pretty good, but camera angles could have been further away sometimes (it was quite hard to see who was doing what, since the detail on the Transformers was so good, not blocky like they used to be).

Oh and the film caught on fire as the movie was playing, around twenty minutes in, so we missed a few minutes of it due to that. It was pretty sweet/amazing seeing it melt away though. Definitely a highlight.

Strike Witch 06-29-2007 03:41 AM

Eh, depends on how you view transformers, I guess.

I thought the jokes were funny, and the action was enough.

Chubfish 06-30-2007 09:51 AM

Watched Shrek 3 when it came out, I like the nightmare. But thats the only spoiler i'm saying. Overall, its ok I guess.

Flamefox 06-30-2007 05:28 PM

Phah, Im dead to the world at the moment. Holed up at my house, avoiding all contact with others.

Daxter King 06-30-2007 05:44 PM

Forest Gump. One of the best movies I have seen in my life, if you have not seen it, see it, now.

Fortesque13 06-30-2007 07:20 PM

Oh, but I did! (twice) And I loved it every time.

Who on Earth wouldn't have seen Forest Gump? I've seen it like ten times. They used to play it like twice a day on our movie channel here.
