Patrick Vykkers 12-16-2006 06:24 PM

Praetyre watched Slap leave and then turned to his superior;
"Sir, while we're waiting, I'd like to ask you something. Well, three things actually. One, does this place remind anyone else of that old port off the southern coast? The one nicknamed "Misfitz Haven"? Because this place seems to attract unusual Inhabitants, myself included. I am a Vykker of a minority race with very different characteristics and personalities, you seem to be untouched by the age-rank conditioning of our species society, Slap is a free spirited Intern with a nurturing personality, I met an angry Slig who tossed a Mudokon at me earlier on, a strange looking Paramite, the former giant Krik, and of course, our deformed master of song and dance here. I mean, this is my first day, but even I can see this place is a strange yet in its own way, wonderful place to be. I think I'll enjoy working here.

Secondly, did you lose anyone in Lab 13, like I did? And have you ever worked near or under Humphrey or Irwin? I once got the honour of spending two nights in a suite to relieve an ill superior. In a way, I was really lucky it was only two nights. The day afterwards, all hell broke loose after that Gabbit did and, along with his evil Fuzzle friends, killed everybody on board except me and everyone in the bathrooms, interrogation chambers, and therapy rooms. Poor Lulu. He was absolutely hysterical after the place had exploded. I saw him in the lobby room begging after he was bankrupted and my aunt had left the auction.

Thirdly, have you ever worked in the same place as me before? You seem like a professional and experienced individual, so I'm just wondering. I've worked in Slog Hut 1029, 1030, 1544, Rupture Farms 987, 1000, Vykkers Labs 11, 12, 13, and even Flubco."

Taytay 12-17-2006 06:52 PM

Jade had no idea what to do, he knew he would get fired and all of his hoped of being a vallet would be lost so he did the only thing he knew to do. Shoot. Jade aimed his rifle straight at Zap. Zap stared realizing what he had just done. Jade stared at the mud and whispered: I will shoot you right here if you don't shutup and wish this never happened. If you ever, I repeat EVER tell a single soul about this, I will make it my duty to blow your puny muokon feelings across the ground you walk. Kapeesh? Zap simply nodded, terrified.
Jade had never been mean to a mudokon on his own wanting to do so. ingHe did it and realized the power he had. The amazing this rifle held. Jade smiled. "Now, go to Arnie and get a job." Zap nodded and acted like he was picking something up, and Jade turned and left the alley.

Gretin 12-18-2006 12:58 AM

Matthew replied to him, while cupping his mouth to ampilafy his voice, "Business if moving smoothly in the Scrab Legs section, but not so well with the rest! We need more Mudokons to help us!! Can you help?!? Or at least call the rest of the Mudokons to work around here??"

Ralph stood looking at Matthew silently for a few moments in that familiar (to those who knew him) way. It was almost like he would "analyse" every new person he met before he would speak to them. Then he said, "I don't know about calling other mudokons, as I've only just arrived at this factory myself. And I have no desire to go on a hunt for mudokons. However, I think I can assist with something."

He turned and walked back the way he came, then proceeded down the stairs to come out the door on the lower levels and walked up beside Matthew, "What needs to be done?"

EDIT: Figured Mitsur had a pretty good idea with his map thing, so here's Ralph's position (I think I'll just update the picture at this link every time I post here, and either include the link at the end of every post or even just chuck it in my signature).

ooc: Just to make it clear, I don't consider that map to scale, it just shows where rooms are and the shape of things and stuff.
Oh, and if Ralph had jumped that far he'd be a little splodge of guts on the floor right now.
Zerox, reread my post. Jim said something when he saw Sturg that you should react to.

Zerox 12-18-2006 10:06 AM

OOC: Gah, why didn't I see that?
IC: Sturg walked over to them, and said to Somi "So, this is who you were looking for?" Before addressing the Mudokon who had mentioned the Meeches possible extinction "Uh...am I extinct? That's what I really want to know. I found this poster recently, and it confused me when I saw that it said Meeches were...well...extinct."

Munch's Master 12-18-2006 10:56 AM

Dek felt guilty as he watche Slap leave. He knew how talented the Intern was at medical work and felt bad ordering him around like a servant. He'd make it up to him somehow, maybe buy him some new surgical tools, or a computer upgrade.
He listened to Praetyre's in-depth discussion about past places of employment, and answered.
"Yes this palce certainly is bizzarre. You haven't met Arthur properly but he's odd for a Slig, no doubt, considering he gets on with mudokons and now enjoys cooking. Then there's Gappiqu, who seems to have affection for Dionysia, an experiment mud I briefly examined. Then there's Anni, sheesh, I won't even go there. I tried to examine her to see why she' different- she used to have visions or anger spats, you see- but when I returned she'd escaped and another Slig said she set the restraints on fire somehow. The place certainly attracts both the oddballs and the dregs."
"Anyway did I lsoe anybody in the Lab 13 incident.....yes but, I'd rather not talk anbout it. A cousin of mine was killed in it. And he was a friend as well. We broke into the medial proffessionat the same time, me slightly before him. Both of us went to Lab 13 about oh.....18, 19 years ago? Before that I was an engineer and inventor. I left there around 12 years ago, having set my sights higher, he stayed. I also met Arthur there, funnily enough, but he left shortly before me and went to some obscure place. Anyway, i don't know if I worked with you. Were you at Lab 13 around 18 years ago? The only thing of notice I can remember is there was once a riot that broke out because someone hadn't laoded the fuzzle cages properly and they broke open, and while everyone was rounding them up the Scrubs took it upon themselves to stage an escape attempt."

"And as for where I've worked, I worked at Lab 6, Eugene's Engineering 2, Slog Hut 247, some small pharmaceutical compnay, and most recently Lab 15, where I was very high up the social ladder until i got kicked out. I never even intended to join here as n employee you know. I was called out on a 'one-off' medical call by Arthur, as a couple of hsi friends had sustained accidents in the Boilers. I was delayed however, as treatment took longer than I expected and more people soon became patients, so I got the sack. And that's pretty much my lfie history. How about you?"
~~~~~~~~~~
Arthur tore up the staits by thre first grinding area, noticing a large batch of mudokons down there as he went. He shot out into the 2nd floor corridor and managed to ctach Slap. "Pant.....*Pant*....Slap, Boy am I......*wheeze* glad to see....8You buddy......*deep breath*..What's the Foine number for the Patents office you want me to ring to confirm our soup deal?....Tell me and I'll...phew I should never run on a full stomach again......I'll go ring 'em and get a Chronicler down here to sort it out." He leaned against a wall, still catching his breath.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Dean started heading to the security office, expecting Kix to follow.

ooc: Just to make it clear, I don't consider that map to scale, it just shows where rooms are and the shape of things and stuff.

I don't think it really matters as far as showing where characters are goes, that's pretty much what I had intended (and what I assume Mitsur intended) when I put the marker showing Ralph's position, it's just to give a general idea of where he is, like what room he's in and stuff.

:

Oh, and if Ralph had jumped that far he'd be a little splodge of guts on the floor right now.

Oh... damn, didn't realise it was that far :p I'll edit.

Patrick Vykkers 12-19-2006 12:47 PM

Praetyre replied to his superior;
"Well sir, I decided when I was 32 to take up a life of science and medicine. As such, I acquired support from my parents and studied for 10 long years at the Nolybab Academy. As such, I acquired numerous degrees, which I have already mentioned.

My first job was as a AutoSlaughter tester in Sloghut 1544. I had to test a new device that would of automated most new Sloghut work. It was a disaster. The idiot who designed it had glued together the transistors, and spilt alcohol all over the monitor. As such, it took them 2 years to get a new research team, rethink the plans, design, and construct the thing. But it was too much of a power hog, and as such the Magog shut the project down. Shame really. It could of prevented lots of Mudokon accidents.

I was fired in a rage by the boss, who decided he would take it out on all Vykkers for a few's stupidity. At the time, there was an unemployment crisis, and Inhabitants were lining up for jobs left and right. I decided to use this opportunity to study for 4 years at the Irwin Engineering School. I completed my education there with a 70% pass rate, then found the crisis was over. As such, I found work at Sloghut 1030. The boss was kind of old fashioned, but at least he wasn't a racist psychopath. I helped repair the pants of some of the Slog Attendants there, and even once performed eye surgery on an elderly Intern. The whole concept and subject makes me queasy, so I'd rather not discuss that. I continued for 9 years at the same old job, until the Cartel sent an inspector in and decided to promote some of the staff. I got transferred to Sloghut 1029, important strategically given its proximity to Mudokon lands. That's where I encountered Arrack, and the rest of my job there is history. After that 5 year stint, I was invited to a Medics Dinner at New Yolk. Quite nice, plus I got to spent my holidays there. Idiot Outlaws kept screwing things up, though.

My next job was a 7 year contract working at Flubco designing extraction devices. After an unfortunate few first incidents with concussion cannons and Slig skulls, and numerous spiritual repentance trips after that, I managed to build a fat extraction device, the one called the Lipocannon. It was quite sucessful, becoming the industry model for 20 years until the invention of the Flubpod. The added financial padding caused my boss and most of his "racially preferred" personnel to receive some extra cash. I accepted, but secretly actually distributed 95% of it to my underlings. I used the rest to buy my grandfather a cybernetic pair of legs.

My contract ended, and I found myself a job at Rupture Farms 1000. Believe me, you don't know Meech meat until you tried one of Honest Manfred's Meech Delights. They really are delights, unlike 90% of Magog meat. I spent 5 years there as a slaughterhouse meat grader, but quit due to a new boss coming in and asking me to become a therapist, both a field I have no experience in and one that in Magog terms normally involves causing pain to other living intelligent beings. By this time, my medical tenure was mature enough to work at the glorious Labs themselves, and so I went off to #11. I was put in the position of both Intern medic and Mudokon medic. #11 is quite dangerous if you don't know where to look. As such, I continued to try and save lives until getting a promotion to #12 after 3 years.

I spent another 3 years there, this time as the Master Medic. There were also a lot of horror stories there, including one where some Intern nurses didn't wash there hands after a toilet break and caused an entire Mudokon ward to die. The smell was so bad, I had to wear armour normally reserved for the Chemical Labs even to prevent myself from vomiting my recently eaten Gabbiar meal up. I continued for 3 more years, until I was finally moved up to Lab #13 after designing a new GabbitHunter 31415.

Lastly, I held the position of Senior Vykker Executive at Vykker Labs. And the aformentioned Vykker superior, who was on the Labs board of directors, made me his substitute. The rest, of course, is history."

Taytay 12-19-2006 03:53 PM

Jade left he Alley-like thing. Jade looked around. "ARTHUR! OH ARTHUR IM READY TO COOK!" Jade looked around. "ARTHUR! ARTHUR! ARTHUR!" Jade waited. Zap ran out of the alley and darted past Jade and smacked him across the face as he ran. Jade swung his rifle at him, but missed. Zap left down the hallway and leapt through the cafeteria. He walked up to the glukkon called Arnie. Zap had an idea, a sneaky one at that.
Scranton asked: "Where am I to be working?"

Albino Slig 12-22-2006 11:32 AM

OOC: Hey Guys, I think im going to start over again if thats okay. Im talking to Jade in this post.

IC: Jet exited the train and heard somone shouting. He walked over to the edge of the train station and saw jade shouting. He was very curious and exited about the new executive of rupture farms and what exiting job he would give him. Jet walked closer and closer to Jade and he finaly made a stop. "Umm.. Hello. What is your name and where am I supposed to go?"

Taytay 12-22-2006 01:44 PM

ooc: YAY your finaly here!
IC: Jade stared at the slig, looking at him all over. Seeing how white and pale this slig was. He was pure white. His eyes were like an off-pink. How did this slig get like this? Jade couldn't help himself from blurting: "What the paramite-pie is wrong with you?!"

Slaveless 12-22-2006 02:50 PM

Matthew looked at the Mudokon, and was a little more frightened by the appearance of him. Dark blue and far stronger looking than Joel normally was something he didn't not want to look into a Mudokon. Big Bros were enough, Mudokons didn't need to go onto the steroids. Perhaps he could get him to at least be a friend of his.

Matthew attempted to make a joke and replied swiftily, trying to get his shock off of his face at the same time, "OK first, we need to get you to have a new hip outfit. We need to put put some color on our pants, give you an Intern cap, alng with an undershirt. I mean look at you, you're as dull as a bird in a factory!" Matthew waited for the Mudokon to respond.

Isaac finally collected enough meat on the ground back into his barrel, using a cloth he packed into his pocket, as well as his hands. Making his cloth bloody and his hands, Isaac knew that he had to eventually clean off. But first, he had to get all of the meat clean of dirt. Isaac lifted his barrel up into the air and triedto look around. He tried to find a hose, so he could fill to barrel with water. He started to walk onto the platform he was on, searching for some kind of barrel. Isaac was relieved a Slig wasn't watching, or else he would be punished for not working.
-=-=-=-=-===-==-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Slap got out of the Labortory before someone started to talk to him. Finally, he could work on his job and not have to worry about some sob story about a Slig's or a Vykker's poor life. But he could hear the two Vykkers in the Labortory, discussing some matters by themselves. He wondered how much time they actually spent performing surgeries, than talking about the past.

As Slap walked around the corriders, he noted on how the factory was remarkbly large and very dark. The pipes and all kinds of machinery above him hummed with movement, like a living breathing monster. The lights blinked on the wall, almost giving a feeling that it was night time. It never seemed to fail to be like that. Since no light came into the factory, artifical light brigthened the place, but like those time, the factory just seemed not big enough to make it look like day there. Normally, back at the hostipal and the Vykker Labs he was raised in, the light of day shone into the facility turning the lightning to represent what it was like outside. Here, it was just plain dark, making everyone's skin tone to appear darker. When he was normally pale, his skin was turning a light shade of bluish purple. Strange how it was, he liked it all. Made him feel that he wasn't back where Dr. Eloha lived.

Slap was starting to think of how he was going to get all of these supplies, when he was interrupted by the worn out Arthur. He seemed highly deprived of required energy, just by his breathing. Slap was curious how that was so, since usually Sligs only get tired from running when their brain is working hard to pulse his pants to go into that kind of gear. He realized that he needed the number for the Chronicler. Slap sighed and opened up his laptop. He needed to work on a patient so he typed, "eight-six-six-four-two-one." He tried to avoid saying anything else, since he feared of having to go through another conversation.

Gretin 12-22-2006 04:28 PM

OOC: Just so you know, I didn't intend for Ralph to look much different from other mudokons except for his skin colour. I don't mind if he turns out being a little taller and bigger, but none of this huge muscly stuff :p His changes, except the skin colour, are supposed to be near invisible. So yeah...

IC:

Matthew attempted to make a joke and replied swiftily, trying to get his shock off of his face at the same time, "OK first, we need to get you to have a new hip outfit. We need to put put some color on our pants, give you an Intern cap, alng with an undershirt. I mean look at you, you're as dull as a bird in a factory!" Matthew waited for the Mudokon to respond.

Ralph was used to this. Trying not to show annoyance in his voice, he answered, "Sorry pal, humour doesn't work on me. I didn't choose to be this way, so I'm sure you can figure the rest out for yourself. Now, what needs to be done?"

Albino Slig 12-22-2006 07:23 PM

OOC: Okay i think im going off to a better start. I...think. Im talkin to Jade on this one

IC: "Im not sick on paramite pies. Im just an albino. Im trying to find where the executive of rupture farms is and i was wondering if you could help me? My name is Jet. Well umm anyway, could you show me where the glukon executive is?"

OOC: Signing off

Taytay 12-22-2006 07:37 PM

Jade still stared thinking. Albino? What was this? Some sort of circus? Albino. Wow, Jade thought of all the jokes that would go around about this poor 'feller. Jade still examined him but then awnsered him. "Go to the cafeteria and talk to the head gluk. Arnie, there should be a map next to the left turn over-" Jade pointed at the map - "there! Anyways, Hello Jet my name is Jade and I am currently looking for a slig named Arthur who is starting a cooking buisness I will be joining, so if you could find him and tell him im at the train station...I would be truley greatful, thank you Jet! Good look, best wishes!"

Splat 12-23-2006 05:32 AM

ooc: Where's Dripik?

IC:
Jim looked characteristically nervous and nodded, "Years ago, before Rupture Farms was destroyed the first time, they stopped making meech munchies and people all said it was because meeches went extinct, cus they were all hunted till there was none left."
Anni said quickly, "There have been stories lately that some have been seen in the wild, but no one knows for sure."

Zerox 12-23-2006 05:54 AM

IC: Sturg thought as he took it in, then replied "for many years I've been living in the outskirts of Rupturefarms, generally trapped in the low pen areas and not going to close to the main factory. But there is only so much one can take before they get bored of staying in one area...before that, though, I noticed general decreases in wildlife populations in areas that were frequented by Sligs and other such 'industrial' creatures. Since Meech numbers, in this case, appear to have gone right down, but if there were a few left, they've been given time to start re-estabilishing the species, so maybe that's a reason why more have been seen lately. I wouldn't be too surprised if similar happens to other creatures maybe...Scrabs and Paramites are collected from far out in the wilds, but not from Rupturefarms itself, so I presume they are far more scarce outside the factory's walls. Am I right there?"

Slaveless 12-23-2006 06:07 AM

OOC: Ah, thanks for clearing that up Gretin.

IC: Matthew looked at the Mudokon carefully. What Mudokon doesn't have a sense of humor? What did he mean by, "the rest of it."? Was he some sort lactose intolerant kind of person, that has been reduced down to being obsessed with SoulStorm Brew and forcing himself to think all of life is horrible? Matthew was raised to do, not to think. Glukkons did that. And he guessed that he had the privildge to tell him what kind of work was needed.

Matthew took a good look around, thinking of all the problems that needed to be solved. Well, there was a grinding process that needed to be finished as soon as possible. More Mudokons needed to be around. Then people needed to put together wooden planks together to form barrels. Another thing that was needed was someone needed to continue to clean up all ther messes around there. Matthew clarfied, "Well, Mudokons need to grind up meat around here quickly, so they can be sent to the Production Lines. Wooden planks need to be placed to together so they can be used in the Production Lines as well. We also need someone to clean up after our messes. You could be either one of those. I'm just sending barrels into the Production Lines. See?"

He shoved his lever on and watched the commotion. Barrels were being lifted into the air with the conveyor belts, and being carried into the Production Lines. Hopefully someone was there at the Production Lines, also working.

Matthew remembered Sam and remembered his fear of strangers. He also commented, "Oh and don't talk to that Mudokon down there. He is uncomfortable with strangers. But if you're going to take our job, we can go off working somewhere else."

Albino Slig 12-23-2006 02:50 PM

IC:"Thanks for the info,Jade,. I will go to the cafeteria and see if I can find Arnie. Umm.. What about this cooking buisness. Do you whant a job at the cafeteria or something? If so just come with me. If not then I guess I'll see you later then.

OOC: Signing off

arkaznor 12-24-2006 12:20 AM

Ark: (Gets off train, and as it pulls away looks around)
"Wow, this is bigger than I thought it would be. Umm... can anyone tell me where to find, umm... (looks down at piece of paper) #7 slig!"
'It doesn't look like anyones around.'

Slaveless 12-24-2006 11:01 AM

OOC: Welcome aboard, Arkaznor! I like the character and the form of your writing Arkaznor, however I will give you a little bit of suggestions. Try to put a little more detail into the writing, like clarify who your character is and whom he is talking to. Also, I might want to add that the whole possession thing might need to be a little more controlled.

IC: Bonty had fell asleep after being bored that the Mudokon had gone off somewhere. He finally started to burst his eyes open, to face a Mudokon he never thought he would see again. Bonty realized that his friend was kneeling on one knee, and faced Bonty. He had a stern expression on and said a little oddly, "Hey bud, are ya all right?"

Bonty sat up and rubbed his face hard. He groaned and replied to his friend, "Not sure Hufty, I fazed out after...."

Bonty was struck by both shock and estatsic at the same time. Hufty was a friend of his at Slurg Barns 11, back when he worked for Molt's boss, Rraff. But Hufty was one of the eleven Mudokons there that was executed by Molt publicly, after trying to free Meeps back into the wild. He saw him die! How did he come back? Was all of the pain really just.... Bonty started to excitingly think, "Was that whole thing a dream?! Me being tortured by Molt and then sent to Bonewerks to work??! And then sent me to Vykker Labs because he needed an assistant? Then finally going to Rupture Farms?!? Did I really dream several years of my life?? Was that all a horrible dream or not?? But if Hufty is here, than it must all be just a dream!! Yes!!"

Bonty excitingly stood up and said to Hufty, "Hufty, I had the weirdest and the most horrible dream!! But now it's all gone now!! It was all a strange, nasty dream!! Everything is how it should..."

Before he could complete his sentence, he realized something even bigger than life. He was still at Rupture Farms. His skin was still brown. If that was all a dream, then how come it happened?

Hufty stood up to see Bonty in the eye. He was a just a normal green Mudokon, with nothing that was abnormal about him that set himself off from the rest. But his face held stitches and he looked at Bonty gravely. Hufty sighed and shook his head, and deeply commented, "No wonder they call it Oddworld. I think you just had a dream of your life."

Bonty had his shocked eyes be fixed onto Hufty's. They looked at each other as Bonty tried to figure out why he could still see Hufty's face. He remembered that moment when Molt tied up Hufty to a rope that hung from a ceiling. And that shot that struck Hufty's heart... There was no doubt that he didn't die. Yet the smell of Rupture Farm's polluted air snuck into Bonty's nose, showing that he really was at Rupture Farms. Bonty's mind raced as he tried to figure this one out. The breeze behind his feather proved that he was awake. Bonty's mind pulsed and his heart skipped two beats when he came down to a conclusion....

Bonty gulped nervousily, as he tried to sneak the words out of his mouth. "Am, am, am, am, I dead Hufty? Am I in Odd?"

Hufty's grim face broke into a smile. He pressed his hand onto Bonty's shoulder, and said quietly, "Well, no. Your alive. If you were, I couldn't do this, now could I?" He pinched Bonty's shoulder tightly, tight enough for Bonty to yelp. Bonty shoved Hufty's hand off his shoulder in the pain, and stared at his brother's chest. There wasn't the bullet he remembered that was there. He seemed healthy, like in his memories of Hufty. This couldn't be. If he wasn't dreaming and he isn't dead yet, why can he see a dead person?

Bonty deeply shattered the silence by saying viciousily, "I'm going absolutely nuts!!!!"

"No, you're not. Your head is perfectily fine. Trust me on this one."

"How can I??!! I saw you die, I can't see you!!"

"Then who are talking to?"

"My head!! That's it!! I'm starting to talk to myself because of my determination for trying to escape!! I need to express my emotions to someone else besides my imagination!!"

"You're getting warmer...."

"Then what is it!?!?"

"I'm a spirit expressing itself through your conscious. I'm here to help you complete a task that must be done."

Bonty did not reply. He didn't want that to be real. He just wanted to be a normal Mudokon, not some lunatic who is seeing people. He needed to get rid of Hufty fast. But how? Maybe he could tell others that he needed to get this Mudokon shot. But what if it really is his imagination? Or maybe Hufty was right. Bonty wanted to find out as fast as possible.

He started to sprint of in the corrider he was in. He avoided the cameras, as he watched for some sort of person about. Bonty exhaled faster and faster as he tried to think that Hufty was not right beside him. Even though he wanted to be with his friend, he didn't want to think that he was seeing him through being phsycotic. He sprinted harder, until his sight saw two Sligs. (Jade and Albino) He didn't care if one of them was albino, all Sligs were the same. They would shoot him for not doing anything.

Bonty kneeled onto his knees at the sight of them and looked at the fearfully. He tried to think of an excuse for running in the hallway. But he was to be distracted when Hufty, standing beside him commented, "If you're going to escape, you might as well stop trying to beg for Slig's acceptance."

Bonty stared at Hufty, and gave him a confused glance. He didn't understand. How did he get here without running beside him? He was to be answered when Hufty gave him another conversation to think about, "You're trying to escape, right? So don't give them what they want. If you want to get outta here, you need the trust of Mudokons, not Sligs. Sligs will only get yourself to untrusted by Mudokons. And you want to rescue all Mudokons right?"

Bonty was struck with bafflement. How did he know anything about what he thinks? And why did he just say that in front of those two. He pointed at Hufty and said with utter bafflement in his voice, "Did you hear that?"

OOC: Just for the record, onlt Bonty can see Hufty. What Hufty said is true about Bonty. This is just a little something I was thinking of for some time.

arkaznor 12-24-2006 03:51 PM

ooc: Ok. I changed my profile to make it a little bit better. Not muched was changed, mostly the possesing.

IC: "Well, I could just walk around here intell I found someone.Though, I think I'm just going to wait here."
'someone has got to come, sometime.' Ark sat down on the hard cold floor, and dozed off to sleep.

Taytay 12-28-2006 11:26 PM

ooc: Is it just me or is this RPG dying slowly? It seemed a bit faster earlier.
Also, where is Dripik? I or maybe we need him to get things back into motion.
IC: Jade daydreamed more about being a vallet. The wonderful glory, the fame! The love, the highest slig ranking. Where from a vallet? He didn't care. Just being a vallet that's all he wanted. He just couldnt wait for the- Jade heard footsteps. Running, clunky big mudokon footsteps. They got closer. Was something exploding, blowing up, or on fire? Mudokons don't run otherwise. Unless, Unless he was trying to escape? Ah ha! That's it! Jade stared in the direction of the footsteps, readied his gun. He walked forward a little. Waiting. Waiting. There! There was the mudokon. He was...brown? First a white slig, now a brown mud? What was going on?! Was...was Jade going colorblind? Jade stared as the brown mud ran past. Jade considered a chase. Jade loaded his rifle. But heard a bang and looked back at the dent in the wall. Gasped in amazement and turned back toward where the brown mud was, and he was gone.

Zap heard it, Zap creeped up and saw it. He knew what the mud was doing. Escaping, it didn't take the big scientist vyker of vyker's labs to know that. Zap decided he'd jump in with him. He'd either escape with this mud, or die trying. This is what the world of Oddworld needed. REBELLION! Zap picked up a rock and chucked as hard as he could at the wall behind the slig he had encountered earlier. As it smacked against the wall, Zap darted from his alley and got next to the brown mudokon and left the eyesite of the two sligs. Gasping, Zap tried to explain.
"I am Zap -*catches breath*- your esca-*gasps*-ping and I want to help, or die helping, it may seem silly to die for you, though I don't know who you are. But I think this is what the damn industrialists need. A rebellion!" Zap kept running a little beside the brown mud.
"So what's you're name?"

OOC: The RPG always goes through dead periods at holiday times- everybody (including me) is or has been enjoying Christams so hasn't come on. As such the RP's slowed to a crawl. Same will happen next week- New Year.
IC:
Arthur memorized the number '866421' called "Thanks Slap!", then took off at a run again for the station. "Man I should never run about on a full stomach. I'd be fine normally but after eatin', no wonder I'm not so good. Musn't......exerciss......after.....food!" He thought to himself.
~~~~~~~~
Dek listened to Praetyre's tale. It was certainly involving. "I see you have quite a storied background, my friend. Now we must just wait for Slap. I feel guilty sending him off like an errand Slig, when he has medical skills. Perhaps we should get him a present to show he is appreciated, something like a new set of tools, or a computer upgrade?"
Slaveless 12-29-2006 08:02 AM
OOC: Good thing I joined in Feburary.
And I actually think Bonty had stopped running after he saw the two Sligs. Oh well.
IC: Bonty stopped in his tracks to see the Mudokon named Zap that was talking to him. Something about escaping, since he had been running in the corriders. Rebellion? He had planned to make one years after he escaped, when he did have an army of Mudokons to control. He wanted to at least have some mystic power before returning, kind of like Abe. Bonty tried to clarify that, but Hufty had said to him instead, "Hm, your first follower. He seems enthuastic about the idea. Why don't you tell him of my plan?"
Bonty looked at Hufty with a hard scowl, knowing that would be a bad idea. But Bonty had to admit, getting Mudokons to follow him was probably a good idea. There wasn't a whole lot of Sligs around here, and most of them even ironically encouraged going outside. Maybe that was a decent idea. But Sligs like Molt would menacingly paralzye you for even thinking of escaping. He remembered when he was young, and when a Mudokon tried to free Paramite eggs into the wild, Molt shot him to death because he thought he was, 'trying to destory corporate profits and make start a protest parade.' He shivered at the thought of Molt finding out what he was trying to do.
Bonty looked back at Zap and looked at his eager face. He guessed that now that he was running in the halls, he was probably a protestor already. But maybe he could lie to this Mudokon and try to get the Sligs' approval back. Hufty raised his voice before Bonty said anything to say, "What in Odd do you think you are doing?! I told you, it is a crime for joining the Slig side! And this is all over fear of getting hurt!! I am ashamed!!"
Bonty looked back to face Hufty and whispered silentily, "I don't want to end up like you."
"So that's it. You are afraid of ending your life. Well news flash, if Abe didn't sacrifice his life, you probably would be on the list of becoming Mudokon Pops! So go out and rebel against all Molt!! Molt can try to crush you, but the want to escape will burn even more!!"
"I know what I am doing."
"Your fear of Sligs is not something to be proud of."
"At least it won't get me hurt."
"Beatings will hurt you. Being shoved into a meat grinder will hurt. Getting a black eye will hurt too. Being shot will hurt. Not too much different from having to be shot for escaping, huh?"
Bonty had to think about that one. Should he go on fearing Sligs, or become a saviour to stop the beatings of others? And couldn't he do what a slave did when Sligs were around to be convincing? It would be like that he is a secret agent of his own group. That would be cool. So Bonty faced Zap again, and admitted to him, "My name is Bonty. And thanks for helping. I need to go somewhere that there isn't Sligs. Maybe others should do the same. And actually, I was thinking of escaping, and returning with an army of Mudokons. But I guess you can come along. I was trying to get people to help me along, but not too many. So, what should we do first?"
As Slap watched Arthur run off, he remembered his task. Find a few Fuzzles, a few cages for them, and get Chill Pills with Espressos. He figured might find the drugs and drinks back at the Production Lines, since Sligs need them to cool their temper and to get make a pretty good chase on escaping Mudokons. The Fuzzles were obviousily at the Stockyards, but the cages might be at the Labs, with the other cages. He might find filling in that order for Praetyre might be hard, since he can't speak. But he might as well make the rest of the ones count. Slap started off again, trying to find the stairs that leads to the Production lines.
Taytay 12-29-2006 08:16 AM
Zap grinned overly satisfied that he wasn't rejected the way he had known his life to be. "Well, your the leader so you get to choose what we are doing. But we might want to find any slaves or prisoners of Rupture Farms that would like to help and free them. Also, thank you for bringing me along. It is muchly apreciated."
Jade wondered if seeing that mudokon run was him seeing things. Seeing a white slig, seeing things. Seeing a dent in the wall. Seeing things. He could never become a vallet if he was crazy! But what if it was all real?
Patrick Vykkers 12-29-2006 01:20 PM
Praetyre replied to his superior;
"I would, sir, except I'm very short on cash at the moment. When I get my first paycheck, I'll take a little break and buy some of those tools for him. I might even buy him a new apron. His current one looks kind of drab and old. And we wouldn't want him to feel drab and old, would we? So, I'll take a trip as soon as I get my first paycheck."
Praetyre spoke again;
"By the way, sir, just for the sheer hell of it, I'd like to ask you about the most disturbing things you've seen. I've always been one for stories, especially if they are gruesome. My top 5 would be Arrack, the dead Mudokon ward, Mudokon's who got their heads chopped off in accidents but are still alive, having to watch videos on Glukkon proctology, and... activities... between a Vykker security chief and his Intern secretary...s."
Slaveless 12-31-2006 07:23 AM
OOC: Actually Patrick Vykkers, Slap's apron is pretty new. His old one got shredded by Max in v.5, but he found a new one in the Labortory. But we could say that it seems old.
IC: Bonty gave Zap a silent smile, trying to hold in his strong shock for being called leader. Never in his life was he one to make decisions. He usually was dependent on others to make his life how it is and what would be the right thing to do. Following was what he was born to do. Hufty gave him a smirk and noted, "Welcome to the club, leader. Why don't you make your call?"
Still in shock, Bonty decided to think like a leader, maybe to start off things. Ideas formed in his head, all with good ones and ones that he didn't like. He knew that some of these ideas would result in ways not everyone would be proud in, but he decided that safety came first. Bonty then realized that he really didn't know the factory very well, so one idea popped in his head. He looked at Zap and professionally added, "Well, thank you Zap, for joining the club. I have tried to escape before, but let's just say that didn't work out very well. Now my first plan is to actually find a meeting place. One where Sligs couldn't spy us in. Then, we should find some members that might assist us in the escape. Ones that know about the factory better than I, and maybe know the best way to get out of the factory. So if you ask me, we should try to connect to these Mudokons these days. That is probably the best way to convince people of escaping. So come on, lets go try and go meet the Mudokons!"
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Slap had remembered of the shorter route to getting in the Production and Packaging areas, and decided to follow the walls that lead to the R+R. While thinking to himself of how to find the Espressos, he reminded himself on how to handle a Fuzzle. He had to carry them around for Dr. Eloha back in the early days, so it should be no problem. But the only problem is that Fuzzles might very well not be near a cage, so he might need to sedate that Fuzzle. It struck him that all of his knock out gas was gone, and the Vykkers would have to operate on the Fuzzle without it being unconscious. That was also on his personal list of ordering supplies, but he might need one of the Vykkers back at the Labortory to do that. It was essiential for them to have the necessary tools to continue to perform operations.
He at last reached the closest enterance to the Production and Packaging area. He entered the monsterous section, but he couldn't hear any machinery working. Only the rumble of pipes was entering his ears. Slap was surprised to see that no Sligs or even Mudokons even were in the area. It was a wonder how this place even had the moolah to still run. Nevertheless, Slap wandered through the ground level of the area.
As Slap walked at a nice pace, he looked at the area he was at. He was curious on how everything worked, since he was at a level where Mudokons worked at. Every little barrel was planted nicely on conveyor belts that reminded him of the bodies he studied. Barrels of meat were packed on top of each other when he looked at the place he was at. He thought that this place might even be more wonderous if people actually worked here more often. Slap tried to stay positive, thinking that since the place is up and running again, people have to focus on the Grinders these days. But he still figured that someone should at least get some of the machines to transfer the barrels to the Goods train station. In fact....
Slap looked down and shook his head. This place probably needed 7 Mudokons at the least to get this place back up. Besides, it wasn't his job to start up the factory, just to heal the injuries around the place. Maybe sooner or later more Mudokons will start the place back up a little more. He continued to venture on, as he thought of his mission. Maybe he would come across one vendo on the higher levels.
Slap went by one ladder and looked at it. It lead to a higher level that apparentally had one of those vendos. Slap decided that he might want to drop his laptop on the floor, so he could climb the ladder. When he did slowly placed his laptop on the floor, he looked at the ladder. Normally, Interns would climb to higher levels since these kinds of ladders were not suitable for their awkard feet. But he guess he must try to at least climb the ladder. Slap grasped onto ladder and slowly pushed his legs up the rods on the ladder. He finally got the hang of it, trying to push up each leg onto a different rod when his arms were attached to much higher levels of rods.
Slap at last got to the top of the level that had the vendo. He glanced at the vendo and made his way for it. When he reached it, he pushed the button he saw numerous amounts of times repeatingly. Slap grabbed the Espressos and placed them into his apron's pocket. When he finished, he returned to the ladder he came from and made his way down to the ground level. From there, he placed his laptop into the same pocket and went to exit the Production and Packaging area. He made his way to the Grinder's stairs, where he could go and find the Stockyards.
ooc: Mox, I hate to get started on a bad foot with ya. But you only post once! All of your actions and sayings all go in one box! Then after someone else posts you can post again. Also, this RPG takes place WAY after Abe and Munch's time. (note: I am just trying to help you) Another thing, if he has bouncers there must be profiles for each of them. And something that I too had to learn: Profiles go in the specific W@RF profile thread. Another thing, Im pretty sure this forum doesn't appreciate things like: GTG, as much as other letter things like, ttyl, lol,mghn, bbs,bbl and other letter things. When you got off the train you should have read: that there are two sligs in the train station. Albino, and Jade. Sorry, I am just trying to help.
Splat 01-01-2007 01:45 PM
Indeed, the pint of RPGing is to interact with other people. For one thing there's no point in strolling around ignoring all other characters.
Secondly, you just made 6 posts to say what should have been said in one. Multiple posting is against the forum rules. If you keep doing things like that you can get a warning, possibly even a temporary ban.
