Alcar 04-17-2004 06:10 AM

It's meant to be a pun. There are other sexual inuendoes relating to names from Oddworld, which are not publicly known ;) Nor should we release those, filthy, filthy names :p

Alcar...

DeBulletDodger 04-17-2004 06:14 AM

Does anyone think that they will extend the quintology because its getting to close to the end :fuzsad:

Sekto Springs 04-17-2004 06:28 AM

Hmmm, personally I never want Oddworld to end. I don't know if oddworld will expand the quintology, that's why they make bonus games like Stranger to expand the range of Oddworld games.

DeBulletDodger 04-17-2004 06:31 AM

Good point but putting a limit on the amount of games is unfair they are changing gamming as we know it and they are only making 5 main games its distressing.

DeBulletDodger 04-17-2004 06:44 AM

Oh and I read something about them showing a theatrical version of one of the games in America somewhere is that true? :fuzconf:

Please answer i wanna find out.

Esus 04-17-2004 06:52 AM

Apparently, at least 2 more quintologies have already been concepted.

DeBulletDodger 04-17-2004 06:54 AM

Do u mean two more parts of the quintology or two more quintology's

Esus 04-17-2004 06:58 AM

two more quintologies, exactly what I said ;)

DeBulletDodger 04-17-2004 06:59 AM

Sorry alcar

Alcar 04-17-2004 07:03 AM

DeBulletDodger, there is an Edit button to be used if you have something further to say, but were the last to post. You aren't allowed to post twice in a row. You are also not allowed to post spam, in your case, meaningless, non-contributing one line posts. Please stop yourself in th future, or you will be dealt with accordingly. Please read our rules.

Esus, where did you hear there are two more quintologies in the concept phase? I haven't heard anything like this myself, but that's not to say it doesn't exist.

Alcar...

Esus 04-17-2004 07:08 AM

To be honest with you, I don't know.
I would assume I read it here, but I could be wrong.
I'm sure I did actually read it though, it's just I'm prone to having a bad memory for as to where I get information...

DeBulletDodger 04-17-2004 07:10 AM

Hmmmmmm ok.

Wil 04-17-2004 07:56 AM

Answering SS's question, I would imagine it's a long sounding 'a', as the word 'caste' is pronounced in English. Either way it sounds like 'The Castrator', just this way it's a bit more subtle.

Esus, I remember something being said about another Quintology, but truth be told I remember it coming from you...

Dodger, can't notice anything wrong with this topic, but there's no need for an extended Quintology. Lorne has fully mapped the story of the Quintology, through all five heroes, and inserting another one in would just be tricky. But as SS says, there are many other Oddworld games to enjoy: the Stranger series (should other games be made), the Habitales and Fearietales (should they ever re-emerge from the woodwork), plus the many bonus games of the heroes.

Oddish 04-17-2004 08:12 AM

The Habitales and Fearietales? I never herd of this, i herd of Hand of odd wich is something i'm most looking forawrd to :)

DeBulletDodger 04-17-2004 08:15 AM

Yes, what are these things

Esus 04-17-2004 09:11 AM

Oh... well... ignore me then, must've imagined it :(

Alcar 04-17-2004 11:17 PM

:

THE HABITALES
The Habitales will be a new series of games allowing you to experiance days in the life of the many creatures of Oddworld as they struggle for survival and balance in their natural enviroment. No guns, no points, no timers, no save the world. Just keep your own arse and offspind in one piece to live and propagate in an on growing, simulated, onwardly virtual habitat.

THE FEARITALES
The Fearietales will be a new series of games that bops you beyond the motal realm and tunes in live with the fashinable dead. This massive mystery series rises the interactive world to a whole new level of deeply disturbing entertainment. No blood, no guts, just grass root spirital and psychological horror from the other side.
Rick
Taken straight from the mouth of some guy named Rick (don't ask...).

DeBulletDodger 04-18-2004 04:46 AM

OOO I need to get them they will be so class.

I take it that they arnt in production yet.

Xavier 04-18-2004 07:23 AM

yep...
at least that's the way I understood it

DeBulletDodger 04-18-2004 07:25 AM

So where was this info on them shown

Wil 04-18-2004 07:49 AM

It was in the manual for Abe's Exoddus - just not the manual I got, and apparently, not the manual most people got. I think Abe Babe got one of the special ones, though.

Sekto Springs 04-18-2004 07:51 AM

Hmmm, I'm looking through the manual now and I can't find anything like that. I must have a normal one too :(

DeBulletDodger 04-18-2004 07:53 AM

I want one of these specail manuels

Sekto Springs 04-18-2004 07:55 AM

:

Very much ditto, but I doubt they still sell copies with special manuals nowadays. *sighs*

DeBulletDodger 04-18-2004 07:58 AM

Shame. Will they bring out a book explaining the stories in depth either near the end or at the end of the quintology do ya think?

Xavier 04-18-2004 07:58 AM

lol you have to find some old editions... since they aren't in the new editions of AE...
eBay would be the best place to find that :p

Esus 04-18-2004 08:00 AM

Oooh, just checked and I have a manual with it in. It's on Page 26 of my PC manual. It basically says exactly what Alcar quoted with a line at the front and end introducing it..

Sekto Springs 04-18-2004 08:00 AM

Yes, but I doubt they would have the special manual. Even if I won a bid for an AE with my fingers crossed, I'd probly just get the normal manual which I already have.

EDIT: So is it only in the PC manual?

Wil 04-18-2004 08:01 AM

Yeah, if you wanted to irritate every seller on whether their AE manual had that particular page. :p

I'd like one of those manuals, too. I could keep my eyes open in second-hand game bins, I guess. As could you, if you wanted.

Esus 04-18-2004 08:02 AM

To be perfectly honest with you, I got my manual (which includes the page) from Ebay just last week.

(wanted the pc version and only had the ps version...)
