Just so you know, the "Key" is usually what numbers to ciphers by, so they could be saying "you have the answer, whats the question"
EDIT Could it be a caesar box, that would explain the grid http://www.dcode.fr/caesar-box-cipher#q2 |
Looks like they're wanting us to think in a different way for now... I had a dumb idea that backbreaking could literally mean "do things backwards to break the code"........ ?
EDIT: I've kinda forgotten what they want us to look for now hahaha :') |
Wonder if this is anything

Hello everyone. I've been following the ARG and this forum for a day now, realised I could add my two cents in, but have only now gained access to write. This ARG is crazy and you guys have been really good.
Right now, here's what I'm thinking according to 1029's tweets: "Let the numbers guide you" > We obviously need to use the coordinates, and don't forget about the numbers after the coordinates. '5,1 : 4.' We still haven't used those, and the fact that 1029 is saying this after you've found "backbreaking" means there's still something to do with them. We may also need 73. (asset73 for the link?) "\discard distractions and find the /truth" > We definitely need to use the mastermind slashes for something. I know you've tried to figure out what would happen if the mastermind rules are used on the coordinates, but could it be that if we do that again, find which coordinates are "correct", then use those as a grid cipher to lay over the strings written inside the grid to find new words? I'm not sure, this sounds too complicated and 1029 did say the answer is simpler than it seems. "When you have the key, you need the correct lock" > So if "backbreaking" is indeed the key, could the lock be solving the grid while keeping the coordinate numbers (the third ones) with the respective letters? Problem is, too many letters are on white spaces. "Every step must be taken in turn" > Perhaps this is the most important one. They're telling us that we've rushed off maybe and haven't done something in order? Maybe "backbreaking" is really just a coincidence and the key is the coordinate list starting with the forwardslash. Aaaargh, my brain. Not sure if any of this helps, but maybe someone can fork off from my stupid ideas. I'm pretty sure the important clues are in the tweets, and not just the latest ones. |
The thing with 'Asset73' is that http://www.1029.io/repository/asset98/ provides us with a blank page, whereas http://www.1029.io/repository/asset73/ just 404s us.
But yeah, I tried the Letter Strings and the grid a couple of days ago without incorporating the truth and falsity values '/' '\' and got nothing from it. Though this IS looking promising. Just for reference: Backbreaking = 2-1-3-11-2-18-5-1-11-9-14-7 Also: 8992 8554 73 57 (tag from twitter banner) ---- All unused at the moment. How did you obtain the word 'backbreaking'? How were the truth and falsity values used? Edit: Cool, I've managed to get 'Backbreaking' as well. I'm going to try this for all 16 words possible. :
:
Have to stop for now as I have to head off, will continue later unless someone wants to tackle the other two grids. |
GlitterPanther did that a few posts back, didn't find anything unfortunately
|
Can someone tweet to oddworld saying about how one of the pieces fits at the top and the bottom? (The one below the letter a)

I may have missed something or followed the code wrong though, doesnt hurt to have multiple eyes or takes on the same thing But just for reference here they are again, the solutuions at the top 1,2,3,4 for each line and the letter boxes below, maybe I got the coordinates wrong of edited them wrong? /\//\\//5,1 .1,2 .1,3 .3,3 .4,3 .7,3 .1,5 .4,5 .5,5 .7,5 .7,6 .3,7. \\\\/\2,1 .3,1 .6,1 .1,2 .3,2 .3,4 .5,5 .6,5 .7,5 .4,7 .5,7 .7,6. \///\//\1,1 4,1 .6,1 .2,2 .6,2 .2,4 .3,5 .5,5 .7,5 .4,7 .6,7 .7,7 . \\//\\\/4,2 .6,2 .7,3 .2,4 .3,4 .4,4 .7,4 .2,6 .4,6 .6,6 .1,7 .3,7 . 1BKCBIKEAGANR 2QETKUCGFAWCI 3JATNESPGAWIE 4CEKSCYTHEJZR JQEABTV KNUCSEY CMBILDK OSCYSIT ECPAGFA XHKETJN ZURWCIE 1TAWLAVJRJM 2WUUASKQPRMHS 3HIUBNJWQRM?? 4JNVKKWKTHSHM HWUITUH ABSJGNE WKLALNV GJKWELK JLWQQPR UTJHJJS BFMMH 1RLHNWITOJWAJ 2UTOLGOJAWNWA 3JYONLPNJWNNR 4GLIPOKNONLWJ JUTYROS LNGNALE HGNWOTI QPOKSDN TPNOJAW EOBNGLA WKJNWNR 1TNQEPDIBDL 2DIHNULBEADOO 3KUHPHAHBADKE 4YHDALJDLFRJL KDIUTHA NPUYHHD QOEPLND OALJGUD ITHBBDO ZLGFERK JGLSAOE |

But going through coordinates of the tiles that have the 1029 logo on it and through the series of numbers - some of those tiles' coordinates aren't listed in the number series.... I am very confused.... |
So...
Re-arrange the squares again? Trying to Catch up with everything here... Oddworld is good (O-O) |
The coded message in the tweet is translated as "one one seven three four one eight five six nine". It was apparently a substitution cipher with the keyword subjectivism. No idea what the numbers are used for, credit goes to Randomiser at GameDetectives
EDIT: NEW PAGE FOUND http://www.1029.io/repository/asset98/1173418569/ Looks like pieces of an image If you have good photoshop skills, SORT IT OUT FOR US! ALL CREDIT TO RANDOMISER |
:
backbreaking is 12-letter nonsense > subjectivism > numbers as string numbers (third numbers in coordinates) as string > backbreaking > ??? could someone check maybe? I'm quite busy >.< EDIT: oh what, apparently, that was it? disregard this then i guess... |
Basically their way of saying "You suck at puzzle solving, here's next image, get on with it"
|
Here's hoping for numberless puzzles next time
(=3=) i have a headache looking at them and i didn't even solve it |
I'm going to work on trying to arrange this image/jigsaw puzzle.
http://www.1029.io/repository/asset9...0_BDJW8411.jpg I guess they gave up on us solving their source code puzzles :goof: |
The photo changes when you refresh again. So did someone on Twitter solve it? I'm so confused haha. Pretty cool either way

Here's another image from the link

I have absolutely no idea how I found this:
http://www.1029.io/repository/asset9...CWB6_ARG-H.JPG every refresh gives a new image, 13 in all Send this image to oddworld ASAP |
There is MANY more scattered pictures this time (trying to do something useful about it)

Yeah, I was in Discord and Randomiser solved it, so I put it in the url, and voila! It worked! Glad to be of assistance.
If someone hasn't already, send this image ASAP to oddworld: http://www.1029.io/repository/asset9...CWB6_ARG-H.JPG |
Some pictures seem to contain the same pictures in a different angle or filter
Also, is that Binary on the Monitor? |
Sorry for double post, just wanted to say, if you go in the source code you can see what phone took the phote and at what focal length
dßç©2dd AppleiPhone 7 back camera 3.99mm f/1.8 You can also see they used photoshop a lot XP Also, gonna point this out now, theres a bit circle saying "WHAT" the text that is circled is reversed, so its probable that image needs reversing too... If you turn the image upside down theres a mudokons face http://www.1029.io/repository/asset9...CWB6_ARG-H.JPG |
New tweet from OWI:
"You found another web page! It's a pretty creepy one, too. You know what to do next... http://ow.ly/ILBC308M1FB" They know Randomiser found the link with all the images in. Good job m8 |
