for the record, i like Ricky Gervais and enjoy his comedy, but i also know a lot of people dislike him which is why i gave the option to skip the beginning. also i'm pretty sure the song itself was written by both Ricky and Bowie anyway, even though it's funnier to think Bowie was just wingin' it.

Spontaneous jazz is amazing. A jazz quartet I'm in was warming up for a gig once and the drummer started mucking around with a beat. The bass player just decided to join in, then the keyboard player, then I ripped out a sax solo over the top. That happened two more times.

I actually have lots about spontaneous ensembles. Musically it's always interesting because everyone involved has to listen, and it takes energetic, enthusiastic people to even attempt it.

I wish public transport in Adelaide was awesome like that.
