I never knew you dislike Oddworld in general, OANST. I thought it's only the newer games

OANST 08-06-2013 02:54 PM

I actually do like the games, Stranger's Wrath included. I just can't stand Lorne Lanning.

Slog Bait 08-06-2013 02:55 PM

OANST jesus fucking christ, can you pull the 9ft pole out your ass for five god damn seconds and stop shitting on people for what they're interested in? ESPECIALLY when they're even remotely passionate about it? It's not a good program to you. Everyone already fucking knows you don't like the show. That bit alone was made obvious in the thread title. Anyone can discuss anything they damn well please, whether they like it or not, but you're not even trying to spark a discussion. You just flat up walked in and said "this sucks" and when you get an objection to your very blunt statement, you start belittling them based on their interests.

Hey! News for you! If you think something is shit it doesn't actually mean it's shit. Everyone has their own individual tastes and no single one is right.

Wings of Fire 08-06-2013 03:04 PM

Official warnings on their way. The next person to not post anything new about Doctor Who that isn't an endless recycle of this argument gets an infraction for spam no questions asked.

Nep, stop being so irritatingly easy to bait.
OANST, start finding new and interesting ways to be a cunt. You're boring us all and doing yourself a disservice.

Oosh!

I hope they break every typewriter in the vicinity of Moffat because if he ends up writing for Capaldi he'll ruin...well...everything. It's gonna be pretty heard to turn Who back into a good show imo, don't let him dig the hole deeper.

I disagree. Give him a good actor and a good new Doctor character and he could potentially produce something great.

I must say that I'm glad they didn't go for a female Doctor. There's no way that Moffat could do that well.

Strike Witch 08-06-2013 09:54 PM

I miss the old format.

Nepsotic 08-06-2013 10:27 PM

Yeah but that's just nostalgia. There's not many objective advantages of it.

Strike Witch 08-07-2013 03:16 AM

Yeah there are.

OANST 08-07-2013 08:39 AM

With all due respect, and you know, it's an internet forum, so take that with a grain of salt, all I came in here to do was mention that I like Peter Capaldi, but seeing as it's Dr. Who, which is a completely unwatchable, shit can piece of ass vomit, I still won't be able to view it. Others decided to engage me in this. Light hearted cuntery, the kind we are known for, ensued. Anyone who gets mad about me not liking their favorite show, which, for the record, is a diarrhea stained napkin used to wipe puss from a syphilitic dick, should stop feeling like the crappy things they like are only good if everyone likes them, and also maybe this:

Yeah there are.

Aside from making sure people watch next weeks, I really can't think of that many.

STM 08-07-2013 12:15 PM

At least the old stories didn't bring people back to life by the power of love/ from wishing hard enough. Christ the old stuff was darker. When someone died, they stayed dead.

Whooaa. What?

STM 08-07-2013 01:51 PM

That Christmas special with Alexander Armstrong where they butchered his character portrayal through shitty writing and brought him back from the dead with faggy love magic or something.

MeechMunchie 08-07-2013 09:06 PM

Also that robot that suddenly stopped being a WMD because he remembered his girlfriend's name.

Nepsotic 08-07-2013 09:57 PM

I don't remember these episodes. Could you be a bit more specific?

MeechMunchie 08-07-2013 10:16 PM

That would require me to watch Doctor Who again.

Because if you have more time to tell a story you can do more with said story.

Current Doctor Who crams a whole adventure into less than an hour. Fuck that noise, give me the original with its' developing plotlines and atmosphere and mystery.

Nepsotic 08-07-2013 11:23 PM

Ah, I see now. It's just the 8-14 episode long stories got insanely boring.

Phylum 08-08-2013 01:01 AM

The shocking episodes that STM is talking about are "Closing Time", "The Doctor, the Witch and the Wardrobe" and to a lesser degree "The Rings of Akhaten". Please don't hate me OANST :(

The biggest problem with every episode of Doctor Who in the last two seasons is that the stories have had no time to develop. Moffat writes huge idea, but not one episode in the last season was split in two parts. Not even the finale.

Nepsotic 08-08-2013 01:10 AM

Another thing is that Moffat tries to be too clever with the concept of time, and while his stories do make sense, they get tiresome and sometimes too complicated. Also, I'm sick of his "badass" companion writing, I hated Amy because of it, though admittedly I think it works well with Clara, and she's a likable character.

Closing Time had a scientific explanation behind it though, and despite how bullshit it was, I let it slide. I don't remember what happened in the end of the Doctor, the Witch and the Wardrobe because even though I have it on DVD, I only saw it the one time and didn't care to see it again. Same with the Rings of Akhaten, except I despise that episode.

And yet most of the double episodes over the last few years have been dull, dull, dull.

OANST: Just stop posting in here. We know that you're only doing it to get a reaction, and I'm disappointed in the rest of our members that they fall for it every time.

this is actually the very reason why i don't get on with modern Doctor Who. it's like every week the world is in peril with a new scary alien/bad guy and yet nothing ever really comes of it. by now the human race would have been reduced to paranoid xenophobes and Dr Who would probably be on Earth's most wanted list.

that'd be interesting.

STM 08-08-2013 08:19 AM

He was the whole universes most wanted at one point but then he used a fuck off massive MiB mind-eraser pen and everyone forgot who he was. Convenient as hell.

MA 08-08-2013 09:09 AM

oh i've got one of those

STM 08-08-2013 09:13 AM

One of what?

Bullet Magnet 08-08-2013 10:32 AM

A mind eraser pen. It's just a normal pen, but such is his skill that he can write a short missive so awful that it can wipe away memories. It's the brain's defence mechanism, the same one evolved to combat the effects of Vogon poetry.

They're still rushed as fuck. Oh look a mysterious army of ghosts what is the mystery OH NO THEY'RE JUST CYBERMEN oh what is inside the mysterious orb HURR IT'S DALEKS CLIFFHANGER TIME TUNE IN NEXT WEEK FOR THEM SHOOTING AT EACH OTHER

Phylum 08-08-2013 11:03 PM

So it's either fewer drawn out, rushed stories, or a bigger variety of 45 minute hackups.

I really don't know what I'd prefer.

Did I mention that I'm hoping a new Doctor makes them change up their writing style a bit?

Nepsotic 08-09-2013 12:22 AM

We all hope, but it's unlikely.

Nepsotic 10-07-2013 08:37 AM

Today I just heard the news story I'd been hoping for, for fucking ages, but never thought it would come. A whole bunch of missing Doctor Who episodes from the 60s were found, in fucking Ethiopia. I didn't even know they had a radio station. Either way, this is great, I really hope Evil of the Daleks and Power of the Daleks are in there somewhere. Anyway here's an article about it.
