What does the month, day, year triangle mean?

Americans call it 9/11/01, I'd call it 11/9/01.

MeechMunchie 11-29-2011 09:54 AM

Hence the 'joke' "What happened on 9th of November?"

EDIT: New page ninja'd.

How the Queen controls the value of the euro currency.

And, how you can wank Big Ben.

This has been getting pretty viral in the last few days. The woman is so ignorant...

I like how she says it's her country, it's not hers, she hasn't done anything for it, she's an insignificant speck of worthlessness.

What does the month, day, year triangle mean?

It represents the logical way of writing down a date. Days are smaller than months, months are smaller than years.

Logically you would say 'it's day 1 of month 12 in year 2011'. In the US for whatever reason they say 'in month 12 it's day 1 in 2011'.

I remember when I was at a house party we all tried to get that working but it wouldn't work, so I shouted "Fuck you!" at it and it's response was "There is no need for profranity"

How to lose $2400 in 24 seconds.

MeechMunchie 12-01-2011 02:36 PM

Was that the price of the camera or something?

Mr. Bungle 12-01-2011 07:29 PM

Yeah. I thought it was pretty clever.

Dynamithix 12-01-2011 08:47 PM

Some memes are just fun.

Dynamithix 12-03-2011 04:48 AM

Is that from a game? (The original one.)

I remember a game that had similar little rhythm games. It was called Rhythm Heaven or Rhythm Paradise, depending on the version. I have it for the DS, it's fun.

Crashpunk 12-03-2011 05:24 AM

Its from Rhythm Paradise on Wii.

That's because Americans when saying the date, say it like "December 3rd, 2011" as opposed to "The 3rd of December, 2011". So naturally, when shortened, it will feel only natural to write is as 12-03-11 instead of 03-12-11. Unless you get a teacher who demands you use stardate.

Only Imperial standard dating will suffice.

For those who are interested, today's (initial) date is 0926011.M3.

0: Definite Earth standard date
926: 926/1000 parts through the year
011: 011th year of the millenium
.M3: 3rd millenium A.D.

Yes, I did work that out myself. Probably killed the joke.

Mac Sirloin 12-03-2011 04:52 PM

Can you teach me to do that? I've been reading Ravenor Returns and I'm missing the importance of 'X happened on 401.3 M3 and 402.2 M3
