We have a local club who plays like metal for 15 year olds. It's good fun singing to Papa Roach when drunk

Singing?
Papa Roach always sounded more like bawling to me, even when I was 15. |
"絶対love×love宣言!!" by Aya Hirano, Ryoko Shiraishi, and Haruka Tomatsu

I just got the first two Modest Mouse albums. Orgasmic. |
You look me in the eye and tell me that the music from the Super Mario games isn't catchy. The games are pretty darn strange, but the music from them never fails to cheer me up. Especially Delfino Plaza. That one's my favorite. Me and my wife had that played at our wedding along with John Lennon's 'Imagine'.

I hate you so fucking much.

Terribly sorry.

U listen to Shakira? :p
|
shakira sucks my dick
so no. I had to ask my sister the name of any album she could think of that was in the charts, and the only one she could remember was Oral Fixation by Shakira because it's rediculous and alludes to the fact that she fellates my member on a daily basis. I do, however, listen to Soulja Boy. |
Get out my face ho, get out my face ho...
^^the catchiest five words you'll ever hear in rap |
:
I've been listening to The National. I like it. The forum member who is visiting me also likes it. I'm not telling who that is, though. FIGURE IT OUT! |
How funny. The ones I were mentioning were Long Drive and Lonely Crowded West. But I did pick up SSS and Moon & Antarctica very recently. I gotta say M&N is probably my favorite right now. 3rd Planet is awwwwwwright.
On a non-fanboy note, I've started listening to old school funk. That's fucking sweet. LIKE REALLY SWEET. |

Music and stuff...
Hellooo everyone.
I was just wondering what kinda music you're all into. And if any of you play anything. I'm really into punk and electro. I play electric guitar and recently started playing bass too. There should totally be a music sub forum on here. =p |
|
I like Gary Numan.
Y'know, the dude who did 'Cars'. And this awesome band called KIK. www.myspace.com/kikuk |
I like techno. :D And anything else that sounds nice.
|
The Sex Pistols are very awesome. And they couldn't even play, hah...

I've a very mixed taste for music. I mostly listen to ambience, trip-hop, hip-hop, dubstep and drum&bass. I have certain periods when I listen to a certain genre extensively and do a complete 180 turn after that. It's a good thing, I think, 'cause I never really get bored with music but I'm constantly looking for new stuff. I wouldn't call myself open-minded though, since I'm very picky about sounds and instruments.
|
What ambient or dubstep do you listen to?
I am nosey for everyone's taste because most people who say such know nothing of the genres they speak of just to seem mad underground. No offence or anything, but most people who say they listen to ambient can probably only say they've heard of Brian Eno by name, and perhaps have downloaded an Elivium album or two. I only ask because a few weeks ago you posted a blog saying you were looking for new music As for dubstep, it's a budding genre, and in order for me to love, it has to evolve. It's but a baby atm. I like the artists who incorporate chiptune in their sounds though, such as Zomby and Rustie. Some artists like Ital Tek and Boxcutter and getting it right though, and give me my little interest in the genre at present Let's do big genre lists and provide explanations proving ourselves to be mega awesome. Ambient: I was born to Roger Eno's Voices, fact. I've been brought up on it and I listen to ambient albums before I sleep at night. Drill'n'bass/IDM/whatever the fuck people call it: easy progression on from ambient. Essentially the marriage of ambient and glitch, or ambient tonality. Screamo: this was last years discovery. Lots of it is pure shit, but when you dig deep you find good things in every genre. Sed Non Satiata, The Kidcrash, Pyramids, Cease Upon the Capital etcetc Postrock: A coming and coming genre, and it has come and gone so to speak. The genre is pretty cold right now, but being postrock, somethings gotta give, and we've gotta get one really great postrock record coming out soon enough. Chiptune: I love chiptune. Bit Shifter, I, Cactus and Animal Style are on heavy rotation and the moment. Sludge metal: It's best when it's more droney and less blacksabbathy. Blacksabbathy stuff sounds cheesey to me. The Abominable Iron Sloth are my favourite sludge act, though they kind of mix it with hardcore and things and that's all I can say off of the top of my head. I'll pretty much listen to anyting if it sounds good. |
I listen to metal and that stuff. And also industrial.
|
HAI GAIZE!
Classical: I have the entire Fantasia soundtrack which I frequently listen to <3 I'll also listen to any and all Disney soundtracks, why? Because I rawk. Blues: I don't know that many good blues artists at present but I like stuff like Stevie Wonder and Stevie Ray Vaughn, also like a lot of old blues rock. Blues singers have some of the most amazing voices I have ever heard like Glenn Hughes. 80's pop: Fact of life, with the exception of Margerat Thatcher everything from the 80's rocked. Soft Cell, Cat Stevens, basically any power ballad you care to mention :D they all rock. The 90's was when pop started going downhill. Metal: This is where my heart truly lies ^^ I like and can listen to most forms of metal but particularly find myself loving Power and Progressive, although some heavy metal like Iron Maiden and Iced Earth go down well. I mainly listen to operatic and folky German power metal that most heathens have never heard of like Blind Guardian and Edguy. Leto, I'm intrigued by this whole Post Rock thing :) I think I shall check them out. |

well, wikipedia and pretty much everywhere will tell you postrock is 'rock instrumentation used for nonrock purposes', how utterly drawl. so instead, I will provide you myspace links dabbling in what it actually sounds like:
Explosions in the Sky Mogwai Godspeed You! Black Emperor Sigur Ros those are some of the big influencial acts in the genre. Essentially it's rock music that's pretty and moving. and these links also for all you little kiddies who want to impress your 14 year old friends edit: some classic is fucking good too. mainly thinking neoclassical here, but Max Richter instantly spring to mind. then Needs More Sources. and that's all that instantly springs to mind actually |
