There's industrial credits in the game already, you just need to block their recipe so people can't just make them
Really? ._.
Hm interesting. There's not a lot you can't produce on your own though, so what would credits really be used for??
Only use I can think of for them is if you'd disable being able to create most of the valuable things with the EMC system and instead be able to purchase them from vending machines... Or use them as ways to compete with each other and see who can earn the most of them. :P
It just means that people can buy stuff off others such as power or services with something that has a worth
I suppose. For example I plan to export power from the NPP when it's done using the railcraft mod. UU matter can't be bought with EMC either, for example. I plan to sell that too. :P
EDIT: 3000th post, yay. Probably 'cause I've been spamming up the boards a lot today. |
Yeah but even UU matter can be mass produced. My factory is theoretically capable of making it around the clock. Seems like nothing is really 'valuable' in Tekkit beyond a certain point.
Edit: Case in point, I'm slowly building up a rig that allows me to make tons of redmatter from nothing, using simply advanced EE machines. I'm starting to seriously think that EE is pretty damn overpowered to a point where I might want to take it out partially. IE, no generating EMC from nothing. |
Server Announcement Due to the new whitelist system not working properly (read: not at all) I'm being forced to go back to the vanilla white list that comes with the server software (simple txt file with names in it). This was brought to my attention because of Ma'spa burning down and investigating the person who did it. Turns out the server wasn't white listed at all, while I was under the impression that it was. Secondly I started looking at a way to protect the Tekkit server from griefing, which I found out is not possible. All current logging plugins do not work with custom Tekkit blocks. Rollbacks will only spawn back vanilla blocks and nothing else. As such I've kept the current whitelist for the Tekkit server to a bare minimum of players who I know get on frequently. If you want your name added to it, send me a message. For both servers it means a server restart is required whenever someone is added to the whitelist (great programming, absolutely wonderful -_-). |
So, now the whitelist is fucked?
Well that sucks.

Okay, now formally requesting access to the vanilla server. If the current problems aren't, well, a problem.
PM me your username and welcome on board :)
I've just looked around the vanilla Minecraft server and all of my Redstone circuits are broken. My Door and Bridge, the 3x3 door in the Temple of Time, even a simple Piston circuits.

Yeah, it's an unfortunate byproduct of the rollbacks.
Might have some more time to get back onto the server soon. Still havn't finished setting up my home :(

Server Announcement I figured I should give you all a heads up that Energy Collectors and Water Strainers will be completely disabled soon™. If you have any setups that make use of these machines they will not suddenly disappear but I would like to kindly ask you to get rid of them when this change goes live. As for why, Energy Collectors are fun for single player no doubt, but have no place in a survival multiplayer server. With a MK3 collector generating 40 EMC per second, it just makes the game WAY too easy when you reach the point where you can afford these. A second reason is Glitch's economy idea. Trading of services and goods only works properly if there is a limited amount of base currency (EMC). Without the collectors that base limit would essentially be all the combined EMC of all blocks in the world (that have an EMC value). This makes extreme builds a little more interesting and challenging and keeps the server fun for longer. Strainers, as Darkhoodness has graciously proven, are currently glitched beyond repair and capable of corrupting the map. Please remove any strainers you are currently using and look for an alternative powersource. This change will go live somewhere next week, probably Monday. |
Server Announcement The following changes are in effect starting today: 1. All Energy Collectors have been disabled for all players, including admins. You can no longer craft, place, or interact with these blocks. The EMC related bans have been put in place primarily because they were considered overpowered, but also to support the economy idea put forth by Glitch. Since this relies heavily on trading for hard to get items, being able to generate unlimited EMC would kind of defeat this idea. I am no economist though, so any ideas to improve this economy idea (or to keep it from failing horribly) are welcome :). |
This is a good idea to keep the server fresh - Thanks, Havoc! :) I guess the next stage is to implement a way of earning them. BTW, Coal is 128 EMC, not 8.
Now that my nuclear power plant is in operation, I may start selling iridium plates. |
My bad :p. Yeah I hope this will work out nicely :)
I will be building a bank at some point using my ill gotten gains from eneergy collectors. This will feature automatic (computercraft) systems that allow you to deposit and withdraw credits. I will also implement a system that allows people to start new accounts, complete with bank card (disk) that would allow instant access to your account.
If havoc is up for it, I will implement interest also (this will need admin approval because I'd need a duplicator block) I also think we need to build an automated store that will buy certain things for IC |
I realise I’m roughly as active on the servers as Elvis Presley, but could I be put back on the whitelist? I got a new computer which is much more capable of playing.
Please PM me your username again and I will put you back on both servers.
Hello everyone, This morning I tried to log into the vanilla server and it said "The ban hammer has spoken". What did I get banned for? I played on the server once, had a look around then quit. I have not griefed or stolen ,did someone hack my account? Anyway I am very sorry about whatever happened but I have changed my password and can I please be welcomed back onto the server? It is great and I really wanna play on it, if I do get let back on could I get a full tour?
I believe you were banned because you (or your account) destroyed most of Ma'Spa town with dynamite and fire.
Whether or not you did it, your account was used for it. And if your password was stolen, well, what's to stop someone just stealing it again? Do you have a sibling who uses your computer? Either way, I think you can understand why we don't want to take a risk. The whole town was destroyed. |
Ok I get what your saying, no I don't have other siblings. Maybe I can wait out a while and come back later?
Fact of the matter is, We don't trust you. Well I certainly don't. I don't think waiting a while will result us just forgetting about the whole thing and letting you back on.
Well folks, now that Havoc’s let me back on the server I’m gonna endeavour to become a bit more active again.
I think I’ll start slow – I took a wander around the land I claimed before and holy shit there’s a lotta work to be done there. I’ll take a sabbatical into somewhere secluded and maybe try and set up Shack 2.0. In the meantime, I guess I should mention I got a really big screen now? I guess if folks wanted huge screenshots for some reason I could get them for you. e: http://i.imgur.com/rKE8R.jpg That spit of land to the far northeast of spawn, with a jungle and desert and hills in it. Is anyone using it? The closest thing on the map is some nondescript buildings to the far south. |
Not to my knowledge. Then again not a lot of people go on the Vanilla server these days anyway :p
